What a surprise
I wasn’t sure what to expect when ordering this, but it has been important to me to use “sustainable”, environmentally friendly cat litter for years. The brands I have been using are made from natural substance, and is safe for spetic and sewer systems, so any new litter I try would also have to meet that standard. Of course stink-retaining factor is important, too.When I opened the bag, I was met with a delightful, refreshing green tea aroma. It was even soothing. I expected more tofu-looking particles- whatever that would look like- and was surprised to see these little pellets.One bag was the perfect amount for the box in which I wanted to try this litter. Several cats have visited the box and left a deposit. To date I have not noticed any problems with scooping the deposits, nor odor beyond what is typical.The ingredients in the litter are wonderful- nothing harmful to animals or earth, ingredients readily available. I only wish there wasn’t such a high price for such safety and peace of mind. The litter I’ve been landed on for five years is about $1/pound, and that’s been a big expense for the 5 cats I have, but for good litter and a clear conscience, I have to pay up. This litter is currently about $2/pound.

Disappinted with Quality
I ordered this because it was a big bag at a good price. Disappointed with quality…it clumps together in sticky pieces, sticks to the litterbox, and the litterbox still smells.

Long-lasting, but disappointed in clumping power
I ordered this hoping it would stand up to another brand of soy litter I’ve used and it didn’t. This litter smells great, doesn’t track much, and was easy for my cats to adjust to. I love that this litter is made out of natural ingredients. The only thing I didn’t like about this brand was the clumping power. The other brand I used clumps tightly and quickly. This brand does not. It breaks up easily and so it’s not as easy to keep the litter box as clean. I still think it’s better overall than clay – my room that it’s in smells much better than the rooms with my clay litter boxes. One bag of this has lasted quite a long time, which I like too. I think I’m on 2-3 months with just one bag and no refilling or replacing. And I have 5 cats and 4 other litter boxes.

The fresh green tea scent masks odors for days
I received three bags, each six pounds, in a single box. I notice this litter produces minimal dust, and my litter-trained ratties initially took a strong liking to it – I even caught them eating the fresh litter. Thankfully, they stopped shortly after. I believe they were very hungry. At least my ratties didn’t fall ill, as the litter contains no harmful ingredients. The bag itself doesn’t list the complete ingredients list but on the box I read it contains pea fiber, soybean fiber, starch, corn flour, natural green tea powder, and guar gum. I also see it’s made in China. The green tea scent is dominant and masks odors and drying urine. Each of my three 6-pound tofu litter bags has a manufacturing date of November 2nd, 2024, with a 24-month shelf life. I clean their litter container every three days, and even by then, the odors remain mild.

Do not like it
I did not like this litter at all. My cat wasn’t to thrilled with either. It was too big to go through my litter scoop so a lot of it was wasted. After about 3-4 days I emptied it and put her regular litter in.

I’m on a journey to find an alternative litter type that does not have a lot of dust. While tofu litter is the more pricey of the options, it truly works wonders. The pellets melt together when in contact with liquid making for an easy scoop. the fragrance smell is subtle, and i haven’t noticed any unpleasant odors so it does a good job containing those. My cats do sling it still so there is still some tracking, but it is easier to clean up than traditional litter. I love having the option to just flush it too.
