The automatic setting is perfect for matching her energy level, and I love that I can control it with the remote or let it run on its own. Works on hard floors only!
As the headline says, this toy works on hard floors only — Any carpet at all (including extremely low pile commercial carpet) gets this toy stuck.Aside from that, on hard surfaces, it works a treat. The obstacle avoidance works reasonably well, and when it does manage to hit something, it turns itself around without an issue. The autonomous mode is better than pretty much any other self propelled cat toy of this type that I’ve used, and it’s managed to stay upright even while being played with by several cats!The real fun is with the remote control. When the toy is on, any touch of the remote control puts it in manual mode. It’s a bit difficult to control, but once you get the hang of controlling it, you can mostly keep it going in the direction you’d like it to. Being able to let it run itself and also take control at a moments notice when you want to tease your cats even more is excellent.The inability to run on carpet is a bit of a downer, but as long as you have hard floors, it’s a great time!

Similar to what other reviewers’ experiences has been. I did not find this toy to be very intelligent and good at avoiding obstacles. In fact, it did kept running into things, as well as falling onto its side as well. The motor whine and the wheel spin noises is actually kind of unpleasant after a minute or two. I think the remote component of it makes it a little more fun and intentional for the kitties. With that said, as a toy that is intended to be entertainment for the cats, I think it kind of failed since my cats didn’t want to chase or play with it after looking at it for 15 minutes or so. Oh well, not all are winners.

The feather isn’t long at all. When the cat gets the feather, the toy tips over, rendering it useless. The remote stopped responding after 5 minutes

Definitely Recommend!It’s the best quality, well design and most intelligent cat toy that my cats have ever play! Plus it can be remote controlled to move around. It’s just so much fun to control the toy around and the speed is suitable for cats to chase. Turning on the auto mode, cats are crazy about it and loving to chase the little feather on its tail!

Loud and annoying
I test every cat toy I can get my hands on for our crew of 8 rescue cats. This toy looked cute and I liked the remote control option. It will operate on its own or you can take over control with the remote. However, it it is sooo loud on our hardwood floors. Each time it stops and starts it bangs on the floor since it tips back and forth as a “snail” shaped toy. It is too fast and crazy for even my youngest, most energetic cat. It does not act like prey it acts like a loud banging machine. The cats ran from it. Cats did not like it at all. Sorry, fail.

I wasn’t expecting that I would enjoy driving this little snail around with the remote. I really did buy it to help out with boredom for my indoor-only cats. After fully charging it and putting it on the floor for the cats, it really moves and gets itself out of almost any position it gets into without having to lift it out. I enjoyed playing with it so much that I was a little disappointed when the cats finally decided they had enough for the time being and ended up driving it around. This has a ton of power and is quick to respond to the remote. It also has an Auto feature, so if you happen to be less of a geek than I am and get tired of playing with it, it can be set to auto with a simple click of a button, and “boom,” the cats can play without any interaction from a human. The large majority of my house has carpeting, and though it did move somewhat on the carpet, the movements were much slower and did not keep the cat’s interest, but once on laminate or tile, it was all over! When the cats swat it, the snail changes direction automatically. It is as fun for the human as it is for the cat…even if it is just watching the cats have fun with it.
