Nice lighted clippers!
These clippers are pretty nice! I love that there is a light to help you see where you’re cutting on the nail and then the opposite side has a little black light. At first the lights wouldn’t work, despite taking the clear tag out that separated the batteries. I took them out and tried again and nothing. I thought maybe I got a dud. I took thm out again and turned the batteries all around and it worked. So check your batteries when you get them if it doesn’t turn on! The only downfall of these is that they are a little bulky to maneuver especially when speed and timing is of the essence when working with a cat. Overall though they are nice clippers and I would recommend them

LED light is a game changer
I use this to clip the nails on my 13 lb chihuahua mix. Before I got these, I was using the basic blue clippers everyone seems to have. This set of clippers, in addition to being in the cool shape of a banana, offer some important improvements over basic clippers:* It features two LED lights serving different important functions. The main LED is shining directly at the blades, so you can very clearly see the part of the nail you are about to cut. The other LED light is at the end of the handle, and according to the brief instructions, is a violet light that can be used to detect fungus and ringworm. I will have to read more about that as it’s not something I’m familiar with. But the main LED Is really an amazing feature.* It features a clear clip collection compartment, so that the pieces of cut nail don’t fly off randomly as they tend to do. There’s a little tab on the compartment you can use to open it to empty it out.* It includes a manual file, which is stored in one of the handles.I really like these clippers. If you have to buy some, it’s definitely worthwhile to get some that have the very useful LED light. It makes clipping the correct part of the nail so much easier. The other extra features, like the violet light, the clip compartment, and the built in file, are definitely added benefits! I never imagined a set of pet nail clippers could have so many well-integrated features.

Helpful clippers with a few limits
The LED lights on these pet nail clippers are a big help when trimming my dogs’ nails, making it easier to see where the quick is on the lighter ones. They do not penetrate through one of my dog’s black nails, but that is something I expected based on the description. The clippers themselves are sharp and cut cleanly without crushing the nail. I also like the plastic guide, which makes it easier to avoid clipping too deep by accident. The handle feels sturdy and comfortable to hold, even after a full grooming session. The little storage box for clippings is a nice touch and keeps the area cleaner than I thought it would. Overall, they work really well for most of my pets, even if they are not perfect for darker nails.

Love how they sliced through nails like butter
I love these clippers, I don’t know if it is the fact that they are new and can cut easier than my other one, but it was very easy to use on my dog who tends to jerk her leg away as soon as I get close to her with nail clippers. She didn’t jerk her leg away with these which is a first in her life. They are a little beefy in the handle which I think works to your advantage since it is easier to compress than normal clippers that are much thinner. The light on both ends makes it easy to find the quick so you don’t cut too far and the plastic protector keeps the cut nails contained so you are not cleaning up pieces of nails. Overall these are a great buy given how well they work, especially when you have 1 or 2 attempts to cut your dogs nails like I do before having to put clippers away and try again later.

Probably best for a small and well behaved dog
I ordered these because I need these “scissor” type nail clippers for my dog rather than the “guillotine” style that requires you to get the dogs nail through a loop and sit still while you cut. Unfortunately, these blades don’t open wide enough so I’m stuck facing a very similar problem….needing my dog to sit perfectly still while I line up and thread his nails through the gap between the blades. If you knew my dog you’d know what an impossible ask that is.I did manage to get a few of his nails and the clippers cut them ok so I think they’re sharp, however overall I just don’t feel these nail clippers are heavy duty enough for my Weimaraner’s talons.The light did work and was pretty helpful. These might be an ok tool for small, calm dog with tiny toes.

Easy to hold and you can really see the quick when trimming
The light placement is brilliant. Even the silly banana shape of the handles are great, making it very easy to hold. The only reason I took a star off is that the blades are not as heavy-duty as I need for my golden retriever’s very hard claws. Although they did cut through, It wasn’t a nice smooth clip and it scared him. I think they would be great for small or medium dogs.

Cute and functional!
One of the scariest things about trimming my dog’s nails is not being able to see through a few of his darker nails. This is so helpful with the light. It’s light weight and easy for me to hold. Comes with batteries for the light, there’s a tab you have to pull first in the battery compartment!
