Yay to cat desk cat beds!
I got 3 of these cat beds. My cats so far haven’t really adapted to them, I can’t get them to really want to fall asleep in them or even really get in them. I put them in, they just crawl right back out and stare at me.Of the 3 that I have, 2 of them have the same type of frame (this frame), where it feels sorta flimsy. It’s not, it’s totally not, but it sorta feels that way because the unit is allowed some room to swing (where as my other one, is like “you no swing”); so when the cat gets in or out of it, it can move around making the cat feel like it’s an unstable source. If it’s not intended to be that way, I have the ‘set’ screw, that makes sure the cat bed doesn’t just pop out of the vice grip holder thing, in as far as I can tighten it without having to get a piece of equipment to help me tighten it further. This one comes with a metal frame, the vice grip thing, a bed, and instructions. It’s very simple to setup.Other than the feeling of flimsiness, the only real thing that I don’t like about this one (that the others don’t suffer from), is the pad that is on the vice grip. On my other 2, the pad spins freely of the main screw, on this one, it doesn’t; so when you are trying to tighten it, the pad is spinning with the turning of the vice grip; it doesn’t stop spinning once it catches, it keeps spinning no matter how tight you get it; so it slides all over the place, not a big deal, not like a reason I would be like “give me my money back”, just something of note.

cat bed
This has a sturdy clamp, and the metal feels strong. However, the clamp design means that on my two desks, the bed can’t be clamped to the side or the front, because the inner rotating part of the c-clamp is too wide and doesn’t spin freely at the end of the screw independent of the screw. As a result, it can’t be tightened well if there’s not enough overhang for the desk top compared to the sides. (I have pretty bog standard metal desks). I was able to install it securely on a bookcase, and my cat likes it, but that requires having a heavy bookcase secured to a wall, otherwise there would be a risk of the cat tipping the bookcase over. It’s a nice idea, but the clamp needs to be redesigned. But if your desk doesn’t have sides, or you have some other type of table, it’s a neat way to give your cat an extra napping spot.

Purrfect if you work from home
I ordered this for my parents’ office. My mom works from home, and my dad spends a lot of time on the computer in his personal time. They have a tabby cat who loves to be the center of attention, which often times results in him sprawling across the computer desk while they sit there. This little bed was super easy to assemble and clamped right to the side of the desk. It allows their cat to still be close, and for my mom to keep working without his furry butt in the way all the time.

Sturdy, but very unsafe for your cat
The material construction is very solid, and it will hold up a lot of weight just fine…however, the bolt which is tightened against the shaft for horizontal positioning is literally incapable of holding it in place. No human being can tighten the flat bolt against the round shaft enough to hold it in place, it will simply cut a slice into the shaft and continue to spin freely. All of that is to say, if your cat jumps into or out of the bed, it WILL spin, and your cat will find itself with nothing under it anymore. Unless you plan to cut a flat notch in the shaft for the bolt to press against, this item is not safe.

My cat loves it
My cat is always climbing on my desk while I’m working. Now he has a spot of his own and he loves it. I can easily give him some attention without him knocking stuff over. This cat desk bed was simple to put together and set up for him.

You Tell Me!
It doesn’t really matter what I think. This little freeloader’s *(he moved in about 6 months ago) opinion is all that really matters, and he doesn’t think 5 stars are enough. From my end, it looks well made and secure. It was very easily assembled, and wasn’t exactly cheap, but a fair price. And, look at the photos – Tucker thinks it is the height of comfort.

Love at cat’s first sight
Assembly was a breeze and as soon as I got it set up, my cat hopped in it and fell in love. It’s great having her nearby while I work from home. The only downside is that I have an extra thick desk surface, so the clamp is not wide enough to use on it, so I ended up mounting it on a storage cabinet next to my desk. The fabric can be put in the washing machine, which is essential.

Perfect for clingy cats.
Arrived disassembled but easy to put together. Can easily be adjusted to any table top surface no matter the thickness with the adjustable clamp. Both my younger and older cat love this to lay in and take naps as it is the perfect size for small and grown cats and it is very soft. Also supports their weight with no problem. Shown pictured on my kitchen counter but works great on a desk.
