    Didn’t last long
I used these scissors on a freshly washed Bedlington Terrier (he has very fine fur). Almost immediately the tips of the scissors started binding and pinching the fur as I cut with them. After about 10 minutes the middle portion of the scissor blades started binding as thought the blades were already damaged. I stopped using them and returned them for a refund. I am male and wear a medium sized glove. I found the scissor handles to be a bit snug on my fingers/thumb. I could only get one of the provided cushioning rings in. The other one was too large.

    Nicely Weighted, Precision Curved Cuts
These curved dog shears are weighted to feel good in hand. The finger loops and rest are comfortable, and made even more so once you install the two rubber finger rings. The shears cut effortlessly and quietly. There’s a tensioner adjustment screw, a polishing cloth and an ok zippered case (nothing special) included with the shears. The curved blades are good for rounding fur on top of head and trimming any other area where a curve or arch is needed.A word of caution, the 7.5″ shears are large and can cut a lot of fur in one stroke. Take your time, fluff comb twice and carefully cut once so you don’t end up cutting too much fur. I have smaller curved shears for finer trimming, such as around the eyes.I haven’t had these shears long enough to comment on how long they hold their edge or to rate overall durability. As I use them more, should there be quality issues, I will update this review. Initial assessment is that these curved shears are recommended — useful curved blades, cut well and shears feel good in hand.

    Nicer than I first thought
I have a standard poodle who gets professionally groomed roughly every 6 weeks. His hair is ready for grooming roughly every 4 weeks but that’s a schedule I can’t afford. So I do touch ups as needed. I have a pair of professional curved shears, which I like because they help me steer clear of eyes and lips when I am trimming his face. I wanted to try some straight shears to see what I can do along his body.On receiving these my first impression was not great; I looked at the case these come in and it’s of poor quality and poorly sewn, with a zipper I am still fighting with every time I use these. So I didn’t expect much of the shears.Happily, these are some nice grooming shears. They’re balanced, they’re well-made and they were sharp enough at the tips that I could even trim between my boy’s toes. They easily helped me trim some of the overly long body hair while we wait for his next groom appointment. I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I like these.

Hands Down, Best Scissors I’ve Ever Used
These scissors cut beautifully. The scissors that I had been using were absolute garbage so anything would be an improvement. When I saw these scissors I was a bit concerned about the price but I save a lot of money by grooming our dogs at home so I decided to splurge. Well, OMG, these scissors are the bomb. They cut so well that I don’t even hear them cut. They are that smooth. The price no longer seems that outrageous. They truly do deliver. To protect your investment, they come with a storage pouch along with a cleaning cloth and finger rings to help with the grip. I prefer not using them but it’s nice that I have them in case I decide that I need or want them. They are very comfortable and cut great. I’ll be investing in a couple of other sizes as well.

    A Sharp Idea
Any professional Dog Groomer will tell you a quality set of shears is essential, so when we had the opportunity to test these out, we ran with it. (Never run with scissors, kids!) As soon as these arrived I handed them over to the groomer extraordinaire so she could put them through their paces. On first glance and first impressions the stand out feature was the comfortable finger hook on the underside. This made for a steady hold, better dexterity, and faster cutting repetition. Additionally, these things were SUPER sharp and smoothly articulated right out of the box. They were a bit shorter and heavier than the pair of 8” Magix she’s used to. The length made little difference but the weight overall was a slight bulkier than expected, but not entirely uncomfortable. Naturally these shears moved through all sorts of fur types with ease. The packaging was pretty basic and came with a decent case, a cleaning cloth, and two rubber inserts for the finger holes. Doubtful the case or the cloth will get much use (a quick wipe off on the smock is good enough for cleaning) but the inserts were a necessary and appreciated addition. The only thing remaining is whether they will stand up to the abuse over time, and how well they accept a sharpening when the time eventually comes. Looking at the price of $79 there are certainly cheaper options out there, but for Professional Grade (like the Magix and Kenchii Love brands she’s used before) the price is right on point if not towards the lower end of the spectrum. Definitely a solid investment.
