I ordered this Squeaky Rubber Football Toy for Leo, my French bulldog, and it’s been a total touchdown! If your dog loves squeaky toys and a good game of fetch, this one is a must-have.Pros:• Durable Rubber Material: The football is made from sturdy, chew-resistant rubber, which has held up surprisingly well against Leo’s strong little jaws. I bought 2 of the dog football toys. One is great , and the second one is broken! It does not light up! Very disappointed…I realize it was not a lot of money and probably won’t go thru all the hoops of returning it and then buying another one.. I just thought you should know 1 out of 2 of the football toys was broken. The toy was not in a box or even in a little bag. The person filling the order could have bounced each toy to see if it would have lit up:and squeezed it to make sure it made a squeaking noise. Again very disappointed!

My 12 pound Shih Tzu is obsessed with this ball. It’s soft enough that he can make it squeak, and he loves the flashing lights when we play fetch. If you have a medium to large size dog, or one who is an aggressive chewer, this toy is not for them. They come in different sizes, so be sure to check that before ordering. We have the 3.5” size, and it’s very small.

Ordered this for my dog, ordered the purple and received the blue, no instructions on how to get the light to work. It is only 3 inches long and 2 inches in diameter, worried my Lab pup might swallow. I guess he will like it for as long as it last. Not worth the $UPDATE #2: TODAYS DATE MARCH 21, 2023: it’s in the trash. First, the lights stopped flashing, maybe he chomped on it and broke the flashers. And it split 1/4 of the way and I had to pull that end piece off, and since it was completely open and the flasher part was glued inside, I couldn’t take a chance oon him disconnecting the flasher and swallowing it. It was a neat ball and not that expensive but not durable enough for a chewing puppy.UPDATE: I had to increase this to 3 stars bc my dog figured out how to get it to lite up and HE LOVES IT. Didn’t get the color we wanted but thats ok, I see the price is increased from $5 to $6

Fun colors! Was surprised, the color I ‘ordered’ was ot what I got, but it is still the RIGHT ball. Our doggo loves them and will play it to actaul death.They do appear to hold up as well as the prior brands we have had over the years, actaully material is a bit thicker. Our prior ones hold up a little over a year eah and this is ith DAILY use for our yorkie. HE LOVES TO SQUEAK AND SQUEAK ….and squeak it over and over. It is not about the catch for him it is ALL about the squeak and wrestling for it. If you do nto like squeaky toys or they get on your nerves easy be warned it is a LOUD squeak, bu from previous experience that tens to dwindle teh more the doggo love it.

So far to date I’ve purchased three of these Squeak and Light Footballs, two 3.5” sizes and one 4.5” size. Even though there is only 1” inch difference diameter difference between the two footballs it’s important to get the right size for your dog.*** Sizing ***First off This Toy is AWESOME. If you’re wondering which size to get 3.5 inch or 4.5 inch my advice would be to purchase the 3.5″ size for dogs under 15 pounds and the 4.5 inch size for bigger dogs over 15 pounds. One (1) inch difference in size doesn’t seem like much but there is a noticeable difference is overall diameter.*** Differences Between Football Sizes ***In addition to size there are some key differences between the two sizes of Light Up Footballs.The smaller 3.5” football is softer and easier to bite and squeak. The larger 4.5 inch football has bigger spikes or nubs and is harder to squeeze and squeak.The larger 4.5” football has thicker, heavier gauge plastic and would probably last longer if your dog is a hard biter or chewer.••• Inconsistent Performance & Quality Control •••While our dog loves this toy there seems to be a bit of a quality control issue or at least inconsistency with performance when it comes to the light mechanism. The first football we purchased is the best. Shaking the football lightly triggers the light mechanism and it stays lit for 10-15 seconds. Likewise when the football hits the ground or our dog bites it or shakes it the inside LED Light turns on and illuminates the ball. This football worked perfectly and we were so impressed we ordered two more. Sadly the performance of the second and third footballs were not even close to the original football. What’s worse as the more we ordered the worse the performance of the light was.Our second football was the large 4.5” ball. To trigger the internal light you needed to shake the football rapidly and violently to get the light to come on or squeeze it very hard. The light would only illuminate for a couple seconds and go out. Another way to trigger the light was to hit or smash it against the ground. On impact the football would light up for a few seconds and then go dim again. The performance of the second football was about 50% as sensitive as the first and the light illuminated about 50% less.Thinking we got a dud, I ordered a third football (3.5” size again). This third football was the worse of the three and left us very disappointed. To trigger the light on the this football you needed to squeeze and shake the ball violently. The light would illuminate for a few seconds and quickly go out. When you threw the ball or spiked the ball on the ground it was rare the light would illuminate, in fact 90% of the time it did not. We were not happy at all with the third ball we received and sent it back*** Colors •••One last comment is on Colors. The first football was green, the second purple and the third brown. The lighter the outside color of the football the better the transparency and brighter the light. It’s unfortunate they don’t let you pick colors. I would recommend lighter colors if you could pick them. The brown football had the worse performance and dimmest light.••• RECOMMENDATION ***This is a FIVE STAR ***** dog toy “IF” you get a good one. I have no complaints about the first Squeak and Light Football I purchased … in fact I would give that football 6 stars if I could. Unfortunately there seems to be a quality control issue since the second and third footballs lacked the performance of the first. I would give my second football purchase 4 stars and my third purchase only 1 star.Despite the quality control and performance issues I would STILL Recommend this Football in hopes that you get a good one. Thankfully Amazon has good return policies so if you receive a dud, like my third purchase they will allow you to return it for a replacement or refund.This is a FIVE STAR dog toy when it works. If you get a good won your dog will absolutely love it and go crazy for it. I plan to buy another one however I’m going to check and see if they sell them at our local pet stores first so I can try them hands on in the store.

My 20 lb pug loves squeeky spiky toys so bought this football. Lasted a day and the squeek and light went out and we could hear the parts rattling inside but never imagined that the ball would break open and our pug would have access to batteries and several small shards of sharp metal. So glad we found them before he ate them (at least that is what we are hoping), unfortunately this happened because he loved it. Please supervise play.

This brand of football is my pup’s favourite, she has a green one and treats it like a baby so we ordered her a backup a couple months back in case something happened to it (this red one is the backup) we gave it to her a month ago and it stopped squeaking and lighting up right away and now has split right along the edge. She’s not hard on it, doesn’t chew it just carries it around sometimes… so for it to be this beat up after a month tells me it’s just not very durable.
