MUCH easier to use than other kinds
These were easy to use. Nice and sharp, clip quickly and easily. No fuss. They have a protective plate, supposedly to prevent you from clipping too deep, but it didn’t help with that. I have to feed my dog a treat and massage her in between clips because she hates having her nails clipped, but I’m able to do it and they turn out great. Would love to have some instructions on the box as to how to angle the blade and how much to cut off. I had the guillotine kind before, which quickly got dull and didn’t work very well. These are much better.

    Great little clippers
As a groomer I go through the clippers and I’ve had several pairs of these. The small size are great but the large ones were a disappointment. The large ones pinch the toenail before they cut causing the dog significant discomfort. Won’t buy the large size again but the small ones are great

    Perfect for small dogs.
These cut cleanly. I tape the safety guard out of the way for easier use. I recommend these clippers.

    Works great on my maltese
Works great on my maltese! Love these clippers. Super easy to use, and cuts smoothly. Fits great in your hand as well.

    GREAT CLIPS!
These were a little scary at first, but they are obviously very sharp and work just great for our one and only chihuahua/dachshund mix. Keeping our loved one very still, and don’t go past the flat metal back to gauge how far to clip above the “quick”. He has some black/brown nails and hard to see the quick, but the gauge does that for second guess work and has no problems with cutting too far. Only use when needed and not frequent, so no mechanical issues for us! Yay! 🙂

Sharp, smooth, easy to use on small toes
I’ve bought several pairs of these due to misplacing them. Every pair has been the same tho, awesome for little toes on my tiny Chihuahua (6lb) Reach between toenails, perfect. Sharp so they don’t snag, misfire, or leave jagged edges. I love these, she does not lol. But she doesn’t hate these like other clippers we’ve tried. These work perfectly. Quick & done!

    Blunt -Dull
I was hoping to get new nail clippers for my dog. I can use them but they don’t clip/cut as well as the ones I was trying to replace. So not really worth it besides having an easier grip to the device.

I bought 2 pairs of these and both of the locking tabs are faulty, they are very loose and fall in to places locking the clippers every time I use them

I purchased medium-sized nail clippers for a medium-sized dog.Pros:- The grip is nice.- The mechanism works smoothly and effortlessly.Cons:- Mine came with a big notch in the blade, as if they had been used to cut wire.- The guard (which exists to prevent you from cutting too much off your dog’s nail) is useless. My dog is on the large side of medium, and if I used the guard on these clippers, it would cut his nails WELL past the quick! The guard seems to be designed for giant breed dogs, so I’m not sure why it was installed on a medium-sized nail clipper.- The handles are best suited for very small hands. If you have medium to large hands, you may find these uncomfortable to use.

The size I ordered is made for a medium dog such as our terrier cross. Order the size that is right for your dog.Having her claws clipped is always a happy event for my dog if I do it at home on our coach. I choose a time when both my dog and I are relaxed and mellow, and I make sure that I am calm and confident. The best way for me to cut my dog’s claws is for she and I to sit on the couch together and have a relaxing time. I tell her how much I like her, and stroke her gently as I deep breathe slowly and yawn a bit to relax both of us: my dog copies me and breathes deeply and slowly and yawns as well, starting to mellow out and feel very relaxed. Then I give her a slow, gentle massage to relax her even more and get her enjoying the handling of her legs and feet. I play with her legs and feet until she’s relaxed and mellowed out. My playing with her feet includes holding on to a foot and stoking one or more claws. She feels safe and trusting and I feel calm and confident. Then I alternate the massage and playing with legs and feet with clipping a claw or two and keep telling her what a nice dog she is. She has never been afraid of the clippers at all and enjoys the whole process. It is very important that you get very familiar your dog’s claw and see how it’s made and how close to the end or how far back the fleshy part is, and that you look carefully for the quick. This can be an activity all by itself, for a few minutes a day for a week until you get used to what to look for and your dog gets used to you handling his or her feet and claws. Your vet will love you for this, too. It’s much easier for a vet to examine and care for a dog if the owner has taught them that it’s safe and normal to have their paws and legs stroked and picked up.Only after handling your dog’s legs and feet goes smoothly and is familiar to your dog should you consider clipping. If you clip when you are scared, your dog will be scared too, and pull away, which can harm their claw.If you’ve never clipped claws before, get your vet or an experienced dog owner to show you the quick on your own dog’s claws and show you where to cut.Never yank on your dog’s foot and always stay away from the quick, which is the reddish living part easily seen in a clear claw. With a dark claw, you have to rely on leaving the nail longer than the place where the fleshy part is inside the claw. If you make it safe and fun, your dog will take it in stride and be relaxed and happy. Your dog will have her claws at the length that is healthiest for her and both of you will be relaxed and happy about the clipping process. I am not a vet and you should talk to your vet to make sure you know where to cut before you start chopping away at your dog’s claws. Relaxed home clipping is easiest on both you and your dog, and it takes knowledge and preparation.
