Wears out the kitten!
I have two of these. The 10 week old kitten we just got is VERY high energy, and we need to wear him out so that the other cat isn’t harassed by him. This does the trick. One of the squids is detached from the stick and he loves to carry it around in his mouth and free play with it. The other newer one puts him into olympic level acrobatics.

My cat loves this toy
My cat literally tore up the first one with 2 weeks. She will pull it down from where ever I place it and drag the pole and all. She got it stuck on her cat tree and pulled the tassels off. Now that I have bought another, I leave it on the floor and she will drag the pole and all up and down the stairs. She gets so excited if I reach down towards the floor thinking that I am reaching for the toy.

Cat chewed through string in 20 seconds.
Within 20 seconds of my cat playing with this toy he had chewed through the elastic string.He then proceeded to eat it until I intervened.I really wanted to like this toy as I feel it was made with integrity by people who care, however unless a more durable material is used for the elastic I can only surmise that others will experience this exact result.Please consider a more robust material and I will buy again.Sending back for return.

Loved to Death by My Cats
As many have stated, this cat toy is an absolute favorite for my boys. My one-year-old cat figured out where I hid it originally and STILL climbs my hall stand to look for it. Unfortunately, I didn’t keep track of it and the boys got ahold of it when I was sleeping. They bit right through the elastic string. The pole and tassel are in great shape, but after multiple breaks and tying the string back together over a year, my first one is done for. The boys are driving me nuts wanting to play with a toy that is super dead. Ordering a new one today and hoping I can keep track of it better while I think of how to utilize the original pieces in the meantime.

CRAZY FOR TOY
Both of our cats go totally NUTSO for this toy. We have to be careful because they will grab it and pull so hard it comes apart and they run off with it. One of my cats even growls when she catches it. They LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I have never seen them get so crazy over any other toy.

Krazy for Kracken
My cats LOVE this new version of the Kracken wand. In the last 18 months, I have purchased several* of the earlier version which had more, but thinner, pieces of suede. They liked those, but they go CRAZY for the new design, which has fewer, but wider and softer suede strips. Even my 2-year old couch kitty jumps and plays with this one. It has earned one of the biggest compliments for cat toy “prey:” When they catch it, my girls carry it in their mouths in a low crouch crawl to a private place to “incapacitate and eat.”Update: 2/7/2022*I would now reduce my rating even more, down to a 2. With only a couple seconds of biting, my cats have broken the elastic on the wand again. It is way too expensive to keep replacing this toy every month. Even if I am vigilant and pull the toy away when they get too interested in the elastic, it only takes a quick bite for them to break through. Please consider changing the elastic to a more durable material like suede or ?*The reason I did not give it 5 stars is that like another review, I have found that my cats chew through the elastic string quite easily. That’s why I had to buy several replacements in only 18 months. It would be great if a more durable elastic material could be used. Then it would definitely get 5 stars!
