    Fun but a bit overpriced
A little more difficult to assemble than other scratchers we have, but we got it done. The cats like it, although I don’t find it as sturdy as some of our cheaper boxes– for that alone, I do think this one is a little overpriced.

    Cats Like It
I have two three-year-old cats. They are fairly rambunctious and love to claw things. I thought this would help them to have something to claw. I can report that one definitely loves to sharpen his claws on the base of this. The first time I scattered the catnip in it, they went crazy. Appears they love it.As for ease of putting together…read the instructions. It comes with pegs and glue. You need to make sure you get the pegs into the right holes because you don’t put them in every single one. You dab glue, and put in the tab. Once you got all the tabs into the right holes, now comes the interesting part. Matching them. First, you put glue into each hole, then insert the tab into the hole you just put glue in. While I did do this and it did work, I can see some people might be a little frustrated by it. Also, it needs to set for about 24 hours as the glue needs to adequately dry. Once did all this, then it was easy to put the pad in and I was in business. It seems sturdy. One of my cats is hefty. He will sometimes lay in it and it is holding him. Of course, he looks a little silly lying in it because he is so big. But hey….he likes it.Overall, it is a good product and I’m glad that I got this.

    Decent Cat Scratcher Box
For $25 is an okay item. Based on the other reviews I didn’t mess with the included ‘cat nip’ and threw it away so I can’t comment on that. The assembly was fine – though the instructions assemble the box in an order that actually makes things more difficult. You should put the center sections together THEN slide the end pieces on. The glue is a bit annoying to deal with, and I barely had enough. The tip on the bottle of glue wouldn’t thread back on after I removed the cap. Once together it was okay, and it isn’t difficult to assemble. I just would prefer screws… but, screws likely wouldn’t work with the cheap particle board it uses.Another complaint I have is that when the cats are scratching, the cardboard comes up and smacks down (with the underside creating like an echo chamber – amplifying the noise).Overall, my cats like it – but the design and part quality could be much, much better.

Let it rip- super cardboard cat bed that saves ur furniture
My kitties had a chance to give this bed a try and they loved it! It’s become so popular & the cats are battling over ownership; I think I should get a 2nd one. My cats love cardboard scratching pads, so this was right up their alley. Honestly, they didn’t care if it was a bed or a perch; they scratched it, rubbed themselves all over it, and really love it. My kitties gave their 2 paws up, and I agree with them. It keeps them busy and gives them something new to rip up, instead of my couches. It’s also small and has a smooth, clean look and modern design, which I really liked. The description mentions “super cardboard”- they’re not kidding. The cats have been ripping at it for days, and it barely shows any claw damage. I searched and didn’t find a replacement for the cardboard scratcher, but I would like to know if they offer one or if the insert is standard and can be found anywhere. Overall-it’s a winner. Your cats and furniture will thank you.

  5. There’s Cat Hair on This

    Cat approved
Right off the bat my cats were interested in this before I got it put together so that’s a big win. All cat owners know how nervous bringing something new into the house can make you, either they love it or they don’t.The package comes with dowels, a tube of glue, and a small packet of organic silver vine. Each piece has some double-sided tape around the edges too for extra security. Assembly was pretty easy, less so because I had a cat sitting on the pieces and getting fur on the glue.I like the grey color, very modern. It’s on the smaller side but my fat 15 lb-er fits (if he fits, he sits!), the size is perfect if you don’t want a big bulky cat couch. The design is slick. If I had any complaint it would be that the included slab of cardboard doesn’t seem to have a ton of scratch to it. I don’t know how to explain it but my cats can’t really dig deep into it, you know? They still like it so in that sense it works. If my one weird cat pees on it then I’ll know for sure this is a winner as far as the felines are concerned.

My cat liked the drugs and nothing else.
This really didn’t do it for my cat. She liked the silver vine powder, it got her to jump on this perch and roll around on it when it was first set up a few days ago, but she hasn’t willingly touched it since then. The the scratch-surface is made up of some stiff woven cardboard which not resemble the sort of things I have seen cats use for scratching, and it seems like it would be be very comfortable as a bed (hence why I assume she does not use it).I was hoping to give her a new scratching alternative so I can get rid of her giant post, but it seems it is not meant to be. It might work for other cats, but at this price point, it looks like there are other bed/scratchpost alternatives that have a bit more going for them.

Cat loves it but longevity undecided
The cat bed/scratcher is a success with our cat. When he comes into the room it is sitting in, he usually sits on it.The bed/scratcher requires no tools to assemble. It is put together with wood glue, dowels, and 3M tape. It is easy to put together. The reason we gave it 4 stars is because we don’t think it will last very long. The materials are a very light weight particle board with the scratch pad made of cardboard. My third picture shows after 2 days of the cat using it. you can already see it is beginning to get torn up.One “extra touch” that was included was some organic Silvervine powder. We had never heard of it before, so we had to google it and learned it is very similar to catnip. Our cat got very playful after using it.
