For bored and you adore your cat
If you love your young or old cat. This toy is a winner and maybe scary at first to you furry family member. I absolutely love the quality of the innerds quality battery and recharges. I bought two of them he loves it but if I can’t find one I find the other one. They’re like a babysitter when you’re out shopping. You have to get used to the sounds of crashes on doors, walls, anything and if you give your neighbors a heads up they might enjoy it when you show them and give them a test run. But if there’s anything valuable don’t try showing those neighbors tootells and meow

My cats love this thing. Even my chihuahuas chase after it. Highly recommend for a cat that needs entertaining!

Not the most natural shape to attract cats
The Saolife rolling cat toy moves and teases cats pretty well on hardwood and medium pile carpet. The cats aren’t as interested in this caterpillar-like toy compared to a similar toy with a feather on a long tail, but they still go for it. When on, there’s always a light wasting some power and it never turns off, but it does stop moving for an hour at a time if not touched, moving for 1 minute each hour.It has a fast (blue light), slow (purple light), and interactive (yellow light) mode. In fast and slow, it moves randomly for 5 mins before entering standby, but that 5 min timer resets if it detects being touched. In interactive mode it only moves when touched. It’s very sensitive – the smallest tap gets it moving again. Its movements are randomized and it seems to do three things: rolling forward or back, or wiggling its tail up and down tauntingly. It has no intelligence and will roll against an object without stopping, it usually gets unstuck by rolling the opposite direction. It seems designed to detect when it’s held down and the motor will stop trying to roll the ball if it detects too much resistance. I think it keeps trying to move more gently till it detects it’s free to roll again. The toy picks up hair quickly. The tail is held to the ball by a plastic C shape that can be bent apart to remove the C without unscrewing anything, and this lets you easily remove hair from the rotating part. But if you shed like we do, you might have to do some hair raking before your cats play with the toy.It comes with one extra tail in case the first gets destroyed. However, it’s very difficult to unclip a tail once it’s on, and the clip is proprietary rather than being a simple screw thread that might work with other tails. The toy charges at 5V on a USB-A or USB-C PD port and comes with a USB-A to C adapter. Saolife’s been selling pet toys since at least April 2023, so hopefully they will stick around to support their products.Overall, I dock a star because I don’t think a giant caterpillar plays to the natural hunting instincts of cats as much a feathers and fur do, and I also wish the lights would turn off after awhile to save power.

    Cat toy becomes Dogtoy!
This toy is a big hit at our house! The only problem is we bought it for the cats and the dogs wont let them have it for a second. It’s a dog toy now.

    Great toy, great value
This is a very cool little toy. My cat almost never plays. It’s just not really her thing. And while she still doesn’t “play” with this, it at least gets her attention. She curiously follows it around. The interface can be a little difficult to remember, as it’s all based on a single button. At least one of the modes has the thing automatically come to life every hour or so. If you accidentally leave it on this, you’ll be suddenly woken up in the middle of the night wondering if there’s an intruder in the house. Also, it can have a tendency to get stuck behind furniture, which can be really annoying as it basically loudly vibrates against the wall. I liked the idea of having it be a sort of companion to my cat while I’m away at work, but the fact that it gets stuck and becomes obnoxious makes me like that idea less.

    Great toy!
The year old cat was not quite as enthusiastic about this interactive cat toy from Saolife as the Labrador Retrievers were. The product comes partially charged in a small box complete with charging cable along with an extra “tail”. Looks just like the photos shown in the description. The only assembly required is to snap the tail into the “head” and turn it on to the desired setting. I kept it on the motion activated sensing mode and the cat would touch it and it would speed off. The labs had to be locked in another room due to them trying to get at the moving toy, and I’m sure if I had let them, they would have chewed it to bits. The cat is still hesitant, but she IS interacting with it, tapping it with her paw, then going to higher ground to observe. The ball itself is a bit heavy as cat toys go, so I’m not expecting the cat to pick it up, but it works very well, works on carpet, tile, wood floors. Seems to get itself stuck in a corner from time to time, but then seems to figure out a way to reverse out of it and go in another direction. It makes some noise, but it’s not an annoying sound, especially if you’re used to animals playing. Seems to be a sturdy toy for cats (not so much for dogs – although they are more intrigued by it). The cat is just playing it cool and observing for now, but she is curious, she’s just trying to figure out why this new toy moves and none of her others don’t. Definitely start on the “slow” mode if your cat is skittish, it takes some time to them to fully get used to it, but is definitely intriguing her. At this point in time would I buy it again?? Yup, it’s a good addition to our pet toy box.
