   sturdy, nice-looking bed for cat or very small dog
   After receiving this item, it definitely feels more like a cat bed, but I actually ordered this for my tiny (9 pound) dog. As soon as I dropped this on the floor, he immediately ran over and jumped in! Even as a tiny dog, he fits snugly in this bed and it probably would be too small for any animal larger than a cat.The material is a beige/toupe/straw color, and feels quite rough to the touch. This is definitely a sturdy material that should stand up fairly well to scratching, clawing and everyday use. The cushioning in the middle (between the animal and the floor) felt a bit thin a first, but the dog seems to love this so I suspect it’s just right. The cushioned sides/edges are smaller than on our other dog beds — not surprising as this seems intended for a cat.There is a non-stick coating on the bottom side, but on my vinyl floors with no dog (or cat, or other weight) inside, it does just slide around. With quick testing, it does seem to help a lot when the dog is inside the bed, but he also panics and jumps out when I try to drag it around.The look of the bed is sleek and inconspicuous enough that it won’t stand out like a sore thumb in a living room or den, which is nice. The material does not feel like it will easily stain, but it also says it is machine washable so if it does, so that’s another big plus.Overall, high quality product that should provide value over many years — and my dog already approves!

   A bit small, but my cats love it
   Our two Siamese cats spend a lot of their days lounging on our large screened lanai, where they can “stalk” the critters they see just outside the screen or sleep in the sun. We’re always looking for cat beds that will make their slumber more comfortable, and this cat bed has proven to be a favorite.Both our cats are under 10 pounds, so they’re small enough to enjoy this cat bed individually. But it definitely is too small for them to share (and that is why I docked it a star, since the seller indicates it can accommodate larger pets … but it can’t).I like the jute construction, as it should resist mildew from the humid environment. The cats like the texture for scratching, but it still is comfortably soft. And, as the product ad copy points out, cats like the bolster on the perimeter for resting their heads. One of our cats has taken a particular liking to this bed, and always uses the side as a pillow.If you have a small cat or dog of no more than 12 pounds, this bed will work well for you, and for your pet. Larger animals will just spill over the sides. If you have a Maine Coon, this bed is not for your cat.But for my cats it works well, the construction seems sturdy enough, and the materials seem quite robust.UPDATES: I will update this review if my future experience with this product warrants any revision of my review and/or rating.

   My cats are in love!!
   I have four cats, and they all have their own very distinct personality, and until now, the only thing they could all agree that they loved was food.  There are now two things, because I have seen all four of them in this bed at one time or another.  I don’t know if they have a schedule worked out between them or if it’s a “move your meat, lose your seat” kind of thing, but there’s almost ALWAYS one of my cats in it!  I wasn’t sure when I first got it how they were going to feel about it because the entire inside lining is that hard, scratchy, twine-like scratching material, but that is apparently a non-issue for my felines!  I’m starting to think I’m going to have to buy another one (or maybe four!) of these so that they don’t have to take turns.  (Fourth cat not pictured, but she’s the sneaky, elusive type.  I have seen her in the bed, I just haven’t caught it on camera!)Big white boy is almost 20 pounds and the two girls are about 10 pounds, so that gives you some reference for the size of the bed.

   The bed is a little small for an adult cat however, if your cat is the type of “if I fits, I sits” cat then this is for them! As soon as I laid the bed down (straight out of the shipping box) my cat went to it, laid down, started plucking it and claimed it. I like that the material is a little rough, perfect for plucking away at it instead of plucking my couch and shredding it to pieces. So if your sweet cat fancies a nice piece of furniture to shred, make sure to place better pluckable/shreddable pieces of furniture for them next to your couch to teach them theres a better place to do that at.

   Good bed, good martial, little cushion.
   Bed comes pre assembled unlike many other pet beds I’ve purchased off Amazon so it was very easy to just take it out of the package and throw it down somewhere. Immediately I could tell the scratch material is of high quality just from holding the it. The size is a little deceptive as they must use a smaller cat in the picture because the bed is fairly small. I have had it about a week or so now and it has held up great against 4 small dogs that have claimed it over any cat. My honest opinion I don’t think the value is there at $30 because of the size and the fact there’s very little cushion. Only time will tell how long it holds up and that may influence my opinion differently.

   Not Worth the Price
   This bed isn’t any good to be entirely honest. I get that it is supposed to be dual purpose as a scratcher and bed, but it has minimal padding and is quite rough to the touch. There really isn’t any substance to the bed compared to the many others I have at the same price point. For the price, I expected a better quality product. Other reviewers seem to like it, so consider their perspective – but I personally dislike it and it isn’t my cats favorite – thats for sure.

   Nice, but…
   The bed is nice. It looks great and feels soft and one would think it would be fairly comfortable. However, Anna the cat, had other ideas. She won’t use it! She was literally splayed out on the floor lying next to it!
