Developed holes and no patch kit
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I bought four of these and we have to Fold them in half to fit in our freezer. Two of them ended up with holes (likely due to unfolding when frozen).  So we duct taped them. Not a great fix I know but that worked for a while and we added a pillowcase to help them last longer with all the puppies. Eventually the duct tape stop sticking and again the gel like substance oozed everywhere. A quick search told me it should be non toxic so yeah. Half broke, 1 is garbage and 1 is limping along about a month later. I do recommend a pillowcase.

    Very nice pad!
So I didn’t read the instructions very well because I thought this was just going to be water filled. I proceeded to fill up as much water as I could, I can’t remember exactly the amount the paperwork mentions, but I didn’t have a way of measuring and I didn’t think it needed to be precise at the time.. I was wrong, however I think I got most of it in and was very surprised to find the next day it had turned to gel. If I had been a little more diligent in my reading of the materials that came with the product I would have been aware of what I was doing and would have made sure to put the proper amount of water in and removed all the excess air. Since I didn’t read those directions, I created a lot of extra work for myself the next day by removing the air bubbles, which is very hard to do with gel. After all my extra work that I put on myself from being lazy, I put the mat out and my dogs would not take two steps near it for a month or so, I’m not sure if the smell had to wear off, not that I smelled anything, but eventually they started laying on it when they got used to it, but it was a slow process. I’m glad they have a little area that they can lay down on when it gets extra warm, I haven’t tried putting it in the fridge yet but now that it’s starting to get warm I will try that soon. I like the size and the quality of the product I just wish I had been a little more diligent in reading the instructions so I didn’t have to go back and get those bubbles out, learn from my mistake!

Maybe Your Dog Will Like It
There are two aspects to consider when it comes to this cooling mat.The first is how usable it is. In my case, I find it to be not very usable. I may be stupid, or there may have been an instruction sheet I didn’t see, but filling the pad was a bit of a disaster. I figured I could fill it from my faucet and then drain off any excess. This is not the case. The mat is filled with some kind of gel-forming powder. As I filled the mat, the water seemed to stay at the top of the mat (held vertically), and some flowed down to the bottom. I could not get the water to migrate to the center chambers. At that point, I tried to add more water to fill the center, but the water would not flow in at all, and the gel does not seem to flow from one chamber to another over time. So the mat is overfilled at the ends and underfilled in the middle. I obviously didn’t do it right, but there is no documentation to tell me what I should have done differently. My blunders aside, my dogs just don’t seem to like the mat. They will walk on it, and even lie down on it if I put it on an existing pad. But even after lying on it a couple of times that way, they seem to prefer to lie on the tile floor NEXT to the mat rather than lying on the mat itself.. But maybe my dogs are idiots. Finally, there’s the material and contents to think about. My dogs have nails and aren’t afraid to use them. My pit is also a chewer, and he’s not picky about what he chews on. This mat seems to be something that will invite chewing, and I am concerned about what is in the gel stuff. There’s nothing to indicate whether it is truly non-toxic, or what ingestion of large quantities might do to a dog even if it IS non-toxic.If you avoid having filling issues, and your dogs like the mat, and you aren’t concerned about your pet violating or ingesting the pad or its contents, this mat might work for you. For me, it is a no-go.

  4. Daniel Patrick

Cooler Than Zeus Floating in the Pool (Almost)
Everyone knows Texas summers are legendary – hot enough to turn sidewalks into griddles and melt ice cream cones before you’ve had the first lick. Now imagine enduring all that heat wearing a permanent fur coat. That’s what our legendary longhair dachshund, Zeus, faces every summer.Zeus loves to float in our pool (always within a paw’s reach of Mrs. Patrick – he sticks to her like Texas barbecue sauce on ribs). But when pool time ends, he usually resorts to sprawling out on the cool tile floor, sighing dramatically, no doubt dreaming of a nice, chilly float.Enter the Renjie Dog Cooling Mat. This water-injection mat has basically become Zeus’s new summer throne. The tech here is simple yet brilliant – fill it with water, and it solidifies into a perfectly cool, comfy pad that keeps your pup’s temperature down even in triple-digit Texas heat. Eco-friendly, safe, and without any electricity or weird gels involved, it’s just smart engineering for overheated doggos.Honestly, Zeus now looks like he’s “floating” blissfully on dry land – he couldn’t be happier. It’s portable enough to move inside or outside and super easy to clean (important when you have a dachshund who thinks he rules both realms). Plus, Renjie offers sizes that’ll fit everything from your chihuahua to your mastiff. Now, all Zeus needs is a Hera to share his mat (wait – what am I saying?). But hey, two dachshunds floating on a cool cloud sounds like double the legendary fun to me.Zeus-approved and Patrick-household-certified.Summary:If your pup is feeling the summer burn, this cooling mat is the chill solution they’ve been dreaming of. Zeus wouldn’t lie – he’s a dachshund, not a politician.Pros:✅ Easy, water-injection cooling✅ Safe and eco-friendly (no electricity or chemicals)✅ Simple to clean✅ Portable for indoors or out✅ Available in multiple sizes for any pupCons:❌ You might need another mat if Hera arrives.🏅 Verdict:Zeus gives it two paws up – cool comfort without breaking a sweat.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 stars – Legendary cooling!)
