Purrfect! But NOT for Scaredy Cats or Small Kittens…
A different kind of interactive toy for chasing and running from, but not really for catching. It was fantastic for my just under a year kitten-cat who is very outgoing and curious. Although, even he had some moments when this toy would come straight at him… it took him some time to get a feel for it. That said, he played with it until he was panting, and when I tried to put it away, he was having none of it.The toy’s body is 2-3 inches in diameter with two attachments; one simple, cotton tail and the other with a fancier tail. It comes with a charging cord, no plug. The actions include flipping back & forth, running various distances before flipping and, my favorite, an irresistible “wounded bird” where the ball stops and flutters the tail.This guy does a good job of getting out of most areas and actually cleaned out a few dust bunnies and ping pong balls while bumping about under furniture. On that note, hair and fibers do get wrapped around the central pin, so I clean it regularly to prevent jamming down the line. It also has quite a bit of heft, weighing the same as a golf ball. Since it can run a distance, it bangs into things rather hard and bangs about over and over whenever impeded. I would probably have some concerns if I had fragile things on the floor. That is why I would not recommend it for smaller kittens… I think it might really scare them and possibly hurt if it ran into a nose or paw or tail.There are settings for three modes that have accompanying lights, blue for fast, purple for slow and green for interactive (although my instructions said yellow… there was no yellow). Purple was really not very slow, which is a shame as a slower setting might help a cat adjust better… I’m not sure I would even use the fast setting as there is enough velocity with the “slow”… another reason I would not use this toy with smaller kittens. It tackled area rugs with ease.For my outgoing, year-old cat, who wasn’t afraid of dogs as a kitten of 3 pounds, this was a very cool toy for pent up energy. I also liked that the packaging was minimal rather than a bunch of worthless plastic inserts.

Toy gets your cat’s attention, but operation and instructions seem different than shown
This is a USB-C powered rechargeable cat toy. I found it to be a lot better than what I was expecting. When in “Fast Mode” (the blue light) it actually moves quite fast and can cover a good amount of distance. It definitely gets my cat’s attention. That said her reaction is more “What is this?” and a type of curiosity mixed with perhaps a small amount of fear which is common for cats. I don’t believe she is mistaking it for a mouse at all.The included instructions for this toy work as expected save for turning it off. The instructions for my version state that to turn it off you merely hold down the button for two seconds. But I have found this usually doesn’t work. Even holding the button down for 30 seconds doesn’t seem to turn it off. I still haven’t actually figured out exactly how to reliably turn off this toy. What usually happens is that I just end up pressing it a few times with various combinations of delays and rapid presses and one of them suddenly just works and shuts it down. I wish I knew the exact sequence that works to turn it off but so far it escapes me (if I figure it out, I will update this review!). This might seem like a big deal but it’s really not a big problem. In practice it just means an extra 5-120 seconds fiddling around with it and desperately trying to turn it off as it goes crazy in your hand while your cat looks on in amusement. It’s also entirely possible i am just doing something wrong and missing something obvious.4/5 stars. I do like it but the off function is a little different than stated in the instructions and also my cat just doesn’t go crazy over it. It definitely gets her attention and keeps her from getting too bored, however. So overall it’s a win and a thumbs up.Update: after several more days of use I now notice it seems to only last anywhere from 30 seconds to two minutes before shutting off automatically. This happens no matter which color I select using the button. I also notice that if I hit the button (even without holding it down as per the instructions) it will indeed shut down the unit as long as a color is currently lit up on the toy. Overall though I feel like the toy does not even substantially match the instructions for the item. It vaguely resembles it but operation (at least for the unit i received) is substantially different. Therefore, I am deducting a star and making this 3/5 stars. It’s a shame because initially i had very high hopes for this toy. Regardless of the issues, it does get my cat’s attention for a minute or two when it actually works.

My cats’ new favorite toy!
This is one of the greatest things I’ve ever ordered for my cats on Amazon. 3 out of 5 of them are enthralled by it and will play with it until the juice runs out. It lasts roughly an hour on a full charge. My most annoying cat loves it the most, so it’s a godsend. I just turn it on when I need him out of my hair for a bit and it works like a charm to keep him entertained. Even the 2 cats that don’t care for it still like to find a high perch and watch the others play.You can use it as just the ball, or with the two included attachments. Of those three options, my cats like the “shoelace” attachment the best. They love trying to catch it by the tail, just like they would a mouse in the wild.My only gripe with this product is that the battery seems finnicky and will only charge using a weak wall adapter or USB-A port. It wouldn’t charge at all using my phone charger. I nearly gave it a bad review, thinking it was broken, until I thought to try using my laptop to charge it. That worked, and I was also able to find a really old phone charger that also worked. It’s not a huge deal, but something to be aware of and the company really should include the adapter to solve this problem.Overall, great product, especially for the current $10 price. Your cats will be very happy with it!
