All around great product that is currently saving us several hundred dollar.s
So my girlfriends BoxerBull HATES having his nails clipped. He freaks out no matter how hard we try to make it a positive experience. He simply hates the feeling of his very large nails being cut. His nails are pretty big and his old nail clippers caused them to splinter some times due to this. After seeing how quickly our vet could clip his nails with similar clippers to these we decided to buy a pair.Don’t get me wrong, he still fusses up a storm and kicks me in the face but now it is actually possible to clip all of his nails in one go. We don’t have to pay for them to be clipped anymore which will save us a good deal since his nails have become over grown. We were even thinking of opting to pay the several hundred dollars for the procedure to cut them back down.I don’t believe we will need to be doing that anymore. These are sharp , safe and easy to use. It has a guard on the back so that we aren’t afraid of cutting to much and getting his wick. Which was for us a big fear since he always pulls his legs and causes us to missfire. They also don’t require nearly as much hand strength or force that our old ones needed. Which causes us to have to take multiple breaks. His nails haven’t splintered yet since we started using these and the clips are neat and clean. I didn’t know what to expect at this price point but these are absolutely fantastic. I won’t completely dread having to spend half an hour sweating and fighting my dog to get half his nails clipped.I am extremely glad I bought these. They work great on puppies too. All around great product.

    Pooch Pedicures Made Easy!
My poor old spaniel is getting up there in years. Blind as a bat, going deaf, and his hips are giving out. All he has left is his appetite and tummy rubs. Taking him to the groomer is stressful for him–and sheer anguish for me. I can’t shave his fur in the summer, but I can spare him the visits just for nail trimming…now that I’ve discovered the Safari Professional Pet Nail Trimmer. The clippers are surprisingly easy to use, the cut is clean and precise, and you don’t need tremendous pressure to cut straight through. I was afraid of hitting the dreaded quick and making my little guy bleed, but a quick check on Google for nail cutting tips (and simple but excellent instructions on the packaging of these clippers) made that a non-problem too. Just look at the underside of the dog’s nail. Even on blackest nails, you can see the pinker or lighter part of the nail, which is the quick. Place the clippers a bit above that (in the direction away from the foot pad) and you’re fine. My first time clipping Stanley nails was a cinch. And believe me, this dog has feet the size of saucers and nails to match. Thick as pinky fingers.I waited until Stanley was sleeping (he has never been a dog with lightening like reflexes…even as a youngster, people meeting him for the first time always thought he was dead, took a paw, checked to see where the “quick” ended and ‘snip’ — that fast, that simple. About halfway through the pedicure he woke up, but not sensing any food in the immediate area, dozed back off again so I could complete the job.My niece has a little poodle who is also pushing the envelope in terms of age. However, her dog doesn’t have my Stanley’s sweet disposition and is on the No Fly List at most of the groomers in town. She asked me if I’d do the dog’s nails for her. I guess she figured I’m older and have less to live for. Anyway, we got a big pile of treats ready. My niece kept tossing them into the dog’s mouth, distracting her, while I went to work on the nails. This is the same trick my manicurist uses with me and it worked equally well with the dog.If you’ve been considering trimming your dog’s nails yourself, these are a very good tool. Dogs’nails grow very quickly; they need frequent trimming. The nails are connected to the leg bones and when they get too long, can jar the animal and make walking uncomfortable–particular in dogs with hip problems and/or arthritis and other joint issues. These affordable clippers cost about what a single nail clipping does at the groomers, so it’s money well spent.

    Amazing!
These are incredibly sharp and heavy duty. They cut clean through with no crushing. We have two dogs, one with butter-soft nails, the other are rock hard. These cut through both with ease. Worth every penny!!

    Good Clippers
A few years ago my family and I moved from the city to a farm. In the city my dog’s nails were never a problem because she got all her exercise on pavement, which kept them naturally filed down. However, after moving to the farm I began to notice that her nails were getting quite long, with no concrete around to keep them filed.I knew nothing about trimming a dog’s nails so I purchased a cheap pair of clippers and went to work. The cheap clippers were difficult to use: they were not very sharp and the experience was bad for me and my dog.I finally realized that I would need to spend a little more money to get a good pair of clippers. That’s when I found the Safari Professional Nail Trimmer. When I received the trimmers I was immediately pleased. I could tell right away the blades were much sharper than the cheap pair I had, they cleanly cut through the nails very easily. My favorite thing is the “safety stop” behind the blades. You just put the trimmer over the dog’s nail until it hits the safety stop and make your cut. No more guessing where the quick is.This is a good product and nail trimming time has become much easier and less stressful for me and my dog.

    Amazing!
I work as a professional dog groomer, and I needed a smaller pair of nail clippers. These are perfect!! I recommend these for both groomers and pet parents alike.

My vet was impressed, but said there too small for my dog (20 kg)So better size information would have been more helpful.

My dog hates getting her nails cut. She has black nails and has had them cut too short in the past which has proven very traumatic to her so she just generally doesn’t like the whole process even though she is the sweetest dog ever and is usually extremely easy going. But taking her to a professional groomer on a regular basis just to get her nails done was expensive and a pain in the butt and I just didn’t have the time so it wasn’t getting done as often as it should which isn’t good for her. So I decided to give doing her nails myself another go. But I wanted to make sure I got the best clippers possible and did my research first. I read all the reviews and finally settled on these. They really are as good as everyone says they are. They are nice and sharp and really strong so they go straight through the nail instead of crunching down painfully like some of the cheaper models. This makes the process quick and easy so I have been able to slowly get her adjusted to getting them done and it has been going well. I don’t know how long they will stay sharp for but as soon as they start getting dull, I will definitely purchase another pair.Would highly recommend!

To be totally honest, I was not expecting much from these but I took a chance. These are not the first clippers I have tried, I must have tried 6-8 different ones prior to this from various pet stores (most more expensive than these). My dogs nails are very difficult to cut, they are boxers so they have very thick nails. Most clippers would damage the nail and never provide a good clean cut – frustrating for both me and the dogs. However much to my surprise, these were VERY easy to use, and provided a perfect clean cut every time. My girl – who by the way never likes her nails cut – let me cut her nails without a fit (which is HUGE because I usually need to wrestle her into position to let me cut her nails). I was able to cut all her nails within the time it usually took me to do about 3 nails on her, colour me impressed!Very sharp, very easy to use, nail guard is sturdy, good size, not awkward to hold & you can pick them up for a fraction of what regular retail stores charge for similar products (which may I add do not work nearly as well). Great value and I can now look forward to cutting my dogs nails rather than dreading it. Thank you!
