Works well, mixed reactions from my five cats
It’s a darling toy. The pom pom shooter arrives with 100 multi-colored, soft pom pom balls in addition to 3 little plastic balls. You pull back a lever and insert one pom pom at a time into the launcher. The launcher does an impressive job of shooting the pom poms up to 20 feet. You can make them land much closer than that by aiming the launcher at the ground or at a piece of furniture.I got this specifically for one of my cats who will pester you all day long to throw an elastic hair tie for her to snag out of the air or to chase. She will bring nearly all of them back to within a few feet of me, playing fetch like a dog. After a while though, I get tired of getting up from my chair to retrieve the hair elastic and throw it again. With this toy, I could launch 100 pom poms without getting up from my chair until it was time to collect them. Tortellini watched as I launched the first six pom poms, then finally went over to smell one of them. She watched in a detached manner as I launched ten more, then she left to hunker down in the loaf position in the adjacent room. In other words, she didn’t approve.Next, I tried it with Koko who likes to chase those little plastic cat balls with a bell in them. She romped excitedly after the first two, then quickly grew bored and left the room.I had the best reaction from my third cat. He wasn’t interested in the launching aspect of the toy, but he liked having pom poms all over the floor. He spent ten minutes picking up a few to bat around, lifting them up with his paw, and hiding them.I think the issue is with the sound of the launcher. While the click it makes when you fire the pom pom isn’t that loud, it’s loud enough that my cats don’t like the sound. I think that’s why Tortellini likes the hair ties better. There’s no sound when I throw them.The toy works exactly as it is supposed to. All of our cats are rescues who startle easily. Even when I come home, they all scatter for a while and don’t come greet me for at least ten minutes. If you have a more adventurous, less easily frightened cat, I think this could be a great toy.

Cute, functional, but loud.
This arrived today and while it’s cute and does hold multiple pom poms, it is so loud. My cat who loves to play fetch didn’t seem too phased, but it definitely spooked our other cats and dog. I loved the idea of the toy, but I’m not sure how often we will use the launcher due to the sound.
