Works on thick coats…
A great addition to my grooming bag over the regular scissors I was using. Durable, sharp, and easy to use…they have padded finger holes, a finger rest for easy manipulation, a strong and adjustable hinge that glides smoothly, and a handy carrying case to store the set. It was simple to give my Bernese Mountain Dog a trim on her feet using the curved shears, on her ears using the thinning shears, and a sanitary cut with the straight shears…she doesn’t get more than that unless I’m treating an injury or a hotspot. I like the blunt rounded tips to keep from accidentally poking my dog’s skin if she moves, but she usually just takes a nap until I’m done! Overall, a great value for the money if you’re only trimming parts of the dog, but not the whole dog. I would recommend this set to others as it was a good value for the money.

Basic set for at-home trims
The MEDUWEDU 7 in 1 Dog Grooming Scissors Set is fine for beginners or at-home trims, but it’s not really a professional level set. I’ll end up packing this in our RV for travel and keep my more-expensive regular scissor for a full groom at home on my Springer Spaniel and Golden Retriever. The curved and straight scissors are sharp and work pretty well, but the thinning scissors are marginal compared to the professional ones I bought. I do like the rounded ends on these scissors because my one dog don’t always stand still and I’m worried I’ll accidentally poke him. The two combs are okay, one has slightly wider spaced teeth. They don’t have any handles, however. The black vinyl–not leather–case is an excellent addition for storage, although there’s no elastic holders for the combs, just the scissors.

Amazing grooming set. Works great on my long haired dog. The scissor cut great and rounded ends take out some of the fear. I even tried the scissors on my hair and got great clean cuts.

A Good At-Home Grooming Set
From a groomer’s perspective:This is a good set of grooming scissors for any pet owner to have. It is good quality and comfortable. The scissors are decently sharp, though the thinning shears could be a bit sharper. The combs are standard and work great. The travel case is very nice and handy.While I would not say they are professional grade, this is a great set of grooming tools for any pet owner at a reasonable price.

This set of shears and combs are perfect for helping to groom your long haired pup. There are thinning shears as well as curved ones. The combs are nicely made and have different spacing between the tines for different levels of fur. It all comes in a nice leather carry case.

Thinning Scissors Are Ineffective
I own a German Shepherd dog, so I don’t need tools for precise cuttings, like you would need for a standard poodle or other fancy-hair type dog. I need the scissors to trim the excess fluff from around his neck and hind quarters, and the comb to go through the body overall. The combs were quite good, although I would have preferred to have one shorter. The wide teeth make it easy to get through all of his hair, but a smaller, half sized comb would have been handier for combing around the his ears and legs. The thinning sheers were what drew me to the set, because he has an inordinate amount of hair around his chest and side of his head, and that’s why I was so disappointed with this set – they are just not sharp and didn’t get through his hair. The straight and rounded end scissors worked great, but I really needed the thinning scissors. Definitely not professional grade, and if the thinning scissors weren’t included it would still be a good set at a decent value. I was just very disappointed in how the thinning scissors scissors function.
