Not Bright Enough As The Laser goes farther from Unit.
This is a very interesting toy and got my cat’s attention. The problem is that when the light is near the unit, the pointer is very sharp but is diffused and loses the cat’s attention a little away.For this price, the regular cheap laser pointer can do the trick. Either way, cats do not play for long with any toy, and their attention span is short.

I wish the battery lasted a little longer. My cat loves this toy and wants me to turn it on multiple times a day, so I have to charge it often. The laser is hard to see in bright rooms.If you have a cat that loves laser pointers, buy this!!

Entertaining for the cat and you
There are times when the cat wants to play, but I’m working from home and just can’t. Enter the automatic laser.The good is that the laser doesn’t just go in a completely set pattern. It’s, of course, somewhat set; but enough uniqueness to surprise your cat. It can be operated at a slower speed or a faster rate. The manual mentions a “manual mode” — which means you hold the device and move the laser around yourself.When I ordered it, I wasn’t fully paying attention — another nice item is that it is battery powered (or you can plug it in). But with the battery, you can place it on a mantle or other shelf and not have to deal with cords.My one ding of the product: the laser isn’t that bright. It’s bright enough for the most part, but in a room with a fair amount of light (like mid-day when I’m working), it can wash out when the laser goes to its longer reach. You can mitigate this by bringing the activity closer to the device (you can adjust its aim very easily); but I would have appreciated a slightly brighter light.In the end, it’s a fun little toy that the cats should get a lot of use out of.

Doesn’t hold a charge.
I bought this to keep my cat busy while I was at work and it only lasted 30 minutes after a full day of charging. Wouldn’t recommend

I love this product but the cats seem to like it a couple of times a week but not every day. They do chase the light and it’s fun to watch.

A nice automatic laser, if your cats are into that
In principle, this laser has a lot of great features, but in the end, the success of any pet toy depends on whether your pet is interested or not.Design-wise, this is a well designed laser that addresses a lot of the issues I’ve had with similar automatic laser toys:- It’s rechargeable, so you don’t have to feed it batteries all the time.- It’s compact and easy to position and adjust, so you can stick it where you have very little shelf space which makes it easier to position to get the laser to move in the area you want. I put it about 2 feet off the ground and it runs the laser over an area about 4′ x 4′. If I put it up higher it could cover more area.- It has a somewhat random pattern. It basically travels randomly back and forth around in a circle. It’s no substitute for real prey or a human controlling the point, but it’s more interesting for cats than just a constant circular motion.The feature I haven’t seen before is a self-timer/automatic mode that can turn itself on and run for a little while every few hours. In theory, this could help entertain a cat that’s left alone, or like in our case, might give your nocturnal cats something to focus their energies on in the middle of the night, instead of finding ways to wake people up. (Such was the hope, at least…)Having said all that, while this is a great design, my cats have yet to really get interested in it. They will watch the dot, but I rarely see them chase it. Granted, it has taken them a long time to warm up to some of their favorite things, so they might come around. I’m just saying it’s a good laser, but your pets will be the judge of whether they like it or not.This cat laser isn’t a replacement for interaction between people and their pets, but if your cat tends to get bored and doesn’t have a lot of space to hunt, this could a good way to help them burn off some energy and hold their attention and keep them from taking it out in less constructive ways.
