Sorry I waited so long to get the 3-¾ FC blade
Fear kept me from getting the 3-¾ FC blade. I have an Andis two speed clipper, ProClip Super 2-Speed Detachable Blade Clipper, Professional Animal Grooming, AGC2 (22360) which came with the size 10 blade that I never use. Instead, I purchased a size 40 blade and two sets of snap-on combs, both large and small sizes.I think that I misjudged how close this blade would come to my Bichon Frise’s skin, based upon the angles of the size 10 and the size 40. Since I am an amateur groomer, my first concern has always been not to cause any injury to my dog. I always envied the plush look that some people were able to give a Bichon’s coat and I was never able to achieve that look with the comb attachments or my inept scissoring.I finally decided to purchase this blade and, to my surprise, it is completely different than the ones that I have been using. The angle is very close to the ½” comb attachment, so I felt comfortable using it. Since this is a finishing blade and I did not purchase the skip tooth blade, I first cut the hair with my usual 40 inch blade and ½” comb. I then went over it with this 3-3/4FC blade. Wow, the difference really made me regret that I didn’t purchase this blade years ago.My Bichon’s hair is so even and plush, even along the sides where I usually have trouble blending the lengths. I am so enthusiastic about this particular blade and recommend it to anyone else on the fence about using a blade without comb attachments.

Wish I’d bought it years ago!
I groom my Standard Poodle and I thought I could make do with the plastic snap-on combs instead of buying this blade. Why did I wait? I just used it today for the first time and it’s worth buying!I tend to wait longer than I should between grooming because it’s either an all-day event to bathe and groom my Poodle, or I pay a hundred bucks to have someone else do it. So by the time I get around to grooming, his hair is pretty long. I used to put a snap-on comb onto my clipper and take off as much hair as I could before the bath (why wash and dry all that hair I’m just going to cut off anyway, right?) But the plastic combs get caught up in the curly Poodle hair, or they fall off and I take a bigger chunk of hair than I had intended, or the comb gets all clogged up with hair and I have to take it off and clean it several times.Today I took off a wastebasket full of hair with this blade before the bath , then bathed and blow-dried the dog, then clipped his coat again with this blade to even it up and finish the groom. It worked great!I thought I’d have the problem of the blade not cutting the dog’s hair, as other reviewers have mentioned, but once I made sure the blade was flat against the dogs skin, it cut just fine. It’s also much easier to clip a dog when the coat has been blow-dried – I bought a “blaster” dog dryer (the Double K Challenge Air 2 speed) many years ago and it was definitely a good investment – it gets the curly Poodle hair nice and straight so I can clip and scissor his coat and make him look as nice as a professional groomer!I mentioned that I clip the dog before I bathe him – I have been told this is not good for the blades because the dirt in the coat will dull the blade, but I still do it anyway, first of all because I groom about 6 times a year, so the blades aren’t doing a lot of cutting, and I haven’t noticed they dull any faster than the blades I don’t use on a dirty coat, and also because I don’t mind sending my blades out to be sharpened.

Great Blades
Andis makes blades that last. 3 3/4 works better than the comb attachments on most breeds. Thank you!

It fits my Andis AGC2 perfectly.
Great blade. For those of you who may have a problem attaching this blade to your AGC2 here is how to put the blade on.1. Seat the blade peg into the blade attachment slot.2. Press the blade release button at the back. Hint: keep the button pressed in the whole time.3. Press the blade down – the whole time you are holding the button in, and the blade will seat itself.4. Now stop pressing the button.5. Double check that the blade is seated perfectly. If it is you are ready to start grooming your pet.6. When ready to change out the blade – just press the blade release button again.I have to do the above steps for the following blades: 3 3/4 FC, 3/4 HT, 7FC, 7 FT, 8 1/2, 4 FCHopes this helps anyone who is having difficulty attaching your blades.

THEY DON’T MAKE EM LIKE THEY USED TO!
Andis quality sure isn’t what it used to be!Not as sharpe, not as long lasting, and not a good value however a necessary evil when grooming a giant long haired bouvier des flandres.

These are good blades that can be sharpened which is why I purchased them and not a ceramic blade.
