Claus Pohl, a brilliant chemist, started Bio-Groom in 1971 with the goal of creating mild pet hygiene products that were safe for pets and the environment. At the time these products were extremely harsh, so Claus created the first naturally mild shampoo on the market and named it Bio-Groom. Today, over 50 years later, we are still family owned and operated and proud to continue innovating and manufacturing natural, gentle pet grooming products.

Transparent Labeling

Over-the-counter pet products are not regulated in the US and many of our competitors don’t put the full ingredient list on their products. We label each of our products as if they were human-regulated items: with a complete list of INCI named ingredients.

Gentle Ingredients

All Bio-Groom products are pH-balanced and free of common allergens, parabens, dyes, soap, artificial thickeners, and harsh chemicals. For extra sensitive pets we also offer products with no sulfate, alcohol, or perfumes. Additionally, we have a number of products that are tear-free. We’ve designed our products to clean effortlessly without stripping natural protective oils from the skin and coat.

All Bio-Groom products are proudly made in the USA. We consider it an integral part of our heritage and a privilege to claim that all our products are made in the USA!

Cruelty Free & Kind to Our Planet

Every product is developed and manufactured without any experimentation on animals. The natural cleansers we use in our products are derived from regrowable and 100% green sources of corn, coconut, or palm kernel oils.
