Magic! Boxie Cat Air Saved My Sanity!
If I could marry this litter I would! I have tried EVERYTHING. Name it I’ve done it. Litter box types, litter types, cleaners, etc. I have a male cat with behavioral peeing issues. He won’t use a box even if he finds his own last pee and poop in the box from less than an hour prior, it has to be fresh to his kitty nose or he pees on the floor. Luckily I trained that easily to be on pee pads next to the box not the actual floor.I have a self cleaning box that rotates once every hour. No matter what clumping litter I used if I didn’t take the whole box apart, which isn’t easy, every other day and dump half the litter out and add atleast half new, if not all, then he pees on floor bc he can smell the loose dirty litter pieces that crumble off the clumps or those tiny pieces of feces that never scoop.I switched to this new boxie cat pro Air. I had heard of boxie cat before with their pancaking urine litter and that won’t work in my self cleaning box bc it’s too big when pancaked. I found this new Air version that clumps like normal and was very intrigued to finally get to try it.First 2 weeks: I literally could have cried when I realized it had been 2 weeks and my male cat hadn’t peed once outside the box with me only cleaning the box and swapping the full litter out for new on garbage nights once a week. I empty the compartment that collects the pee and poop clumps every other day but otherwise I stopped having to clean the actual box as well every other day.Seriously I could spend an hour telling anyone why this litter is the greatest creation of all time but I’ll make a pro and con list to simplify.Pro List:-no smell! NOTHING not even that clean litter smell once the initial new dump of litter is settled after about 10min I forget I have a litter box and it’s in the main hallway bathroom I walk by 20+ times a day. My houseguests used to be able to tell me that could smell even just the existence of a litter box even when fresh new litter was in. I switched to boxie cat air and my friends asked if I got rid of my cats. They couldn’t believe the litter was there. They stood in the bathroom next to it asking why they couldn’t smell it.-probiotic/anticbacterial litter. I use to be able to smell urine on my cats feet after they had freshly peed. It’s gone. They have clean litter feet.-tracking is down to the occasional couple pieces once past the rug next to the litter. Even with my female cat who is the queen of tracking litter in her paws. Literally use to have to daily vacuum from guest bath to the kitchen and then wiped down coffee table, couches and kitchen table bc I could see where she’d been by the litter trail. It’s gone! There’s only some litter on the rug from her usual dramatic exits of how hard she can jump from box to floor like a madwoman and by some I mean I use to vacuum the bathroom daily so people weren’t walking on litter. I can wait til my weekly full cleaning and it’s all on the little litter rug.-idk what it is about it but this is the first litter my female cat stopped playing with. She used to dig a until a little Mountain was outside the litter box and it drove me insane. She quit on day 1 of new litter and has never done it again. It’s been about 4 months now I believe.-unlike other litters this 1 tiny 6.5lb bag lasts me a whole month. I use only 1/4 of the bag each time I swap litter once a week. I fill below the recommended inches and still no smell. I definitely thought it wouldn’t be enough and am amazed it is. Old litters I could get a giant 20lb or bigger container and use it in a month trying to stop odors by adding in new.-my biggest personal pro is this stopped by male cats behavioral peeing. He will not use a “dirty box” and I mean he could go pee and come back before the hour is up for the self clean cycle to be done and he won’t pee bc his old pee is still there. Not anymore! He doesn’t care is the other cats poop is still there. He cannot smell it bc the litter is that good!!!Cons:-initially my con was the cost. $20 for 6.5lbs seemed so expensive and to go up a size made it about $40 I was worried I’d like the litter and spend so much a month to use it. Nope! Boxie cat air proved me wrong.-maybe different results if you don’t have self scooping box or scoop daily. My results are skewed by not actually scooping the litter myself.-I can’t marry itI wish I could come up with more cons to seem like I’m not biased but I am. This litter is magic. It saved my sanity. Probably saved my relationship bc he is not a cat lover and the floor peeing was crossing a line of comfort to live with. Also want to note my cats are both out of the norm and I can ignore instructions to transition food and litter. They love new things and literally wait for me to move from cleaning the litter to jump in an fresh box. I did not transition to this litter. I had 1 day results bc neither of them care what I put in the box. So those with pickier cats may have a longer and more drawn out transition then I experienced.

    Great item!!
This cat litter is amazing! There’s absolutely no odor, even after several uses, and it doesn’t create any dust at all. It clumps well, making cleanup super easy. My cat loves it too! I’ve tried many types before, but this one is by far the best. Highly recommended!

    Near perfect kitty litter
Top three requirements for a multi-cat household (mine, at least):1. clumping/absorbency2. litter tracking3. litter lifeWe’ve been using two types: Dr. Elsey’s and Boxie original. Both manage to do a good job at meeting the requirements, but- Boxie and Dr. Elsey’s can get saturated after a few weeks of use, reducing the litter’s ability to dry out completely (damp clumps of litter)- Odor control requires frequent removal of damp clumps otherwise odors quickly overwhelm litter and house- Both products are heavy; routine maintenance and disposal of litter can be over 40+ pounds per litter box cleaning cycleHere is where Boxie Air solves all of those issues.- Fresh scent lasts for quite a while, regardless of frequency of litterbox usage or time since freshly filled- clumping is well-contained, dries out extremely well, and does not require excessive effort to scrape off of litterbox surfaces- extremely lightweight (be careful not to accidentally scoop too hard/fast and throw it all over the place)- Litter tracking outside the box does still occur, but is as effective or more so than the original Boxie or Dr. Elsey’s litter (less scatter found on the floor).

    A multifunctional …snack?
I’m not a big fan of writing reviews, but I hope this may help someone (or make you laugh!). I have pretty bad asthma, so I’ve been trying to find a good clay litter alternative that works for both my cat and myself. I have used the boxicat pro, and I liked it for the most part really, so I had pretty good expectations for this one. As soon as I put the new litter in the box- my cat ran right over to investigate. I was excited that we may have a shot at taking a liking to the new litter, so I eagerly waited to see how she responded. I was a bit shocked when she got into the box of fresh litter, and began EATING IT. I kind of sat there for a second in shock, before separating her and changing the litter back to the little bit I had left. Luckily I was watching her and was able to intervene, but I’m sure she would’ve kept going if I hadn’t. Since I’m not exactly sure what all is in the litter exactly, but regardless cats should not be consuming the litter in the box as it can lead to several problems that could be life threatening. I plan on changing back to the old one so we don’t have to take a fieldtrip to work (emergency vet). I’ve had her for about a year (3yo FS DSH) and never once had an issue with anything in regards to the litter box, so I honestly have no idea why she did that. I have thought maybe it could be her stray tendencies, but either way we sadly will be crossing this one off the list. I have no review in terms of the actual efficacy of the litter since it was in the box for maybe a total of five minutes, so I don’t have any comments about that part. I’m not sure if I’m the only one who has had this happen (hopefully!), but I’d rather have known this risk!

Meilleure litière à vie. Pas de poussière, pas d’odeurs acres, et vraiment agglomérante. Plus chère (un peu trop) mais je n’ai jamais trouvé de litière qui respectait ces critères de base. wow.

  6. Lynda Gazda

The only issue is, it stays on her paws and carries it around the house. Not liking that.

This did not work well at all for us – while it is much lighter, it failed to clump as effectively as the original Boxiecat litter, tracked much further in the house (we found litter bits in our bed, two rooms away from our Litter Robot), and worst of all, it frequently turned into a sticky mush inside the Litter Robot, with way more clumped litter sticking to the drum of the Litter Robot. This made the smell much more apparent as the litter wasn’t ending up in the litter tray below, and just became a very negative user experience in all aspects. We’ve had a very good run with Boxiecat’s original clay litters and have already begun to switch back to the old Boxiecat litter before even one bag of the Air was done. While it may possibly work well in a traditional scooping litter situation, it is completely unusable (IMO) for our Litter Robot.

  8. Boxiecat Fan!!

This is honestly the best cat litter I have yet to use. It definitely lives up to all of its claims. It is almost completely dust free and has a clean, fresh scent (I purchased the gently scented). I have had cats my whole life and was a breeder for some time. This is the first time I have been completely happy with a product. I find most clay based clumping litters have almost a sour undertone/smell to them after the first use. No matter how my cat has “digested” his dinner, and even before cleaning, it just seems to absorb all the odour! In addition, the clumps are hard and don’t break up on you when you scoop them, leaving those tiny, smelly little chunks that always seem to sift through your scooper. It is just an added bonus that my boy no longer gets what we affectionately call stinky “litter paws”. While it does cost a little more, it is well worth it considering I can go twice as long without changing my litter totally. I also find it doesn’t seem to stick to the bottom of the pan and therefore I don’t have to wash and sanitize his box every full change either. While I don’t use one now, I have had the automated litter boxes in past, as well as the “roll and sift” boxes and this would be the perfect product to use with them. The bottom line is it is a fantastic product that is well worth the money. I will NEVER go back to the other brands.

I’ve used Boxiecat’s regular clay litter for years and thought I’d try this “lightweight” version in my Litter Robot. I have never been so wrong. My robot normally keeps my house smelling clean, but with Boxiecat Air, my entire home reeked of cat pee within days. It makes cement. I spent way too much time each day scraping the litter liner, fighting what looked like a sandbox horror movie. It also sticks to my cats’ paws and gets tracked everywhere—so now it’s a pee-smelling, sticky mess. If you like scraping, scrubbing, and living in Eau de Feline Urine, be my guest. Otherwise, run far, far away from this disaster. Boxiecat, you owe me new nostrils.
