Big, thin, and cooling
I have a Malamute; he’s a BIG boy. I was concerned that this shirt wouldn’t fit him. I was so glad that it does! It’s stretch enough that it isn’t a pain to put on him, it’s thin and mesh, so I don’t worry about it trapping in heat, and when I get it wet, it doesn’t stay soaked for long, but it does make the material quite cool. Living in a warm climate, this is the perfect outdoors accessory for Mister Charlie.He wasn’t a fan of wearing it at first, but after our first outdoor adventure with it, he seemed to absolutely love it!I added a picture of the shirt not on him, to show just how thin the material is. I was so happy with this!

True to size
This jacket fits very true to size, and the one I ordered for perfectly on my 11lb mini dachshund. The material is lightweight and feels cool to the touch. The colors are vibrant, the material is stretchy with good recovery, and feels like it will hold up well.

Sizing Very Small and Length Very Short
This is the smallest XXL dog shirt I’ve ever seen. I have a Standard Poodle and he’s always an XXL in dog clothes, so that’s what I ordered. I didn’t see the size chart all the way at the bottom of the page and wish I had because I wouldn’t have ordered this shirt. Clearly, this manufacturer’s sizing is very small. The labrador and other large dogs featured wearing the shirt in the pics would not actually fit any of the sizes in real life. The length is also very short. For it being a sun protection shirt, the back length being so short is odd. So, if you actually have a larger sized dog, this shirt is not going to fit. I tried it on my sister’s mini English bulldog and it wouldn’t go over her head and neck.Other than the odd sizing, the shirt is nice and lightweight. The fabric is soft and has a nice stretch to it. The banding used to finish the neck and leg holes doesn’t have much stretch and isn’t the best material for these points that must stretch over legs and heads. I do wish the shirt had fit as it would be a great wat to give my dog protection from the sun, but not add heat while he’s on his walks.

This item is very thin, so it really won’t stay wet for very long and it won’t keep your pooch cool unless it’s wet. I’ll be returning these as I found a much better, thicker jacket by 3M that stays cool for a while.

I like this shirt, though I would have gotten it a bit smaller. But it was stitched with nice, strong, even stitches. It is the perfect shirt to keep on my dog while his fur is growing back in.

Might Work
If you’re wondering how a passive garment can be cooling, there are two mechanisms leveraged here to create this effect. The obvious one is simply uv protection/light blocking – the fabric helps reflect sunlight away from the dog, minimizing the heat absorbed from light energy.The other cooling mechanism employed simulates something dogs can’t do: evaporative cooling. The fabric is moisture-wicking, so when it’s wet, water is drawn through the fabric and lost (along with heat energy) to the surrounding atmosphere as it evaporates away. Importantly, this only works when the garment is wet, so be sure to moisten it for use on a hot day.Whether these two mechanisms provide any actual relief, I cannot scientifically state. Lacking the equipment and resources to evaluate the claim, I’m left to speculate based on observations of my dog’s behavior and assessing the mode of operation. For the latter, I suspect any cooling effects will be minimal, since a fur coat covers or mitigates some of the effects. UV protection is great, but unless your dog has a thin, light-colored coat, fur is probably already doing that job. And while evaporative cooling is basically like artificially sweating for your dog, I think fur mitigates this effect as well. Without direct skin contact, evaporation cannot transfer body heat to the atmosphere, since the water won’t be able to absorb any energy from the dog. With fur creating an insulative air gap between garment and skin, I don’t see how this could provide any relief. Perhaps if the dog is wet too, or hairless, this could have an impact.Theories aside, I haven’t noticed any changes in behavior to indicate a cooling effect. That said, my dog seems to find it tolerable at least, or perhaps even comfortable – he doesn’t complain, at least. It seems to be made well, soft and lightweight, and neatly stitched. Small perforations allow airflow, and the material is strong and slightly stretchy. Consult the size chart before buying and you’ll have no issues with fit.All in all, it’s a well-made piece with a possible (if unlikely) cooling effect. It’s inexpensive, too, so it’s a great test piece if you think it may help. I’m sure short-haired breeds will benefit the most. If you have a dog that doesn’t hate clothes, it’s worth a shot.

Perfect fit for a small chihuahua. The material is nice and lightweight, perfect for spring and summer. It’s very soft against the dog’s skin and doesn’t cause any rubbing.

I got this for my dog and it fits good. I will run it under the water and wring access off and put it on him and he stays cool for a long time. The fabric is stretchy and high quality. The colors are cute too. Highly recommend
