I want to love this
My cat loves being close and having a bed to lay one but no matter how tight I get the bolts it keeps slipping and I worry it’s going to dump my cat onto the floor. The feature that lets you lay it down out of the way is great. My cat is 15 lbs (Maine Coon) so perhaps for a lighter cat it would be great. I just feel like it needs some additional support under it.

Fell apart
I like the look of this and the functionality, but the screws that attached the white particle board to the metal part all ripped out within the first day that I got it. I’m not sure if it was just a one off error, because the rest seems like quality, but beware if you aren’t handy and can’t fix something like that yourself it may become a problem for you.

Sturdy, well made, just too small for my large fat boy.
I was wondering if the cat bed was removable, and it is! The cat bed has elastic bands sewn on that you wrap around the shelf and secure with Velcro. The shelf itself clamps on no problem, and the mechanism to drop and raise the platform works flawlessly. My only complaint is the size. My cat is 20lbs, so when I saw this supports 40lbs I was hopeful that the bed would be large enough for him, but alas it is not. The bed is too small for him, but it would be great for smaller cats. I considered sending the item back for a refund, but I really like the shelf by itself, it gives me more room to spread out my stuff, and my cat can still sit on it if he wants (although it seems his preferred spot is right on top of my keyboard.”)
