Absolutely not – safety hazard
After assembling this cat perch and trying multiple ways to clamp it in differnet areas of my home, I gave up and decided to donate it. My husband, who had watched me assemble it and saw all the work I was doing to utilize it, told me in no uncertain terms to not donate it, as it was too much of a safety hazard. And yes, he is 100% correct. The parts to this perch seem rugged and durable. However, as I assembled it I realized there were so many flaws with the design that there was no amount of fiddling around or adjusting I could do to make it safer.1) The clamp on the base doesn’t extend far enough under the table (or other horizontal surface) to counterbalance the weight of the cat and the wood perch on top.2) The top of the perch, where the wood is (and covered by a velcro-ed on fuzzy “bed”) swivels. Seems great until a cat decides to take a leap off. 15 pounds of big cat leaping off a swivel perch means the round perch will swivel, potentially hitting someone sitting nearby in the head, or knocking something off the table or damaging a computer screen. Or, the perch can become unstable and cause the structure it is clamped on to sway and possibly fall. If the swiveling perch (the circle part) is anywhere close to a window, and the cat leaps on or off and the perch swivels, it can hit the window and smash the glass.3) The bolts holding the wood perch to the metal bracket are absolutely tiny, as are the nuts. There isn’t enough clearance on the bolt to get a good solid grip, so if a nut loosens – which it will as the cat climbs on and off – the wooden perch will come off and become a flying object.4) MInor, but important: the fluffy circular bed is held on to the wood perch with velcro. There are 2 big circles of velcro the size of dinner plates. One piece of velcro is peeled away from its backing and goes on the wood perch. The other piece of velcro is peeled away from its backing and attaches to the fluffy fabric bed. This is so the bed stays on the wood, securely. All well and good until it’s time to wash the bed. If the bed is pulled off and washed, what about the velcro that is stuck to its underside? Will that peel away, when wet? This is one of the most poorly designed products I have come across for household and pet items. Do yourself a favor and spend the money on a regular cat tree, the kind with a stable base and secure fastenings.

Makes me happy!
I work from home and have a large cat tree near my desk that looks out over a large window. You’d think that would be enough for my two cats, but nope — they still want me to hold them while I’m trying to work. Mind you, I’m not complaining … I love how snuggly they are, but I DO need to work. This little seat has helped solve the problem. They are still getting used to it, BUT I have the seat close to me and can literally hand them over onto the seat so I can work. I plan to get a second one so that I’ll have one on either side of me. Yes, my cats are spoiled! : )

Horrible – Do NOT Buy!
Horribly designed bed. I was so thrilled to find a cat bed that wasn’t a window perch… I’m so sick of my window perches falling down. I thought for sure a desk perch would provide the stability that my cats need – and would give them a permanent spot they could sit! WRONG!This thing is horrible. It took me almost 45 minutes of attempting to assemble it to realize it’s useless. I’m so disappointed. I don’t know why they made it jointed in so many locations… it just means that every time my cats get on and off of it… it shifts and becomes unusable. I attempted to tighten the TINY hardware included and those screws and nuts are useless. The fact that the bed is attached to the cheap wooden base with a small Velcro pad that you attach to the wood AND to the bed… are you joking? I can’t believe how poorly conceived this design is. I’m going to attempt to use the arm to build something myself… but I don’t even know if that’s salvageable. Do not waste your money!
