    My cats love it!!!
If I could give it more than a five-star review I absolutely would. My cats immediately started playing with it after I put it together even Smokey who is a little less inclined to use scratching posts which is why I have to clip his nails myself. This was easy to put together and it’s sturdy and it has a strong base. The other one didn’t and I had to prop it so that it wouldn’t fall over when my cats attacked it. It’s a great value for your money! The size is perfect! Finally it is safe because it doesn’t tip over like this other one that I had did. Definitely consider the scratching post because it’s perfect at least for my cats!

My Cat’s Favorite Thing in the World
Great price, easy for me to assemble, tough and durable for cat use. I also like that the pole is split into two separate parts for easy storage. I’ve actually bought two of these because the first one was so great and my cat loved it so much, now I keep one upstairs and one downstairs. The rope is nice and thick and wound around plenty of times, so the cats can get lots and lots of use out of one of these. The cats love climbing it as if it were a tree, and the extra wide base is very supportive of their weight. They love being able to stretch out all the way to get some extra heavy scratches in when they’re feeling energetic. The top of the post is perfect for just one cat to comfortably sit on, and the post is tall enough for the cats to be closer to human chest height.Would definitely recommend this to every cat owner.

Great scratching post that has held up!
I have one of these for my cats and those I foster. They all love it. It took about a year before my orange cat pull one of the toys off which is a record for anything with hanging toys in my house. This is built really well and has not frayed at all. The size is perfect for kittens as it helps them get stronger by climbing to the top. The base is large and heavy enough for stability which is a big plus compared to many others out there.

    Cat-approved
We got this because we may need to travel with our cats soon, and needed a compact, simple scratching post that was still tall enough to be useable in a hotel room, and could be easily broken down and reassembled for travel.  This one was a good price for a scratching post that is tall enough to allow for a full stretch scratch for our cats.  The colors also work with our decor, so we can use it at home, also.  We went ahead and set it up at home, so we could make sure it wasn’t defective or missing parts, and so that our cats could get used to it.  It was easy to assemble, even though the paper that came it that had the instructions was kind of damaged.  (See photos below.)  I was surprised to find that the base was folded in half, instead of being one solid piece, but I guess that will make it more compact when disassembling it to pack up and load into the car.One of our cats already got interested in it as soon as I started unloading it from the box.  (They always seem to know when something is for them.)  No sooner did we get it set up then one of cats was already playing wildly with the mouse toy, then started clawing it vigorously, and then started climbing it.  Pretty soon our other two cats came along to join the fun.  (I tried to post a hilarious video of the three of them all getting wild with it at once, but I couldn’t get my video to upload.)  I was going to move it to the living room, but they wouldn’t stay off of it long enough for me to have a chance to move it.  I believe we can call this a win.A couple of minor criticisms:  the post isn’t actually all that stable if your cat(s) get wild with it, as ours did.  I went into the bedroom and found it knocked over twice the evening we set it up.  The first time, I just set it back upright, then found it knocked over again later, which suggests they were not deterred at all from using it, even though they had knocked it over.  I thought the wide base would make it more stable, but I guess that’s just a problem you would have with any freestanding single scratching post, especially a taller one, as opposed to a wider tree, that would have more structure, and an even wider base.  (We have a couple of those, but they’re not really suitable for taking for travel.)The other, more minor criticism is that the rope on it appears to be just that – rope.  It does not appear to be sisal.  However, it looks like it’s probably just cotton rope, which should be fine for what we intend to be a temporary scratching post we use for travel, to keep the cats from destroying stuff in hotel rooms.  I guess if they shred the rope before we need this, we can just buy some sisal to wrap around it.These are the only two reasons I didn’t give this five stars.  Other than that, it looks good, the cats like it, and I expect it will serve its intended purpose.

    She loves it
My cat loves it, I still don’t understand her preference but she’s picky with scratching posts, we recently got a new cat tree and she decided while she likes to climb it, she doesn’t like the scratching posts on it unlike her old oneSo we got this standalone post and she took to it instantly, she was trying to give it a go while I was putting it together (which was quick and easy)Of course will have to replace the scratch twine eventually but I personally love the one it comes with as well, I’ve handled a lot of this stuff and it tends to be stabby and sheddy like it’s messy and it’ll give you a stab if you grab by the wrapped pole; not this one which makes it easy to move aroundIt comes with stick on anti slip pads which for us has been enough, my cat puts her whole weight (15lbs) into it when she scratches and it hasn’t budged

  6. AZ Mom

The cats LOVE this scratching post!
This scratching post is both the cats and our favorite. Other brands sold have ropes with sharp strands that get into the cats paws and fall off on the floor getting into our feet as well which has caused bleeding. This scratching post has a softer rope eliminating this issue. It is taller than normal which helps as one of our cats likes to stretch straight up as she claws the post. The post diameter is also thicker than the others which the cats like as they climb up it. This is our go to scratching post!

    Highly recommend
I have had this cat scratcher for one year now. It has held up beautifully and both of my cats still love it. They use it every day to stretch and scratch and also play with the dangling mouse toy. They pulled the other toy off. The carpet on the base has a tear after one year of heavy use.

  8. Stephanie

    Great for big cats
Great scratcher. I have a 16 pound, very tall tomcat and this is sturdy enough that he can’t knock it over and tall enough for him to get a good stretch + scratch.

  9. RD

Pure garbage. The top is good, but the base is cheap and flimsy. It collapsed after only a month of use. I’ve having to go buy some decent wood to replace it.If you do purchase for the height, make sure you buy yourself a better base to go with it or just shell out for a more expensive one with a better base.

  10. Josie Fakira

Very cheap base and lasted about 4 days before my two Burmese broke it. Cheap chipboard given it’s a heavy duty scratcher. Very disappointing
