Tightly woven
These are sturdier than they look. They are woven tightly so I expect not as much mess as I’ve had with others. Little higher than I’ve used, but my cats like it and that’s what matters.

As soon as I unpacked it she was in it. And she hangs out in the box (there are 2 scratchers still in it), grabbing a toy to play with every so often. Beyond that, the scratchers seem to be well made, with a more compact construction, so they don’t tear up as quickly. That should make them last longer than the grocery store scratchers. Not to mention you get more scratchers for your money compared to those!

My cat likes this product, but cats tend to like boxes and scratchers. My cat is previously feral and has never just sat in a cardboard box like a normal cat, but loves to sit on scratchers. The little cutout for the ball is pointless. Neither cat has ever played with it. Having multiple inserts is useful because the product lasts longer than single use scratchers. That’s the best feature, not the ball.
