A well loved toy
This is not exactly top of the line anything. However, it’s a favorite. You need a doorway with molding. There has to be something for it to hold onto. The stretchy line needs to be tied at an appropriate height. You don’t want to choke kitty. My youngest (now almost eight) had something similar as a kitten and he would play for hours (with small pass-out naps in the middle). I found this and the reasonable price sold me.It’s simple, which can be one of the best things about it. I don’t keep it up unsupervised. When I am done listening or watching, I put it away. Then, the younger comes to me and escorts me to the very closet in which it’s kept to have me put it up. I guess you can say he likes it.There are many other choices for similar items, and the prices are all over the place. This works just fine. Kitties are happy. I’m happy. Win-win.

My three month old kitten loves this toy
This toy has helped tire my kitten out more than any other toy i have tried. She will play with this until she is panting and then she is right back at it as soon as she catches her breath. It helps distract the kitten from constantly trying to play with my older cat and keeps her busy while Im working from home.I assume it will wear out with time but, the simplicity of this toy means i can replace the string or toy as needed. Its easy to move from one doorway to another and the metal grip hold tight agains my kitten playing with it.

Better than others I’ve tried. Cats love it.
The main issue with all of these I’ve found is that my cats often tear off the mouse/bird/whatever is hanging at the end quite quickly. This one lasted 2 days. Then I’ll tie the critter back on a few more times (usually around its middle) until they’ve officially destroyed it. Now I’ve tied a tiny loop at the end to which I can clip on feathers which are normally attached to one of the fishing rod type cat toys. This is working quite well so far! The clamp at the top is the strongest I’ve purchased, and does manage to fit over my door frames, so once attached they have not been able to pull it down. I like the adjustable feature of the little felt cat face, but wish there was a way to permanently lock it at the preferred height once reached. Might try to rig something myself.

My cats are OBSESSED
I love this little mouse. Such a simple toy but so effective! I will add that it’s not the most durable. 1 lasts us about a month but we have multiple cats that use it and it’s cheap so not a budget breaker! Will be buying over and over again for the foreseeable future

Cat loves it
My cats loves this but it’s not made well to stay on a door frame as shown. I couldn’t even open it wide enough for the width of the frame and not even close to making it to the top of the molding.I braces it on something completely different so he can still use it but not good for a door frame.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
Cheap and horribly made. The hanger isn’t wide enough for a standard depth door frame. The plastic ends of the hanger don’t fit the wire and come right off (scratching the doorway trim). The string adjuster is just felt – IOW it’s not designed to hold any adjustments to the string. This is clearly a product of mass Chinese manufacture. My kitten is 4 months old and this is the second doorway toy – the first one was a lot better made but I’ll be shopping USA made (as I usually do).I have to throw this one away as I value my trim paint. Poor Cowboy kitty.

This toy saved my sanity
My house is strewn with cat toys. All types of toys. Tunnels, scratching posts, balls, toy mice, kicker toys, springs, chew toys. I even have small dog toys so that they would hold up better to my hyperactive, either on the move or dead asleep kitten. Blaze, named for the fact he blazes a trail of mischief (sometimes destruction) wherever he goes, was found in a tall bucket in the garage at about 4-5 weeks old. He had gotten trapped in it and couldn’t crawl back out for at least two days. He had two siblings and I’m fairly certain his momma had given up on him and his rambunctious ways. Kittens are supposed to sleep what? Like 16-18 hours a day at that age? Not my little guy. Nope. He averaged about 8 at the most and the more tired he was the more like a crazed, fit throwing toddler he became. He has true symptoms of ADHD. My legs look like I walked through a thicket field with shorts and no socks because he was constantly attacking me as his play toy. Then I found this door hanging bungee mouse and I was like there’s no way this will hold up but I’m gonna try it (mostly because I try EVERY toy I see for active kitties) because his favorite toy at the time was a mouse on a short bungee that I had to hold, but then I would become the toy rather than the mouse. 🙄 Well. It did hold up, so far anyway. And it doesn’t matter because it is such a miracle I bought two more “just in case”. Blaze will play with this for a solid 10-15 minutes and then pass out tired. Sweet relief!! Thank you thank you thank you little string mouse!!!! As he’s grown he’s learned to get on the counters, open cabinets and climb the door jams. Yes. Climb up door jams. But if I get lucky he sees his bungee mouse hanging in the door and focuses on it enough to wear himself out. Sometimes I even trick him into playing with it if he’s super tired and not fully on his game of disobeying. Anyway. If you’ve made it this far and you have a, not only active but HYPERactive kitty, try this toy. I think you’ll be praising the toy gods, just like I do, every time your kitten starts playing with it.

Our cats favorite toy
This may be the best toy we’ve ever purchased for two of our cats. They sit and play with it all day long. Feel bad at it and play with it and then take a break and just sit and watch it and then come back and play some more. just a fantastic concept. If your cat loves to play with the type of toys that are like a stick with a string or a fishing pole type toy, then this is definitely a toy they will love!
