My cats love these fish, though I will say they weren’t thrilled with the other fluffy thing. But that’s okay, because I bought it for the fish, and they are great. There is something about the fish shape that they really like, and oddly, they seem to recognize them as fish, even though none of my cats has ever seen a real fish. They always grab their fish at the head and then proceed to murder them with kicks to the guts. I gave one to some feral kittens in the back yard and it’s the same story – instant joy. Their fish has held up to much abuse, rain, and even snow, and I find it all over the yard and in the garage where the ferals live. I have purchased several packages of these fish over the last couple of years, and I keep them standing on their tails in a decorative pot in the living room, and actually, the fish’s bright colors and expressions looks quite fun. When one of the cats wants one, they pull it out, and there are always fish scattered through my house. Only once have I had to find a needle and thread to repair one when someone’s teeth or claws got a little over-aggressive, and even with some emergency surgery, the fish is still in action months later. I like the way the fish look and hold up to abuse, and look in their pit, and the cats just like them, so it is a win-win.

No discernable catnip in these.
Our 3 cats are catnip fiends and they’ve let us know that these do not contain anything that they can discern as being catnip. The toys are being used but because we are making them play with them and as soon as we turn or walk away from the action, so do they. Bummer.

I have bought a similar item before with only 3 fish but at a higher price. This comes with 3 fish and 1 long fuzzy cylinder. Although I like the little bell inside, the quality of the material is thin and stitches are loose. The quality and quantity of catnip are probably not as good either, as my cat gives it a quick sniff before walking away.
