They like it! They really like it!
Must start out with a caveat. We’re talking about a cat toy. It’s hard to get a good feeling about a cat toy from customer reviews, because cats insist on having their own minds about things! So I think this is one of those cases where it’s not really possible to look at how many 5 stars there are and how many 1 stars there are and make a good judgement on how your individual cat is going to respond. I usually look at other reviews to decide whether to buy a product – that’s not as possible with a cat toy! That said, my 2 girls actually like this toy. I put ours together in a loop. The thing that makes this toy different from other, similar “ball in a loop track” toys that I’ve bought is that this one has elevated portions. I think the fact that the ball does have more movement when they play with it makes a difference.I heard them both playing with it when I went to bed last night. And they were playing with it again this morning. I was pleasantly surprised that this one was a hit.I also like the construction of this product. I bought another “track” type toy a while back and the pieces didn’t fit together snugly enough; the ball would catch on the connection between the pieces and not move easily. This toy snaps together better and seems to be a better quality item than the other one I got.For the cost that this item is here, I would recommend trying it. It’s worth a shot to see if your cat likes to play with it. You might be surprised.(Wanted to also reiterate a fact that others have asked about above – this toy is completely “paw-powered” – there isn’t anything moving the ball except the paw (and sometimes the owner’s hand! It’s kinda fun to play with myself!) Others have questioned the size of the openings. I was concerned about that when I looked at it as well. However, my cats don’t have a problem getting in it and pushing the ball around.)

OUR ENTIRE KITTY CARTEL LOVES THIS TOY!
Catit makes several of these circuit toys; this version comes with elevated tracks and a flashing ball. I also purchased Catit’s Fireball, which is a RED motion-activated flashing ball, and I highly recommend it as an add-on purchase for $3.49. I consider it a bargain, since it’s so much brighter and adds to the experience (batteries are included). There was interest at initial set-up; however, when we added the Fireball, fur was flying as cats & kittens elbowed each other to get their paws on that red flashing ball! (Yes, I know cats aren’t supposed to see colors the way we do, so maybe it was the difference in flash intensity?)Since the competition level is high for this toy, we’ll be purchasing more Catit circuit toys to add to this one. All the circuit toys interconnect, so you don’t need to buy the priciest one. I also bought a slightly different Catit circuit as a holiday gift for my brother’s three kittens. He reports that they enjoy it, too.I also purchased an unrelated toy, a three-tiered “chase-the-ball” toy that was very simple. I honestly didn’t expect much. But the combination of the Speed Circuit and the simple toy has been a fantastic hit at our house.I’ve read the other reviews in which people said their cats didn’t care for the toy, and we all know that cats are different. If you purchase this, I suggest you get the Fireball as an add-on, because it has made a huge (and hugely funny) difference at our house.Again, I give this toy a solid 5 stars for entertaining our LARGE kitty cartel throughout the day. Plus, we can leave it out and our Rottweiler won’t carry off the little balls, because they are completely encased in the track. It’s a win-win for us. I hope you have as much success as we have.

Too bad, I wanted to like it…
My cat LOVED this toy once I removed the covers. Getting to the ball –while the covers were still on– was clearly awkward for her. The holes were too small and spaced too far apart for the length of her arms, the ball got stuck in the valleys or where the track pieces didn’t fit evenly, etc. Without the covers she flopped affectionately all over it! Terrific! I love to see her happy. Too bad that only lasted ’til one good swat flung the fall off track –which was every few minutes. Not a workable option when she’s home alone. Before we ever got to covers-off-kitty-happy, there was a whole other thing I encountered. Snapping the pieces together and apart was unbelievably frustrating. And I am normally super handy. First off, disconnecting the rails once attached –or removing the covers from the rail sections– required a very thin screwdriver to pry the pieces apart. Big mistake to snap the covers on first and then attach the rails!!! The sturdy grip needed while attempting to screw-drive apart the tiny pieces that snap the covers into place kept unhingeing the already-attached rails. …At the end, I was never so glad to get a product back in the box and back to Amazon. Fortunately my cat adores her Bergan StarChaser. Still, I’m looking for another toy she likes as much to occasionally trade off –and insure she stays engaged.

This is the second speed track I have bought for the spoilt little “kids” that own me, and its being well used as I type – I have a feeling it might continue whilst I try to sleep as well! The track came in 4 parts with the two ‘ends’ separate. I didnt need those, but have popped them away incase I do in the future. Really easy to put together, the blue lids clip in place, and the tracks click together and poull apart (if needed) easily. This new one fitted to my older one just fine, and now I have an extended race track in the living, that my 7 month old kitten Jinx is going nutso with. Good quality product, my older pieces are still fine even after two years of play from my other kitty Roo, and the flashing ball is a welcomed addition by them it seems! Great value kitty toy, that they never seem to get bored of. I tend to take mine apart and change the track into a new shape every so often, and this perks them back up if they havent touched it for a while “new toy!!!”
