Sturdy, extra design features – great at both transition to pellets and use after transition
When I switched from clay litter to pine pellets, I needed a new scoop, so I bought three, and this is one of them.Here is the comprehensive review of all three:Purple (Litter LIfter): Pros: very sturdy plastic, slim size is easily stored anywhere, slats are wide enough with a little shaking the pine pellets fall right through, excellent for after I fully switched from clay to pine. Even though I mostly use the white one (below) now, I also really like to use this Purple one to ‘stir’ the litter in the sifting pan to get the pellet breakdown (from urine) to go through the sifter without having to shake the whole pan. Cons: not as handy during the transition as it was a bit harder to pick up the clay clumps.White (Depets scoop – this one): Pros: also sturdy plastic, has a built-in ‘hook’ so is stored easily on the litter box side, has a bit of a curve to the scoop sides which allowed ease of picking out clumps during the clay to pine transition, slats are wide enough with a little shaking the pellets fall through. Cons: not really any.Black: (Catit): Pros: does allow pellets to fall through when shaken, but because they are round, it’s not as effective as the other two scoops. Cons: big rounded design makes it bulky for storage, plastic feels fragile and I’m afraid it will break if bumped much (I ended up donating this one to a thrift shop).So that’s it: White 5/5, Purple 4/5, and Black 2/5.

Perfect size slots
This works perfectly. My old one slots were too tight for pellets to fall thru. This holds the poop while almost every pellet can fall thru.

Good scoop for World’s Best Cat Litter brand
Works well for scooping World’s Best Cat Litter brand litter. Is very small though. Would like a bigger version of this scoop. Also the hook gets in way, so a version without the hook would be nice.

Works Great for pine!
This scoop is small but works well to sift out the solids from my pine litter box. The hook on the handle is too small the rest on the side of my Arm and Hammer sifting box, but thats no biggie. I will use this till I can find a suitable stainless steel version.

Works Great with Tractor Supply Pine Pellets
I buy the 40lb bags of Tractor Supply Pelletized Bedding for Horses and Small Animals to use as cat litter, which works great. At $7.50 a bag, it’s the cheapest solution for litter boxes, plus it neutralizes orders and minimizes dust and tracking.The ONLY scoop I’ve found that works with these pellets is this Depets Cat Litter Scoop. I’ve tried many. None others will alow the whole pellets to fall through. They also hold up superbly well. I’ve had mine for years and they’re as good as they day I got them.If you also use the Tractor Supply pellets (I can’t speak for other brands of pellets), save yourself the time and money of trying other scoops and just buy this one!

Almost perfect for pellet litter
Bought it because it said it would work with pellet litter. It some what works? Better than a regular scoop but im still not sifting out all the pellets which was the point.

I recently adopted a polydactyl cat who made a huge mess with regular litter. I switch to Oko pellet litter and it was taking forever to scoop with my old scoop and I was wasting a lot of the pellets. This one had good reviews for how it was with the pine litter so I gave it a try. It scoops Oko litter super fast with minimal waste.

I switched to pallet litter just to keep my house a little cleaner and it works great but my regular scoop wasn’t able to sift the pellets. This scoop works great it’s quite durable and I have no complaints other than it is kind of small. I haven’t found anything else that works so I highly recommend it if you have bigger or pellet litter.

Trying to sift the sawdust waste through the scoop unfortunately still removes a LOT of pine pellets – the slots are too wide. Still, rly cute and sturdy.
