My cats and I love it! Easy to put together, my cats did not like the mesh/tried to rip it up but they thought the fur cover was comfortable. Nice quality and cute appearance. My white cat is about 13 lbs and my orange cat around 9-10. My 20lbs cat did not feel comfy getting on.

I received and set up the “deskside dreamer” cat hammock and waited for my cat to plop in. She came over, looked at it, and walked away. Later, my kid put her in there, and after some skeptical walking in a circle, she settled down in what seemed to be a comfortable ball. That’s been her last visit to the cat hammock. So much for her spending her days curled up next to me while I type.I don’t hold that against the cat hammock. My cat is fickle. The quality of the cat hammock is generally quite good. The metal feels sturdy and strong, and the assembly, by and large, was pretty simple. My only complaint on that score is that the instructions (which were clearly written by someone not fluent in English), were rather unclear when it came to attaching the mesh/“fur” part of the hammock. For some time, I thought that the directions were instructing me to use both the mesh and fur covers together. That’s not correct – it’s one or the other. Once I figured that out, it was smooth sailing.For as much as I thought the quality of the metal stand was high, the quality of the fur cover is not. Imagine if you went to Joann’s and found the cheapest faux fur fabric that they had on the shelf. And then imagine it thinner. Then imagine it shedding all over the place. That’s the fabric that they use for the fur cat hammock. It was a mess putting it on. Fake fur was all over the place: on our clothes, on the cat, on the floor. And it’s thin. It’s so thin, I’m concerned that my cat, who scratches pretty much everything that even remote looks like fabric, is going to scratch a hole in the cat hammock and fall through. She hasn’t done it yet, but if she ever gets back in there, I can see it coming. Mesh cover seems pretty decent.All in all, not bad. Four stars.

They enjoy lounging, watching everything around them, and taking naps. The hammock is sturdy, comfortable, and holds up well. A great purchase that brought so much joy to our furry friends!

Good product, very sturdy. A few potential improvements.
I had the opportunity to try out the “Deskside Dreamer” and overall it’s a good product. My primary concern was that one of my cats is rather large, at least twice to three times larger than my other two, and that this would not be strong enough to hold him or that he would bend/break it over time. Fortunately, that is not the case. The meat frame and hoop are pretty robust. Feels like thick anodized metal. The clamps are ring clamps opposed to just a set screw which wouldn’t work long term at all.Everything fits snugly and took only a few minutes to assemble, thought here is where one of the only two issues I encountered presented. The instructions are good but not fully clear. First I wasted a little time threading the loop through the fabric the wrong way because it wasn’t called out in the directions. Then it “implied” that you have to put the mesh covering on first and that the fluffier one goes on over it. This is not the case. You can only have one or the other on as both need the hoop to go through the slots in them and the fluffy one does not fit over the mesh. Not a big problem, but would have been nice to not waste my time trying to get it to work.The only other negative is the clamp on the bed side of the arm. Once you place the bed into the arm assembly, it was very hard to adjust because the bed is in the way of the clamp mechanism. I kind of got it to work by undoing the velcro for the mesh bed, giving myself a little extra room to rotate the clamp but it was cumbersome and could’ve been solved with a different mechanism.That was a little frustrating and would be an easy improvement for the product. Otherwise, I am impressed with how sturdy it is and the base clamp makes it pretty versatile. You can clamp it to almost anything with a top; a dinning table, mantle, windowsill, etc. so that’s cool.I’m not sure if it will actually help keep the cats from sleeping on my keyboard when I’m trying to work, but it’s worth a shot and if it doesn’t work, I can move it somewhere else.

Fits larger size cats within the weight limit easily
A great product, my cats are larger in size but weigh within the weight limit and they enjoy this. It allows them to sit on my desk and look out the window without bothering me.

Your cat will never leave
My husband and I both have large desks that attract our cats like catnip! They love to roll around and knock things over when they stretch out, plus, their hair gets everywhere if they get too frisky. When I saw this, I wasn’t too sure if it would work for us, mostly because our cats are a bit heftier. My biggest is 16lbs and the other is 12lbs; not only are they big weight wise, they are also quite long.This was easy to assemble and was up in no time on my husband’s desk. Our 12lb boy has taken a STRONG liking to it; he is constantly curled up in it most of the day without sacrificing any distance from his beloved dad. Our 16lb boy has not even attempted it and frankly is just too big to fit. Our only complaint is that the fabric material is THIN…like, so thin. I am not sure if it will hold up for more than a year at this rate. Also, since it is thin, it seems quite uncomfortable near the edges as the metal framing is prominent. No complaints from my cat but thats just what I can tell. If you are sew savvy, I am sure you could easily replace the fabric with something thicker/higher quality.
