5 stars… But not perfect for lefties
We have a 4 month old corgi that has endless amounts of energy, as corgi puppies do. He doesn’t like rubber toys or kongs or anything like that, but he LOVES rope toys. Suffice to say, this was immediately his favorite toy in the arsenal. Flirt poles are great for dogs with high prey drive, love tug of war, chasing, and will wear them down pretty quick.Build quality is great, definitely heavy duty. Our corg is only 8 pounds, but I’d assume it’d hold up with much heavier pups. The rope/toy is primarily blue and yellow, which might seem like a moot point, but dogs can only see those two colors which means this one has great visibility for them!Best use is for sure in a larger space outdoors, but if you can swing it (no pun intended) you might find a spot inside that’s not too destructive.Anyways, the knock I have is a relatively minor thing but should be mentioned- the grip is fitted for your right hand, so if you’re a southpaw like me you’ll have to grip it lower down or else it’s just super uncomfortable. Otherwise, well worth the money.

Really tough!
Just recieved this as a replacement for a locally available pole that we ended up snapping. No questions, this is worth it, good rubber grip with ergonomics to grip better, well made rope, and the attachment rope toy is nice. A little creativity and you could hook any toy to the end. 100% recommend.

Hilarious & so fun! If you’re disabled and have a service dog, extra highly recommend! 😄
I have a golden retriever who is my amazing service dog. He means more to me than I can express, and he DRAMATICALLY helps me and enriches my life, while I’m isolated and suffering a lot from serious illnesses. So this thing plus non toxic dog bubbles are SUCH blessings to us!!! 😃🥰❤️My dog is truly one of the most amazing animals I’ve ever met. He even plays with the wand toy WITH my 3 cats! They all take their turns! It’s hilarious! I call them my Big Dog and 3 Little Dogs. 😊But of course, he wants his own wand toy… and now he has it! :)I’m too weak to walk my service dog often. But thank God we have a great backyard! So I swing this thing all over (you could even do it while seated if you’re in a wheelchair, just have lots of space all around you, and keep moving it; but see my last tip), and he jumps and leaps at it! Runs after it! It’s truly adorable! And he doesn’t want to stop! He LOVES it! 🤩It’s surprisingly well-made! I mean the handle is ergonomic and easy to hold on to (did not expect that!), the poll is heavy duty but not heavy, and the connecting rope is great! I only wish they had a bigger rope toy at the end for big dogs. But it’s not bad, and I can easily connect one when this one wears out. :)Where it matters: this thing is well-made!And it gives my boy and I much needed joy and much needed exercise for him! 😊💕 He’s tired and smiling while panting at the end. Jumping like that is really great exercise, along with the running after it. :)*Important tip: Dogs and cats can both develop anxiety/OCD if you don’t let them catch things like this at least every 3-5 attempts to catch it/movements. Same with laser pointers! They need to be able to pounce and “catch it”. Or it can cause horrendous behavioral issues. I’m a dog trainer, and I’ve seen and heard about the sad effects that can happen if people don’t know and do this.Just teach your dog “drop it” with positive affirmation (highly recommend online dog trainer Zak George!), and it’s easy to begin again! The dog will learn that dropping it INCREASES fun, not decreasing it. :)So just wanted to set you up for success! 🙂 Using this correctly is hilarious (great to entertain other people also), fun, great bonding, and great exercise for human and dog! 😊🥰💕

My puppy loves this toy
I got this because my puppy doesn’t like fetch or tug, but loves jumping and chasing. It was better than I hoped. Not only did my picky puppy love playing with me using it, but she got out a ton of energy without me feeling like I’d done a cardio session. It was perfect. While the rope is good and sturdy, but I’m going to get some of the stuffed accessories so she doesn’t get bored (she bores of toys quickly so I need a rotation). The good news is all I need is a variety of dangly toys, and not the rod.The product itself feels solid and well made. It’s got a spring near the handle to give it some play (important to ensure its not too brittle and breaks). Nothing feels “loose” or wobbly. It’s heavier than I imagined, but that’s not a bad thing. Especially because it feels balanced. The handle is ergonomic and comfortable to hold, guiding your hand naturally into a good casting /tug of war position with supports in the right places to ensure you win that tug should the dog catch the rope. It’s durable enough to withstand my 40 pound puppy tugging against it and despite an impromptu game of tug did not unscrew itself in the slightest despite easily coming apart when it was time to go home. I’ll update when it breaks or starts to loosen. The rope is fairly thick – good for medium to larger breeds. My puppy is about 40 pounds and it was thicker than the other ropes she prefers. I don’t think a dog under 30 pounds would enjoy the thickness. Swapping out the toy on the end is easy enough, so if you want an extra strong rod, swapping out is possible. After the first couple of sessions, I changed the rope to a softer puppy rope to protect my pup’s teeth.

Buy it! Strong and durable!
My two 40 lb dogs are thrilled with this toy! It is VERY strong, both of them can be gripping the end rope at the same time and the pole does not break, the clasp is very strong as well. My dogs love this toy, we put it up after a session of crazy play with them jumping on and off the sofas and ottoman after it, we really wear them out with this one. Excellent value for the money, the ropes have not frayed at all.

Wears my boy Murphy out!
I can’t leave it out, or my dog obsesses over it, but it’s a blast to play with! He’s a two year old black lab, and has more energy than he knows what to do with. When I play with this toy with him, he knows to release the rope once he catches it, and we start all over. It’s been durable so far, and is the perfect size for him at approximately 90 pounds. It wears him out FAST!

My pup is a mix breed of active medium/ large dogs and loves chasing and tugging on this toy. We have had it for a few months now and is the only toy that has survived his play. Definitely recommend.

Not ‘whippy’ enough

This is good quality, great for bigger dogs or those breeds that are rough on toys. I have three Aussies and they are serious about their hearding and tough on toys 15 minutes of playing with this and they are relaxed for 2-3 hours. Great work out. Good price point

I purchased this for my dog who is a border collie mix. He does love chasing it around and pulling on it when he catches it. The metal pole is sturdy and does not seem like it is at risk of breaking when force is applied. The rope is well stitched and does not seem at risk of fraying or letting go easily, yet replacing the toy on the end is not difficult at all. I would NOT let your dog just sit an chew on the rope (or the included rope toy) for any length of time or play with it unsupervised as tearing and fraying are certainly possible with excessive chewing. I give my pup a few seconds of rewarded play after catching the toy to pull or chew on it before he has to release it, and so far it has stood up, but too much chewing would certainly fray the ropes. The clip is sturdy as well.My only complaint is that both the metal pole AND the rope feel a little short. It makes it so my dog can just basically run circles directly around my feet and practically grab the rope, and he isn’t a big dog at all. I would love a way to make it longer. If a segment of pole was made that could be attached in the middle between the two existing end pieces, that would be a purchase I would be willing to make.

My dog adores this toy. We go to the soccer field and I run all over and she chases her octopus stuffed toy I tied to it. It’s a lot of fun and a different way to exercise your dog.
