Excellent, solid real wood, double sided dog brush.
Excellent, solid real wood, double sided dog brush… but still not as high quality as one from 20 years ago. It still get’s a 5 star though because it’s better than any of the other replacements I have tried. I bought one brush in this style more like 25 years ago, and it’s still the best made one I’ve ever had. I’ve got a plastic handled one, and another wooden one that’s smaller in size. This is a great and perfect brush for short haired dogs.,… I use a metal looped, de-shedding tool very gently on my boxer/lab mix, and more aggressively on my other mixed mutt, because his hair is thicker in many areas… then I use the pin brush on both of them, gently on the lab’boxer and more firmly on the other dog. Then I finish with the bristle brush side to even out the natural oils over all the hairs…. which I’m so glad I heard the advice of several smart vets, and now from many other people too, that you should wash your dog, sparingly… bathing every week or every month or even every other month, is not good for them, as I understand it. The less bathing the better, so as to not wash away their natural skin and hair oils. Great product.

Floofs n Fluffs
Wanted a brush appropriate for Golden Retriever fur as my puppy’s coat begins to feather & grooming tool to dislodge loose fur , massage the hair follicles, and floof up the fluff is now needed (other dog, different type of coat).The tines of the slicker side are good for my breeds’ coat depth once full adult coat comes in. Each tine has some give, so this is a bit of a forgiving brush (as tine rash from too much pressure and irritation from brushing too long or too frequently are a thing). I have experience as a groomer, so I am confident with tines like these that have no protective ball cap on the end pf each one.The other side is a brush feels much like ones for humans. This for me is the 2nd step I use. It makes the lighter fluffy areas very floofy and his feathering soft.The handl seats well in my hand (M-L men glove sz) letting me grip it secure or loose as needed. Its light _ prior to finger surgery the weight of it wasn’t problematic. Its light. My only complaint is it feels a little flimsy, but doesn’t seem to be.Does feel more solid than the plastic one I used for many years. Best of all: no static cling (for some reason, common problem causing me to get rid of many brushes).This would be a nice consumer tool, might not be durable enough for professionals. I like it & appreciate having 2 grooming tools in 1..

Great for grooming a variety of dog hair types
Quickly and efficiently grooms the hair on my three dogs. Two of them have thick but straight hair and I can get out the tangles with the comb side then I finish brushing with the brush side. My third dog, a poodle, has very curly hair for which I use the comb side. The brush bristles are effective but not to stiff so they do not bother the dogs and the comb side metal ends are smooth so they do not irritate, wither. The handle is comfortable and made from sturdy wood. Easy to clean.

Not good for short hair
I was looking forward to trying this brush for our short haired dog. His shedding is insane.Unfortunately, it didn’t help much. I tried both sides of the brush, which is why I’m giving it a 4 star review.I’ve been using a different slicker brush on him. That brush does not have the pinheads that this brush has. That brush has been causing his skin to get irritated and bleed, so the slicker brush side with the pinheads works great for him.It just isn’t what I’m looking for because it isn’t doing as great of a job as I had hoped.It works more for giving him a nice massage than cleaning his coat of excessive fur.MADE IN CHINA.

Well made and gripping! The wire part is the best if you ask my dogs – they roll over on their backs in sheer ecstasy as they are lovingly being brushed! The wood and grip of the brush is high quality! Zero complaints!

Double sided Brush for more than one scenari
PRODUCT/THOUGHTS:The pin brush side didn’t work too well on my Aussie, as it’s a double-coated dog, so her coat is quite thick at the moment. However, she didn’t have any real tangles to get out but I can only use this side on the thinnest part of her coat area.The normal boar bristle side however worked great. Was soft, and easy to brush her without issues.I would say that there is a difference between just having a long-coated dog/cat and having a long coat that is thick. Plenty of breeds can have long coats, but many have thick coats on top of that. The pin side may be an issue with the latter.

Excellent Brush!
I ordered this brush so that I could groom my Havanese puppies hair, it’s getting long and tangles easily as it is quite fine and whispy. This works great for getting the tangles out and gives her that “just professionally groomed” look with all her hair smooth and lying down! The handle is solid wood and comfortable to grip, the bristles are a bit spread out but they work fine.Overall, I am quite happy with this brush and would recommend it to others!
