UPDATE: SERIOUSLY CUTE LONGJOHNS IF HOU DON’T MIND A LITTLE ARTS AND CRAFTS PROJECT
(MY ORIGINAL REVIEW IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWS THIS ONE.)UPDATE:I never got around to returning the pair of these dye longjohns I’d purchased before the deadline for returns passed. So I had nothing to lose by takng a shot at cutting a big oval where the manufacturer had indicated, to provide an openiing in the necessary spot for my dog – a 20-ish pound male Cocker Spaniel-Chihuahua (plus several other breeds) rescue – to be able to pee. There’s heavy stitching that delineates the oval; you’ll know where to cut, no worries about that! I followed the stitching and carefully cut out the oval. The fabric didn’t pose any substantial resistance to the scissors; it didn’t fray, rip, or “run”, either (which I’d been anticipating). By just cutting along the stitching, I was able to produce a symmetrical, clean-lined oval cut-out.While I would have preferred the longjohns to be “ready to wear” upon receipt, the whole exercise took five minutes, if that. I tried the longjohns on Max after completing the “project”. They’re even cuter when they’re being worn! The fabric, as noted previously, is a really nice, midweight, extremely soft cottony material that Max doesn’t seem to mind wearing at all.A few washings later (machine wash cold, gentle, tumble dry low) they’re still looking great – a little very minor pilling like you’d get on just about any cotton garment in a “contact point” (in this case, the entire garment … hey, he’s a DOG, he rolls around and plays hard!)Seriously, the minor pilling may also be happening because I’ve been machine drying the outfit; line drying may help to alleviate the issue. But the colors are still vibrant and don’t appear to have faded or run. The garment stayed true-to-size with little or no shrinkage evident.BOTTOM LINE: I’ve bumped my rating up to FOUR STARS; the minor alterations necessary for male dogs to be able to wear these nice quality, very cool longjohns is truly no big deal. Don’t let that deter you from the purchase.~~~~MY ORIGINAL REVIEW:~~~~***Seriously cool, seriously stylin’ longjohns … unless your dog actually needs to pee***First, the good stuff: These “longjohns”/pajamas are, truly, extremely adorable. They’re soft, the tie-dye is vibrant and very cool (my attached photos absolutely don’t do it justice), and they wash well. Once they’re finally (!) on the dog’s body, they seem very comfortable. They even have a reflective strip around the middle.Toggles are a pretty cute detail. However, they’re not the most logical choice for a garment to be worn by animals who chew things, even though these toggles seem to be attached pretty solidly and they ultimately wind up on the dog’s back; toggle-chewing is only an issue while you’re wrestling the outfit onto your dog (or if you happen to lay the outfit down for just a second in a place where a curious dog will find them and proceed to investigate).Fit: I purchased these in a size 2XL (!!) for my 19 pound one year-old (his birthday was just over a week ago, as I type this) spaniel mix rescue puppy, Max; the fit was perfect. Sort of. (I’ll get to that in a minute.)Now for the not-so-good: This is one tough outfit to get onto your dog (and I have the most chill puppy ever!) To put these longjohns on, you have to first unzip the full-length zipper all the way. The garment itself isn’t a “step-in”-type; instead, it goes on more like a “four-armed”(or “four-legged”, I guess) backward coat (It actually is much like a coat that zips up the back instead of the front.).So it becomes like a game of “Dog Paw Whack-A-Mole* “, as you try to make sure that each leg you manage to corral into its respective leg hole stays put while you fit the remaining legs into their places. (*Please note that there is absolutely no “whacking” of paws or any other body parts involved — you’ll just need to keep constant track of all four paws as your dog manages to keep pulling them out of the leg holes. Because they WILL keep pulling those paws up and out for as long as possible)Zipping this outfit up once all four legs are finally in-place is its own challenge. To get your dog into the garment pretty much requires that they be facing *belly-up*. HOWEVER, the zipper is on the BACK, which requires you to flip your pup like a doggie flapjack while you try to make sure they don’t pull their legs out of the leg holes. The zipper then has to be fit into its track before you can zip it up. My guy managed to get the whole outfit twisted, so it was like if a Picasso painting became a pair of dog pajamas; that was one challenging zip-job.So the longjohns are FINALLY onboard. Max looks truly stylin’. They fit him **perfectly**, both length-and girth-wise.And then I see it (and I don’t know how I missed this!): There is, literally, no cut-out for his private parts. None. So it would be impossible for the dog to pee without soaking himself and his longjohns. (It would be a bit “iffy” for pooping too, I believe.) I tried readjusting the longjohns, pulling them foward more … there was just no way there was going to be a workaround for this!I guess I could take them off every time he goes outside and put them on again once he’s back indoors. But the thought of repeating that “dog paw whack-a-mole” process several times a day isn’t a pleasant one; “on/off, on/off (repeat ad infinitum)” is not an option, at least not for usI’d (foolishly!) already washed the longjohns before trying them on my dog, so I can’t return them. I may try to actually create a wider opening by cutting one, which is ridiculous and will likely ruin the outfit. Or else I need to find someone with a female pup about Max’s size, to see if there’s any chance the longjohns will work any better on a female. (Highly doubtful, but possible, I guess.)Two stars only because they’re impossibly cute.Otherwise, a one-star rating (because “no-star” ratings aren’t allowed) would have been my choice – these longjohns are impossibly cute, but made unwearable by a truly impossible design. Hopefully some other manufacturer will procure this or similar fabric and create a pair of stylin’ longjohns that we can actually use.Epic fail. Not recommended.

Sturdy and machine washable.
I put this on my little guy when we have ‘“expedition days” in the cold seasons. The optional cut out works well, but if he’s wearing it ALL DAY he’ll get a little pee on the suit. I throw it in the wash, hang it up to dry, and it’s ready to go again the next day. My guy doesn’t squirm much or mind clothes (he seems to appreciate the extra layer once he got used to it) so it’s easy to put on and off, the back zipper helps a lot. Love the optional drawstring and reflective waist band. He gets lots of compliments every time he wears it and stays cozy all day.

Be aware- Fabric has NO stretch!
The overall construction of the jumpsuit is great! However, I do wish the zipper were placed differently to make it easier to use a leash with a harness- you have to unzip it quite a bit unless you put the harness over the jumpsuit? The material choice could have been better. This jumpsuit has absolutely no stretch. While the fit was spot on, my dog couldn’t move her arms or walk comfortably. I ended up tailoring it to fit her better, adding gussets under the arms so she could stretch and move more freely. I also shortened the legs. After those adjustments, it fit her great! My dog is a chihuahua mix, 16 lbs with long body and little legs. we got the XL

Fits perfect
I bought size medium which is usually her size and it fits perfect. She is a 10 lb long hair chihuahua and fits perfect around her belly and length. I just roll up the sleeves a little but not a big deal and glad it keeps her legs warm too. Since it doesn’t have a hoodie, on really cold days I put her hoodie over top this outfit and fits good when I have to take her out and potty. She is a senior and gets cold alot easier now. The fabric is pretty thick so seems like it keeps really warm and she doesn’t shiver like she did with other outfits I have so it’s great for the really cold winter days. I also love the color.

Reflection Stripe Reduces Size
I have this exact onesie for my 8 lb mixed breed dog in a version that doesn’t have the reflection stripe, size small, fits her perfectly. I ordered another color to rotate and wash the other one. This new version with the reflection stripe reduces the overall size of the onesie at her ribcage to the point it can’t be zipped! It fits like normal on her body and zips normally until the zipper gets closer to her shoulders, then it stops and if I’d zip it would hurt her. I’m going to try and pop the stitches and remove the reflection stripe. If you need the reflection stripe order a size up if the normal size is a snug or a perfect fit. Shame, the original version is nice and thick for her short hair during winter.

so soft fits well
I can’t wait for the snow now. I have a Havanese, which is a small breed, he weighs about 14 pounds. He’s double coated and his hair is very long. Whenever he goes out in the snow, he’s like packed with snow so bad that I have to stick him in a tub of water to get the snow off. He loves the snow so he needed the snow snowsuit I ordered an extra large and this fit him perfectly. There were comments on other reviews that said their male dogs peed all over the suit. There is an area to cut out for male dogs. Just look at the video instructions.

Wish there was a 10 star rating! These are heavy weight, very soft polar fleece with multiple stylish colour choices. Material and bias binding tape both have slight stretch. Wear alone for cooler, dry weather or under their windproof jacket when it’s really cold. Prevents snow from sticking to their belly and legs.Size Large was true to fit from the size chart. Garment actual measurements: chest 19”, sleeve length 7.5”, back length from tail to collar seam 12.75”, collar length 3.5” Are designed for slim body type breeds. Perfect for both our girls who are 10 and 12 lbs.Back zipper has a material flap underneath to prevent accidentally catching fur. Toggles on both sides for adjustments but neither needed to be cinched – fit is snug. Elasticized bias binding tape on the cuffs make them easy to stay up if you have to roll them up. Our Havanese has shorter legs than our tall Yorkie but we just roll the front legs up once. Enough material to cover back legs and lower tummy without getting soiled when they go potty.Design not tested on a male but because it fits quite snug and the toggle cinch is just above, assume the material will not droop into urine stream above the provided hole cutout.

Ordered the blue XL for my 18lb Havanese to use as a post-surgery recovery suit since he hated wearing a cone. Will also be come in handy staying warm and clean during cold or muddy walks. It fits him perfectly, not too bulky and the cinching toggles around the waist and neck allows you to customize the fit if needed. Provided full belly coverage with a small stitched area for you to cut out an optional opening for male dogs, allowing Charlie to pee and poop without soiling the suit (saw another review on here claiming your dog couldn’t relieve themselves while wearing the suit… Not sure why they didn’t try this lol) Fully zips along the back with zipper guards to prevent fur getting caught. It’s a soft, thick fleece material that allows full movement. Was able to tuck a bandana into the turtleneck to protect one of his incisions that’s higher on his neck. Highly recommend!

Delivery took awhile, but it’s still winter here so she can still use it. Dog is 12lb yorkipoo so based on suggested sizes we got her a large which is a little big but still wearable, maybe it will shrink?. I think if we’d gotten a medium it would be too small. Zipper closure on back is a little awkward but my dog is very compliant, and does Not have attachment or hole for leashWe haven’t used it outside as it just arrived, but may have to cut out the ‘boy’ section of suit to ensure my girl dog doesn’t dribble/mess, as seems like it partially covers her privates.Overall legs and neck a little long but can be worked with. Material decent thickness and should be warm, quality is good. Deducted 1star due to no leash hole or attachment.

Good quality, not too thick. It will be perfect under a rain/snow jacket on cold days for my poor Mexican girl living in Canada. It fits well but the legs are wide so I will add some elastic to cinch them in. Legs are also too short on my pup but it’s perfect because that won’t get too wet in the grass and snow.
