Love the visibility
Im pretty happy with this flotation aid for my dog. He is at the absolute edge of the size guide for the largest option, but I decided to try it.I love the straps with clips to really secure the neck and chest but the velcro helps get it just right before you mess with the straps and holds the flaps of each side from moving around and being annoying. It’s still late winter early spring here so he isn’t swimming any time soon but he was able to wear it on a long hike and seemed comfortable. He even went through a few clumps of dense brushy stuff and it didnt come off or get damaged which is a good sign.I really am a fan of high visibility and reflective stuff, so this design makes me very happy. I don’t think I would trust the lift handle on any hacket I’ve seen online so far, as they don’t seem to directly connect to straps all the way around the dog’s chest, they all seem to just sew to the jacket fabric… which works for maybe a Yorkie but for a larger dog I don’t super trust the handle for long term use. I’d use it in an emergency though and its better than not having one at all.I don’t know how much float this will provide, its probably going to be in the mid range between mininalism super ergonomic minor float helping for a very capable swimmer and ridiculous bulky majorly helping a dog who needs a lot of help swimming safely. Which for my boy, Kevin, is just right. He was about 7-10 lbs underweight when we adopted from the rescue (and they had already gotten some weight on him) so when we first went swimming last summer he didn’t feel as confident exploring the new experience without some extra buoyancy. I excavated my previous dog’s flotation jacket, which kinda fits him but is less athletic-ly cut, and just looks a little chunky on Kevin. This looks much more free and less awkward, but also is less thick in the what I presume is foam inside providing buoyancy. I think Kevin will be fine in this jacket. He didn’t seem to feel any annoying rubs in this on our hike. A lot of his water activities involve running up and down along the shore after balls in addition to swimming so I wanted to make sure he would be comfortable walking and running in it.If he has trouble in the summer in the water I’ll come back and update this.Kevin’s measurements (I was looking at sled dog harnesses when I originally took them so if you want to see what I was measuring as, noodle the net on how to do that)withers to tail base 23.5 to 24 inchesneck to just over breast bone 13.5 to 14neck to side rib 17full around chest 32.5 snugfull around neck base 20-21withers to floor 25-26 floor to level with withers

Fits pretty well on a hard to fit dog.
My dog Turbo loves to swim, and he’s a good swimmer. He’s also 9 years old now and never knows when to quit. With his propensity to swim out into lakes without a real destination in mind, I decided to get him this flotation vest.My dog also looks normal but he’s surprisingly hard to fit. I’ve acquired doggie backpacks, harnesses and warming vests for him over the years and due to his large chest and small waist it can be difficult to find full body gear that works for him. This life vest does a pretty good job. Turbo is 65 lbs and “solid”. Most people think he weighs less than 50, but he’s got that big chest. I got him the Large size and it was the right choice. The straps are extra long and will certainly fit any dog. There is also the thickened body of the vest that is supposed to connect with velcro around the chest area. That part is just a touch too small to close properly, but the straps keep everything secure and tidy. The vest seems to be comfortable enough and Turbo appears proud to be wearing it. The grab handle on the back is a necessity and can haul his entire weight. The vest seems durable and lets me not have to worry about my dog taking a dunk when he tires out in the lake.

Nice, reflective and is adjustable.
It is a nice life jacket. Has large area that is reflective and is adjustable to get a good fit. I gave it only three stars because neither of my two dogs were comfortable in it. They chewed and tried to get it off. On a positive note, they could not remove it on their own. I feel sure the dogs could get used to wearing the life jacket after awhile.

Peace of Mind and Pup-Approved Comfort!
We recently got this Float Coat Dog Life Jacket for our water-loving pup, and it’s been an amazing investment in both fun and safety. Whether we’re at the lake, beach, or pool, this life jacket gives us total peace of mind knowing our dog is safe and secure in the water. The fit is spot-on thanks to the adjustable straps and sturdy buckles. It’s snug without being restrictive, and our dog seems totally comfortable wearing it—even during longer swims. The built-in handle on the back is a huge plus! It makes it easy to lift our dog in and out of the water when needed (especially onto the boat or dock), and it feels very secure. The reflective stripes are another smart feature, making our pup easier to spot in the water or low light. The bright color options also add visibility, which is great for safety during busy beach or boating days.We love that it comes in multiple sizes, so whether you have a small pup or a big swimmer, there’s a good fit for every dog. Ours is a medium-sized retriever mix, and the jacket fits perfectly.Highly recommend this for any dog owner who likes to spend time near the water—it’s well-made, reliable, and makes water adventures a lot more fun (and worry-free) for everyone!

Well constructed. Bit spendy.
Lets not go calling anyone fat here, but this was a little snug on my 70 lb golden retriever. The portion that Velcro only caught 2-3 inches however, the straps were able to still be closed. I ordered a XL and it fits him and to be honest he is not overweight, but he is large compared to a typical golden retriever. I also thought that the price was a bit high for a dog life vest, but it is of high quality and seems pretty comfortable on him. Overall its a good product and maybe Mr. Duke’s dimensions are off just a bit. Haven’t had it in the water with him yet, but based on the size I am sure he will float.

Great looking floating dog vest, sized right for our dog, not bulky, fits securely
This dog vest is great for our dogs who can swim. It gives them a little help with buoyancy and allows them to swim more without having to keep themselves afloat so much. This one fits our ChowChow mix who is just under 40 lbs.He looks good and likes to wear it if we go boating or around the lake or pool. It’s just a little safety and insurance for us to be able to easily grab him and know that it is securely fastened around him.
