Not good for a chewer
Build quality:The idea is great, but, unfortunately the quality of the wood is not strong enough. My dog likes chewing it, leaving behind a track of little wooden pieces. I worry that she might hurt herself with the wooden chips.

Only works if you can get the dog or cat to scratch it!
It is made well and comes with an extra piece of sandpaper. In theory it could work, but you have to get the pet to scratch it. My dog won’t go near it!

Requires training but once trained can work well
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I am still working to train my dogs on this but so far they’ve adjusted okay to it. It is compact which makes it easy to store when not in use. The plus side of using this is that my dogs aren’t as averse as there’s no pinching like a traditional nail trimmer and lacks the noise of a nail grinder. It is easy to use once a dog knows how to do it but does take training. It’s important to note this will not trim the dew claw so you’ll still have to work on that. It is slow going as the dog has to work themselves. I do like that it comes with a second set of sand paper to replace the other.
