First use – much better than sandpaper bands
Bought the XL Diamond Rotary Nail grinder to try instead of the 60 grit sandpaper bands I had been using on my two German shepherds. We were *all* much happier with the diamond bit.The curved areas made it easy to round the ends of their nails smooth. The dogs were happier because it wasn’t as ‘grabby’ as the sandpaper is. (Using higher grit sandpaper took way too long.) Smoothing the underside of each nail was different than using the flat surface of the sandpaper band, but it worked ok. Didn’t try using the top of the diamond bit as shown in the product page.So far, I’ve only used it once ( x 2 dogs x 18 nails ). Still need to see about longevity of the grinding surface.

Works well!
TLDR: would recommend!I’m a professional dog groomer. For years I’ve wanted to get a “diamond” tip for my Dremel to use on dog nails, but the sand paper ones do a great job and because of the extra cost, I put it off. These were a great price, so I decided to try!Pros:Quality, these bits will definitely last longer than the sand paper ones, saving me time (switching the paper covers) and money in the long run!Great for both big and tiny dog nails. I was initially worried about the groves and if a large dog nail would fit into the space to be rounded and smoothed. It does! Took awhile to get used to, I’m used to a cylindrical, “flat” shape of the normal dremel bit. Also, the little lip, at the top of the bit, is awesome for the tiny dog nails. Trying to maneuver around itty bitty nails isn’t easy, but that little lip makes it so much easier!Cons (maybe?)Grit: the sand paper bit is a bit more coarse and files more quickly. I feel like it take just a bit longer to smooth nails (I trim with trimmers first) with the diamond bit. Mostly on big dogs. Takes a little bit to get used to the difference, could be I’m just “set in my ways”.Overall, I would recommend and buy again!

Did I get a dud? Loud, vibrates something fierce and requires a lot of pressure
Update 7MAR22:Was sent a replacement and the first did indeed have an issue as the replacement works so much better. No vibrations, the dremel didn’t get hot, it didn’t sound like a plane taking off, didn’t vibrate. Basically, all the things I didn’t like after using the first bit are gone with the replacement bit.I was able to get through all the dogs without the dremel over heating. It did take longer (still 2 batteries), but that may just be getting used to using a different shaped bit. But it did work well.Customer service was great and easy to work with.We have 2 dobermans and a great dane, so plenty of nails to do.What I liked:The shape means you short and shape at the same time, so no going back over everything to smooth the nail outLess dust – but that may have been because it really wasn’t taking much offWhat I didn’t like:For us, it is super crazy loud. Way louder than our dremel is with the sanding bit using the max speedVibrated something fierce – my hands still feel it 45 mins laterThe bit wasn’t hot, but the dremel sure did get hot. Before I was done with the 2nd paw (of 12), the dremel was almost too hot to handle. I had to wait between dogs because it was just too hot to holdRequired a lot of pressure to get the nails shorter. With 2 of the 3 really not liking their nails dremeled… this didn’t go over well with themI can normally take care of the nails on all three dogs with one battery. This time it took both batteries.By the time I got to the third dog, I was also done. The dremel was just hot, my hands were vibrating and while the nails were smooth, the just weren’t as short as I can normally get them.I’m not sure if we just got a dud bit that was off balance, but so far, not a fan. We typically go 2 weeks for nails, but there is no way we’ll make it that long with what I got off tonight. We’ll try again this weekend to see if we get better results

Works great and fast!
I was given an Oster pet dremmel with no bit for free so I purchased this diamond bit to go with it. I am not disappointed at all. It works great. Now, it could be because of the dremmel itself, my other pet grinders which are pictured are slow and are getting noisier (both purchased on Amazon). My dogs struggle a lot so I need one that goes fast. I was going to buy the dremmel brand until I got this one. Unfortunately it is pretty loud, but it goes fast and seems to do a really good job. It took half the time of the old ones for sure. I’m very impressed so far, very noticeable difference in how fast it grinds down the nail compared to my old ones. The shape of the body of the tip and the top of it really help to keep the nail steady as you grind and shape it correctly. I rarely write reviews either but this warranted a review.

Definitely a solution to consider.
This is so much better than using a barrel sanding disc!

Great grinding, longevity not there
I have a dachshund that we trim his nails with this. I use a small Dremel and it fits that fine. It does a very quick job of grinding the nails down, which is good because our doxie does NOT like to get his nails trimmed.Unfortunately the sharpness of these grinding wheels does not last past a couple trimmings and the it takes longer to grind down his nails, which is not ideal.

Love It!
A simple diamond tool to put on the end of your dremel for dog nail trims. Works really well! I love the rounded top for the sharp under points of nails where they curve into the pad. Dust level is what you’d expect from dremeling nails.

Very durable and gentle when grinding my dog’s nails

He kicks and screams when we do his nails, this tool saves a lot of time and aggro, used some standard dremel bits before this but it was not as easy to round the nails off nicely.

My friend has 2 dachshunds, & asked if I could order one. She is very pleased with results.

The product seems good to use. Still working on getting the dog used to it.

Finally, one of these diamond rotary attachments actually fits my dremel. I use the dremel 2001 with this attachment and it worked. It is definitely quieter and doesn’t make my puppies as nervous as they can sometimes get.
