Well made despite not holding up
Update: Not durable at all for cats. After a week it’s already coming apart. The toys are still great but she doesn’t play with them because the balls are too big for her. I really loved this mat but too expensive to last a week. Not to mention I already overlooked a missing toy. This would be great for display but not for minimal use by a small cat. I really did like it at first.This is a very thick, beautiful, well made, mat. I could see it holding up to my girl’s sharp little claws for a long time.. Since it is made of wool it is not soft at all. I can’t remember if the page says its soft or not but knowing wool I didn’t expect softness like a microfiber or cotton blanket. However, it is cushy and I plan to put it in her carrier for extra padding , with her soft blanket on top, when she isn’t playing on it.. It’s rather itchy to my human skin and the coarse wool does give me little red bumps if I lay against it but I don’t think it will make much difference to my cat. It’s not for me after all.The color is a dark pink, perhaps fuchsia. The colors are vibrant and it looks like quality pieces including the toys. I buy many things made in Nepal and this is what I have come to expect in terms of quality. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is not the fact that it is itchy to my skin, its that my blanket was missing a ball and there is an issue with one of the springs. I just think you should get everything that is advertised..This was a good purchase but if you have sensitive skin keep in mind this could cause a human rash. Its just due to the rough wool fibers. It’s a good idea to manage expectations when it comes to wool, even Merino gives me red itchy skin but if my cat likes it she gets to keep it and I will take some Claritin or something and not sleep on it myself. 🙂
