Replacement for old, smaller mat
This replace an old and much smaller similar type item. Unlike the old item, this actually keeps the litter from getting spread around so much, and our robot vacuum actually can clean it much more efficiently than the former product. Glad we upgraded to this one.

Easy to clean, fast drying, and all around great!
I have a cat who has recently decided that one corner of my living room is his litter box. His vet can’t find anything wrong with him, except that maybe he’s a jerk. On the vet’s recommendation, I bought a litter box to put in that corner, and grabbed one of these mats because it was there in the litter box section of Walmart. Waterproof was a nice bonus, but not why I bought it.I cannot express how thrilled I am by it’s waterproof-ness! Unfortunately my cat is still a jerk, and uses the new litter box only sometimes, but his most recent out-of-box incidents have all been on the litter mat. And it’s SO easy to clean! Water/urine just wicks right out of it when you turn it sideways, so I just carefully scoop it up, bring it to the tub, and let the urine drain right out. A quick scrub with some enzymatic carpet cleaner to maybe deter future pees, rinse throughly, then just hang it to dry. It drains completely in just a couple minutes and can go back in the corner by the litter box before any more incidents!I bought a smaller one at Walmart, but have purchased an XL one here on Amazon to cover the rest of the problem corner near the litter box. I’d love if my jerk cat would stop urinating on the floor, but if he’s going to do it, I’m so happy to have these waterproof mats to save my carpet and make cleaning easy!I will say I’m a little worried about the durability. I’ve washed the small one about 6 times and not the large one yet, and it seems to be holding up fine. But the backing is just a thin lining of plastic. If it gets a hole the whole thing will probably leak out that hole. But it’s a great price even if it might get a hole someday.

Waterproof liner does not stay on after being washed
I like many features of this mat, its large size, effectiveness at trapping litter, machine washable. With the liner on bottom, it’s waterproof, keeps urine off the floor. However, after machine washing a few times, the liner peels away making this no longer waterproof. I have continued to use these mats without the liner, and continue to wash them in machine when soiled. But if I don’t notice the urine spot soon enough, it will seep through to the floor.

Giant, washable, and flexible
There are many reasons why I like this mat. It’s nice and big. It’s comfortable on human and cat feet. It’s machine washable. I find the flexibility a plus. You can lift up the edges and roll the litter to right next to the litter box. That way, you can wait to shake the litter back into the litter box without it being scattered further. And the flexibility makes it easier to pick up in a fold and simply spill it back into the litter box. The fold acts like a spout. Being so large, I can put a fold by the wall, so it keeps litter from gathering by the baseboard. It isn’t as thin as some reviewers are making out. It’s thick enough to lay well. I like it a lot and would recommend.

Not durable or machine washable
Bought this and the first time it was washed the black waterproof backing started to peel off. After a second wash it has completely peeled off which makes this unusable as a waterproof mat

Large enough to catch the litter from the cats feet. Much easier to shake the litter off and clean than the ones with holes in it.

Mixed feelings
I have mixed feelings about this litter mat. Here’s why:I have several elderly cats who often have trouble with the litter boxes. The *main* reason I bought this mat was for its waterproofing, so that the urine accidents wouldn’t ruin my floor. The mat excelled in this regard. It is truly waterproof, even after several rounds of machine washing.There were some major drawbacks, however, which caused me to ultimately throw this mat in the garbage.(a) did nothing whatsoever to lessen the tracking. We still had litter everywhere.(b) OH HOLY MOTHER OF GAWD THE SMELLI honestly have no idea how other users have been successful at removing the smell after an accident, because I swear we’ve tried every cleaning trick we could find to clean this mat. There’s something about this mat that changes the urine odor into something ungodly monstrous and it will not come out no matter what we did.So, waterproofing was great. I still felt the mat was a little pricey, but overall I was willing to pay it if it saved our floors and reduced the mess. I bought two of these mats, for upstairs and downstairs. I ultimately threw them both out, because I could not remove the odor.

Too Effective
I never thought I’d complain about something working too well. This pad traps kitty litter very very well. Unfortunately, it traps it so very very well that it’s very very hard to clean the thing. I first tried shaking it, but a great deal of the litter still clung to it. So then I tried vacuuming it using the hose to vacuum up each little pellet of litter individually. That eventually cleaned the mat, but not without having to really work at it. Sorry, but I need something that will catch the litter without latching onto it so persistently—and causing me extra trouble.

I have two cats that are super messy when it comes to moving litter around. This product really stops litter from being tracked everywhere. I also like the color goes great with my vinyl floors. Will be ordering another one soon.

I’ve tried a lot of different mats over the years and so far this is the best one. I got the jumbo size, it’s perfect. I have old cats and sometimes they don’t make it to the box on time. I’ve had mats that catch litter but also catch poop and then it’s impossible to clean. This one is so easy to clean. Throw it in the wash and it’s good as new.
