This blanket is very unique. VERY unique, so I am going to try my best to share my own experience now that I have had it a while. I’m a native Floridian and although our air conditioner works wonderfully and our home is very insulated, I still get hot sometimes. When I first got the blanket and it was still in the plastic I could feel the coolness! I couldn’t believe it because even cooling sheets that are nice, do not feel cool to the touch like this did right through the plastic that surrounds the blanket, before I even opened it. I am so hot natured but always feel like I want a blanket while watching TV. I also wanted a blanket that I can snuggle up to and this one is just right for me. It is a thinner type blanket but not too thin, just lightweight. Both sides look totally different. At first I didn’t like the feeling of the actual material on the cooler side. I’m not sure why but I got use to it after 3 days. Now the feeling is nice and a silky type feeling. One side is cool but warms up if I’m sitting on it for a while. However, I found a little trick. I discovered if I shake it above my body just a bit, it becomes cool again right away. This morning it was a little chilly, in the 50’s and I flipped it over to the cotton side and it was a little warm, warm enough for me. It’s November and already hot outside and so as I type this I have it touching my legs on the cooler side. — I use this to cover the top of my body and snuggle up to in bed, it helps me fall asleep. I feel a little like Linus van Pelt, from “Charlie Brown’s – Peanuts” because when I’m in the house I always want my blanket. Everyone in the house knows mama wants her blanket. It is so funny. –I’m 5’9″ tall and it is the right size to comfortably wrap up in with not much extra. So I think it would be nice if they made the blankets a little bigger. But it’s no big deal. I personally wouldn’t think it would be something to use on a bed as a bedspread so I didn’t even try that and didn’t buy it for that purpose anyway. I did wash in in my washer with baby laundry detergent. My washer does NOT have the agitator in the middle. I washed it on delicate alone and laid it over the end of my bed to dry. It washed up perfect with no problems at all. Mine doesn’t get picked, I was surprised. Even after having it a while, it still looks great and feels great. After washing it, it still has the same coolness to it. I have no idea how this blanket works. I just know it does. I wish I had it my entire life to be honest. — I chose the blue one but would have liked more color options. Now, I don’t care what color it is because I love it so much!

Replaced my old 3 year old cooling blanket
UPDATE TO PREVIOUS REVIEW:I bought this blanket (from this very listing) 3 years ago and loved it (see my review below). And I love this blanket too – since I’ve been using it, I’ve woken up at night COLD…which has never happened to me in the summertime (because my roommates keep it so warm in the summers). So yes, it works just as described and makes it so much easier to fall asleep at night. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars was because the previous blanket I’d purchased (again, from this listing, from the same seller, so it should have been the same blanket), had one shiny side (the cooling side) and one cotton side (for when it’s not so hot and you don’t need as much cooling). The blanket I just received doesn’t have different sides – both are the shiny cooling fabric. I really liked the first blanket because during the seasonal transitions, it was nice to either use the shiny side or the warmer side, depending on the temperature.But with that said, if you’re looking for something to keep you super-cool at night, buy this blanket – you won’t regret it! :)———————————————————————————————————-My roommates like to keep our townhouse much warmer in summertime than I prefer. Even sleeping in the cooler basement with a fan directly on me, I was still hot and had trouble falling and staying asleep every summer. I bought this blanket hoping for some relief…and it worked!!PROs:1. It has 2 sides – the cooling side (slick and shiny) and the other side (feels like a very lightweight flannel). I love this, because as we get into fall, the nights turn a lot cooler, and I can just flip the blanket over to get warm.2. It’s very lightweight.3. It’s a good size. I bought the throw size, and it’s very comfortable for me. I’m 5’3″, but like to keep my feet stuck out, so the length is perfect.4. I can easily fall asleep with it, while before, even using just a cotton sheet, I’d be too warm to get to sleep.5. If I wake up in the middle of the night, it’s still cool. I toss and turn a lot, and others have said you have to move periodically to get it to stay cool, so that seems about right.6. Using it with a fan makes it stay really cool without moving around a lot.NEUTRALs:1. The cooling effect doesn’t happen if you use this blanket in conjunction with a sheet or another blanket. It must be used by itself with air blowing on it to get the full cooling effect.2. If you tend to get colder as the night goes on, keep a warmer throw handy to pull over the cooling blanket. That will warm you right up.CONs1. This may be my fault because when I purchased it 3 years ago, either I didn’t see or didn’t notice any washing instructions. I’ve washed and machine-dried it several times, and while the blanket’s cooling properties are holding up just fine, the cool side pills a lot, which feels weird on my skin. Hence, I’m getting ready to buy a new one. Still, after 3 years, it’s been a great bargain, even with the pilling!2. The dog doesn’t like it. She prefers my old faux fur throw, even in the dead of summer. Idiot. 🙂

I was sceptical about this but ordered it to cool myself down at night either after too hot a shower or because of the impending menopause!I couldn’t see how this could really make any difference but it actually does! It cools me down a lot faster than just laying there with the duvet off!I think the price is expensive for what it is but it’s the usual, “every woman is going to need/want this at some point, so we can charge extra” 🙄The quality seems good and it should be easy wash on a 30° “gentle wash”, we’ll see! I would recommend it if you get hot and for hot summer nights. Although I won’t be sharing as I only got the single size due to the price!)

Did not expect this blanket to make such a difference, but it really does! The moment I pulled it over me, it felt cool against my skin, and the best part? It actually stays that way. No more tossing and turning or waking up sweaty in the middle of the night. It is super lightweight but still cosy, and unlike regular blankets, it does not trap heat.Another significant advantage is its ease of cleaning—just toss it in the wash, and it remains as comfortable as new.
