I have a solid metal comb that I have had for 40 years – it works okay & our dogs have always preferred it over the brush. Decided to give this comb a try and so glad I did – it is wonderful. Pins are about 1 inch long, and the comb portion (without handle) is between 4-5 inches. This works so well on our Yorkie/Shih Tzu cross – goes through her long, long hair very nicely – would also work well on a bigger dog – Golden Doodle, Poodle, etc. So very glad I took a chance on this comb & highly recommend it.
