Just Know Your Cat Well! This Won’t Be Good for ALL Cats….
I say that because of the various reviews AND my own experiences. I have 3 cats. One has a long very thick coat. One has a shorter thicker coarse coat. The 3rd has short very fine silky texured coat. The results for me were different for each cat.Cat number 1 with the long thick coat absolutely adores being brushed with this brush. And it works wonders on the knots she gets almost everyday. She’s rather large at 16 pounds and it’s hard for her to reach her back when she grooms herself. This is the first brush I’ve found that made it soooo simple and easy to get those knots out. It did take about an hours worth of gentle brushing at the knots, with it being repeated several times during the day, but she is now smooth and soft as can be.Cat number 2, with the shorter thick coat, tolerates the brushing for a few minutes and then she says “That’s enough”!Cat number 3 .. the one with short silky, fine hair …was not one bit happy when I attempted to brush her with it even though she takes well to a different kind of brush. Now won’t even let me near her with this one in my hand.Overall, I still give this brush a 5 star rating. I just caution you to be aware and know your cat!The long haired cats are likely to love it.The cats with short finer hair will likely hate it!

Good cat hair brush.
Brush arrived today, 8 days early, technically 9 since I am in Japan. Arrived in the package as shown. The bristle area is 3″ wide x 1 1/4″ high. The head of the brush is 4″ wide x 2 1/8″ high. The bristles are set in a soft rubber and there is a rigid plastic frame that holds it into the frame. The holdable part of the handle is 4″ long. It is made of the hard plastic with the rubber on the finger grips and thumb grip that encircles the neck of the handle. The brush weighs 3 5/8 oz which is 1 oz less than an iPod touch. The brush has a sturdy long lasting feel. The bristles are rigid, but since they are in the soft rubber they will flex when pressure is applied. So our cats opinion; both being domestic short hairs. Our big Tom(9) who hates being brushed tolerated me and seemed to enjoy it(this was coupled with the fresh catnip he was eating). The little princess(11) was so bouncy and rolly after the catnip she looked like a pig wallowing around. She was just excited to rub on the brush in any direction…After a few minutes both cats coats looked healthier and had a nice sheen return. If you have not groomed a pet before use the brush gently, just allow the weight of the brush to press down and pull the brush like raking leaves. Do not stay in the same spot which will irritate their skin and hurt. Go from under their ears to their hind quarters to include their tail if they allow it. Do not force them unless they are matting(fur knots), the experience needs to be stress free and seem like you are naturally grooming them. It can be a fun experience for both as a happy kitty will express their content and your house will not be covered in shed fur.I recommend this product.

Nice brush, works great on your friendly cat, not so great on the unfriendly orderly cat.
Don’t expect EVERY cat to fall in love with this brush – or any brush. Basically, if your cat loves to be petted, held, have their tummy rubbed, and so forth, then get this brush. It does a good job of removing loose fur, and whatever else lurks there. It is well made, and easy to hold.

The perfect brush
Not to stiff, not too soft. Feels very comfortable in the hand. Very nice

a revelation
This brush is such a radical improvement on our previous cat brush that I can’t praise it enough. We have a long haired cat, and with our previous cat brush, I was always frustrated that, despite frequent grooming and use of hairball remedies, our cat was always throwing up hairballs, and the house was covered with cat hair. The brush wasn’t getting down deep enough, and the bristles just wouldn’t trap the hair. Despite being marketed as a “cat brush,” it was more like a regular hairbrush. Cleaning the brush was also a struggle; we would have to use a comb to try to rake the hair out of it, never very successfully. So it was always clogged, reducing its effectiveness even more. This brush by Four Paws has rows of thin, sharp filaments with a bend in the end which helps trap the hair in the brush. It looks sharp and painful, but trust me, it isn’t. Our cat loves it, and will actually roll around in different positions to be sure we don’t miss a spot! I am stunned how much cat hair this brush removes with each use– literally a handful every time. It glides effortlessly through her thick fur with never a snarl or snag, getting deep down where our other brush never reached. And the brush is very easy to clean; the hair virtually lifts right off the brush in a little mat that you just throw away and, voila, clean brush.Brushing our cat has become a pleasure. Our home is cleaner, and she has fewer fur balls. You will love this brush!

Good slicker brush and collects a lot of cat fur, but sadly my cat does not like the feel of the brush. It’s probably a little harsh on my cats delicate skin.

As you can see my old slicker brush had tips on each wire making it sturdier and better quality. New one is satisfactory and the cats enjoy it also.

This brush was better than some of the more expensive brushes.
