I opened the box outside and just as I finished putting it together my senior cat jumped in and immediately claimed it.Re: Durability – It is made of cardboard that is covered in fabric – but for my two cats it’s sturdy enough.Re: Comfort – As others have stated in the review, the bottom is a hard piece of cardboard with some furry fabric on it. What I did was put my cat blanket in (with a pee pad underneath) and then added in her cat bed. This way IF there is an accident, the bottom of the house is not ruined – and ALSO my cat is sleeping in her perfectly plush bed – in her house.Re: Practicality – My purpose in purchasing this was to give my senior cat a place to “hide” and to have some peace and quiet. Unlike other places she hides, I can easily find her here. It’s okay I guess
Bought this for my 2 very large cats so they can look out my bedroom window. Previously I had a smaller cube that they both struggled to perch on at the same time, so I thought this longer version would more comfortably accommodate both of their ample keysters. I keep it on my bed right under the window so they can reach to see out. They sometimes lay on it or in it, and there is plenty of room. It looks very nice and seems to be quite sturdy.Now…the reason for 3 stars is because for the price, there are a few quality issues. While the outer fabric seems to be of very nice quality, the inner fleece cover of the bottom cardboard insert is thin, poorly made, and just held on with a flap like a pillow case. I know this is so you can take it off and wash it, but a zipper would have been better and would have stayed on nicer. The inner bottom of this is just carboard and hard as a rock. The little yarn ball is tricky to attach and made of cheap yarn that comes off in my cat’s mouth every time he tries to play with it. Not wanting an expensive vet bill if he ingests all that yarn, I threw it in the trash where it belongs. Other than that, the appearance, outer quality and size are perfect for what I needed.

This product is both fun for your cats, and come in handy, depending on how many cat friendly hiding spots you have!My lil kitties use this product mostly as a seat, but whatever makes them happy. I’ve also attached one other of their play toys to it, to make it more fun to enter.As I can, I want more ways for them to play… I know they’re not hamsters, don’t say it. I just want more ways for my cats to have fun.As for why it’s otherwise useful, you’ll know one of their hiding spots when they’re sick of your nonsense for the day.

Bought this for my dwarf mix rabbit, perfect size for her to lay in and roll around. She loves getting inside furniture, she literally ripped open and got inside of my box spring, so a piece of furniture meant for her to chew and lay inside of was exactly what i was looking for. I (less importantly) wanted to use this ottoman as a stool to sit at my vanity but was worried about sturdiness when ordering. The way this thing assembles is pretty simple, it comes with the sides folded down & inward and they easily pop up. The sides are rather flimsy , not as bad as cardboard but like a really thin wood or plastic. But the top is very solid and once that’s on it balances it out / holds it together. Im 100 pounds and it feels very sturdy to sit on for me. I would say up to maybe 130 it could bear. Not really meant for the average human to put all their weight on. it definitely works as a sort of foot stool though. Could see it breaking/ weakening over time due to wear and tear if you straight up sit on it but for a less than $40 ottoman i’m pretty satisfied with it fulfilling both purposes i got it for.

My rabbit initially refused to stay in the hidey box for long because it only had 1 entrance. Rabbits need a hidey box with at least 2 entrances. I decided to cut a smaller entrance on the side and boy was I surprised by the hardness of the cardboard/wood interior! I ended up having to use pliers and gardening scissors in order to cut it. It was so incredibly durable and just impeccable quality. Even with this extra hole, my cats can it just fine without issue of it shaking or falling apart. Rabbit now uses it regularly! Very happy!

Easy to assemble and fairly sturdy. Fabric is nice but rather pricey for a collapsible ottoman. My dog won’t use it. Would be great for cats!!

I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a small/exotic pet! I bought this ottoman/pet house (large size) for my two dwarf rabbits, who are about 4-5 pounds each. It’s the perfect size for them to hang out and snuggle! I did end up cutting along the seam on the side to make a second exit since one likes to guard the main entrance, but that’s not the product’s fault at all. It was very easy to cut through the seam specifically but otherwise not cheaply made at all, it’s reinforced with pressboard.
