Canine nail clippers
This style is my favorite. However, there are others that many vet techs use with good results, and this cutter definitely requires that you know how to use it. What I like is the ability to quickly determine how much nail to cut and accomplish the cut quickly. My suggestion is to find a good vet tech that knows how to use it and learn before diving into cutting your pets nails at home.

Quality pet nail trimmers
When trimming my dog’s nails, you always know when the blades are wearing out. I find the guillotine style works best for me. My dogs don’t flinch or balk when it’s nail trimming day. This brand has the hardened steel which takes longer to dull. It even came with a spare blade. This will last me several years. Thanks.

The blade was sharp and cut the nails like butter! The only thing that could make them better is if they could stop my dog from wiggling so much!

Crushes Nails
The blade is not sharp enough and does not cut through the entire nail. It crushes nails and for some reason passes part of the nail between the blade and black material which caused a lot of discomfort for both my pets. Returned the product. Rescoe has better blades.

We have a german shepherd and have probably bought 7 or 8 pairs of nail clippers throughout the last year alone – always unsatisfied. Other types would crush but not cut the nail, or leave it really jagged. It’s a whole big thing to cut her nails every few weeks with one of us distracting her with treats and the other performing gymnastics to get her trimmed.These are INCREDIBLE. I bought three styles of this same brand at once and they’re ALL better than the ones I bought before, at the same price or less! This one is my absolute favourite. It slices through easily and I had no difficulty taking small cuts at a time (or larger when it felt safe to). These are absolutely going to be my go-to clippers – I didn’t even have anyone help me! No treat distractions, just several firm commands to stay and quick work of getting her nails done!

My original set lasted for not quite a year before breaking. These are good nail clippers ONLY if you know how to use them. They provide a second blade which I would not recommend trying to install yourself as the blade could dislodge and injure your pet.
