    Very Large
I have a similar heated water bowl and it was invaluable during the latest freeze. Whereas the water in my cats regular water bowls were frozen solid, the water within the heated bowl remained at a comfortable temperature. Given this experience, I was eager to give a second bowl a try.A benefit of this heated bowl is it’s very large. You can fit plenty of water in it. It has a quality appearance and smooth and solid feel. Whereas similar models have an industrial type look, this one appears more whimsical, perhaps as a result of the turquoise color. The corrugated steel power cord is also very long (over 6 feet), so it can be spaced pretty far from an outlet which is very convenient. One drawback is that it doesn’t have a power indicator, no light or anything of that nature. The manual states that the absence of an indicator is purposeful as “luminous objects will raise animals alertness” and the “bowl without an indicator can relax them and they are more willing to approach and drink.” This is something new and interesting I encountered. Fortunately operation is straightforward – when it’s plugged in it’s turned on, and to turn it off unplug it. The disadvantage of the lack of power indication is that you can’t ensure at a glance that the bowl is securely plugged in and operating. However, if it’s in the pets best interest and they are more inclined to drink from the bowl, it’s a worthwhile tradeoff. The weather warmed today, at least comparatively speaking, so I haven’t had the opportunity to use it in cold or freezing weather yet, but so far I’m pleased with what I see and it’s in place and ready for if the temperatures unexpectedly drop.

    Warm Water for Wildlife
I live in an area with a lot of birds and wildlife. Critters abound after dusk. Many people don’t think about it, but water for animals is critical, especially in the winter months when nearby water sources are frozen. I have used several different heated water containers, and they are very busy in both winter and other seasons. Birds, squirrels, foxes, and stray cats have been seen at the water source in the winter. The animals remember where to go for water when the weather gets frigid.I like the nice long cord length of this heated water bowl – roughly 78” long. It has a corrugated shield over the entire cord to protect it from animal chewing or other outdoor abuse. Plug is a US standard polarized 2-prong 120 VAC type and the label shows it to be UL listed, consuming 30 Watts of power.Bowl is an attractive teal green color, BPA free. Construction appears sturdy enough to hold up to the rugged outdoor task, and time will tell. Holds 110 ounces /.86 gallon. Unplug when not in use of when water is drained.

My outside cat loves it and then the other neighborhood cats come and drink water too
My outside cat really loves this dish. I noticed that I would feed her and she’s always crying crying and then my neighbor told me it’s because they needed water. The reason I didn’t even put water out because I know there was like a big pot with water so I thought she was drinking out of there. I don’t know why it didn’t even occur to me that I was supposed to give a lot of water to her. Now that I’ve put this bowl which is a really good size. She is very happy. And also, she is sharing it with the other neighborhood cats. I don’t keep it plugged in all the time, but when I do plug it in on the really cold days it really does help a lot and not let the water get frozen. It’s a very dirty item really good quality and also the wire is so good that you know you can’t go wrong. It’s not gonna get damaged. I definitely recommend this. It’s so nice especially if you have outside animals.

Life saver for my outdoor cat colony
We recently had record breaking low temperatures in my area and while the homeless cats have access to heater houses and a few with straw I found their water dish was constantly freezing over. I seen this and ordered it in the nick of time. It was very easy to use right out of the box. Just plug it in and fill with water. It has a very long cord and the cord is surrounded in a chew proof material. The water dish is super large. It came with instructions and a list of dos and donts. The first day I set the bowl out it was 3 degrees outside. That night it got to 10 below 0. Not once did it freeze. The water stayed nice and tepid. I was pleasantly surprised. This heater water bowl has allowed me not to worry about the cats as much. I feel this bowl is well worth the price. It’s super sturdy. Heavy duty.

    Only One Shortcoming
I have two of these (different sellers, same bowl) and like them very much. They keep water from freezing for outdoor animals, and they do so without getting the water terribly hot. The only problem is that to clean the bowl, one must unplug the cord and take the whole thing to be cleaned, rather than simply unplugging something at the bowl, which would be so much easier. For what it is, what it does, and what it costs: Four StarsI am the Totally Unbiased Reviewer Dude (T.U.R.D.) and that is how I see it.

    Works good!
I selected this so water would be available to our 20 chickens, our husky and any wild birds. It is working great, just sitting out front in the yard. Since it’s been plugged in out front, the temperature has not dropped below 20. It is forecasted to drop to the single digits in a few days. I will update my review if it freezes during that time. Otherwise, this is a great heated water bowl.

    Extra large heated water bowl
Does heated water bowl is great because it’s a nice large size for bigger animals. It worked like a charm and below zero weather, and it looks like it’s good quality to last a long time.

Cats love it. Dogs, not as much but it definitely keeps the ice away
We have had such a cold winter and thawing out water bowls for the cats who live at my house was a pain. They each have a heated little house but frozen water was a problem. This solves that well and even on days above freezing the cats like the warm water. The 2 big outside dogs like cold water. They have a house with heat lights but it has been so cold that water near the heat lights was freezing. I tried the heated bowl and found that they seemed to like water that had chunks of ice in it over warmed water but they did drink from this bowl when it was super cold. I never want the critters who have shown up at the house to need water so I’m very happy with the bowl.
