Affordable solution for fleas on any kitten under 12 wks of age!
Bought this to use on a tiny rescue kitten, too young for chemical flea treatments. Using the comb EVERY DAY, running it carefully thru the fur, over his whole body, near the skin, i was able to capture fleas in the teeth. Kitten loved it, he purred & only struggled when i lay him on his back so i could do his underside/belly (they feel helpless/vulnerable in that position). Each time i caught a flea between teeth of comb, i would dip the comb into a (previosly prepared) bowl of warm water & liquid dish soap. I had to use myfingers sometimes to pull flea from between teeth of comb-that’s how well it traps them. (The bowl of soapy water drowns the fleas) Diligently doing this process *every day*, it ONLY took about 1 week to have him completely flea-FREE! Without dangerous chemicals that would’ve harmed his tiny body! Each daily session took about 15 minutes- WORTH IT!! I also used Natural Care brand flea & tick spray ON HIS BEDDING- very lightly misting, allowing it to thoroughly DRY before he was back in his “house”. Had to keep him separated from our dog/out of common home areas, til fleas were handled. Soooo with this comb (and that spray-*which *never* used on the kitten, ONLY on his bedding!!!), his flea problems were cured. The comb removes fleas large and small, also flea “dirt” (poop?), & eggs i guess, although they’re hard to tell apart from the brownish “dirt”. Using bowl of hot soapy water to kill fleas as soon as you get them is critical! Put a towel inyour lap & be patient while working. Fleas try to run & hide… Be thorough! Hit everywhere more than once! After a few days of not catching any fleas, the jobis handled. Now our kitty is old enough for traditional flea treatment, which i will only use as preventative measure. Thankfully our kitty wasn’t COVERED in them. I suppose how difficult it is & how long it takes to get them all depends on level of infestation. But for the sake of health in kittens under 12 wks of age, this inexpensive comb is well worth buying!!!

These really help with the fleas.
I have had a serious flea problem. Wild animals track fleas into my yard and rodents get into my house as well. I have been using a five part flea control. I have dogs and cats. I use poisons occasionally; the drops on the pets which pretty much stopped working and one of the cats seems to have a neurological issue from it. NO MORE! I have been spraying poison ON the animals and carpets. They all went nuts when I did that one time. It also had an insect growth regulator in it. I use manual removal, flea combs and literally grabbing fleas on the dogs in more bare areas, swiping the combs off over a soapy water container and dropping the caught ones into the water. The fourth part is VACUUM OFTEN! Even baseboards! Last part is powder Diatomaceous Earth and Boric acid powder all over where I vacuumed.I am finally getting control of this flea challenge. I have three dogs, the smallest, oldest one which is very hairy, I use the larger side of the combs on him. The biggest dog has thicker hair but I still use the fine side on him. Those two are older, less healthy, crippled and have trouble scratching their fleas. They seem to have the worst flea problem. The youngest dog that is healthier seems to have hardly any fleas left. I was combing every evening but I am now down to once every three days. I love the fact they have them in lighter colors so you can see the fleas AND that they send a bunch of them. I ruined two already but I bought two sets because I had already screwed up some other darker ones I already had from a couple years back. You can use these every day unlike poisons. Just watch the pets and make sure you are not hurting them. The small side hurt my little hairy guy. Go kind of slow at first, some of the fleas will literally come up where you can catch them on another pass.

    Yep. It gets the fleas…
You never know with a flea comb. Some are too wide and those little vampires just slip right out. Some are too flimsy and break. Others just don’t seem to ‘work’ with the cat or dog, being too stiff or unwieldy. These combs are just right. One side is wider so I use that first pass on any animal that has a thick coat. Once the hair is smoothed I can use the fine side and bingo! up come the fleas. Here is a tip to make sure you not only capture the fleas but also get rid of them:To do it right you must be ready. I always have a little rectangular container with an inch or so of hot water and soap so it has a foamy top. I place this right by the area I am combing my pet. As soon as I get a flea I knock it into the water mix. (don’t put the comb into the water, just nudge the flea in – keep the comb dry) The flea will walk onto the bubbles and be attracted to the warmth… then goodby as it sinks away. Even though the comb also picks up loose hair – no worries. The fleas and the loose hair go into the water mix and go towards the warmth. None ever try to jump out. When I am done the water mix is dumped into the toilet and my flea problems are flushed away. The fine comb picks up a lot of loose skin and scurf as well as fleas. To clean a comb is easy. I just use the spray attachment to my sink and the comb is as good as new.I thought I would be using all the combs, but one so far has lasted months. This is a great product. I couldn’t be happier.

Work great, impossible to clean. Consider them disposable.
I bought them for dandruff removal. My teen son gets hundred of tiny flakes from a quarter sized patch, right at his hairline. He has long hair and the flakes are impossible to work out. I bought these combs for him to learn to just take them out as he sees fit. They worked AMAZINGLY. The problem is that they are TOO good. The teeth are so close that it’s impossible to clean. You’re basically acknowledging they’re disposable. I use them, scrub them with an old toothbrush dedicated for this, then soak them in alcohol. So I know they’re clean the next use, but it’s hard to keep using them seeing the gunk just sitting there. After 2-3 uses each, I toss them. The did help so much. Along with a total hair care revamp, using these once a week helped loosen the skin from the scalp and he was able to get rid of flakes for over a week at a time. Would recommend, as long as you are ok with tossing them after 2-3 uses.
