OMG, my cats love these!
So I have older cats–all three are 10 years old. They’ve gotten a bit lazy over the years and one of them especially has gotten a bit…how do I say this without hurting her feelings–Junoesque. At their age, while they would have periodic spurts of kittenish behavior, it has been difficult to find toys that interest them. This one, I’m happy to say, drove them crazy.They seriously took turns chasing this thing until the battery ran down. Now, to be honest, my round one tended to chase it, catch it, then lie down on it while it buzzed under her belly. I would have to go over to move her to release it and she’d be off again along with the other two. They do seem to prefer the faster over the slower speed, and the “interactive” mode doesn’t really interest them at all.Whoever came up with this design is a genius. This has been so much fun for them and for me that I ordered two more so we’d always have at least one or maybe two charged and ready to go.

For the shy and bold cat
I’ve tried a few other automatic cat toy balls, and this one has some features that really stand out.The toy makes a gentle tweeting sound to simulate a bird. It’s lots enough for your cat to hear not so loud to drive you bananas.The little bells inside the tail are also sweet sounding and gentler than other toys I’ve tried with bells.The reflective tail is attention getting. Before I even powered the toy on, just wiggling it on my own got my cat ready to play!Best feature- you can switch between a fast, slow and interactive mode. If your cat loves this kind of toy, go fast; if your cat is shy or new to this kind of toy, go with the latter two options. This one is a keeper because you can have it move slower for the timid cat.Only downside I found was that the motor sound itself was pretty standard, and the ball had a knack of getting caught in corners and not being able to back out like come other toys of it’s kind. But I supervise my cats play anyway, so for me it’s not an issue at all.It’ll probably take a few more weeks before my kitty would come out for a photo and play with this at the same time, but she is getting braver I think I’m part to to swing this little toy run around. Worth considering!

Amazing little bugger
I am so impressed with the way this little thing runs around chirping and changing direction. It lasted a lot longer than I expected it to. Even my senior cat, who doesn’t get excited about anything it starts to watch it and chase it. The only change I would make if I were designing it would be to make a way that the tail doesn’t come off when it’s running around.

So far they’re scared of it…
My 2 adult cats (both 9) so far are terrified of this toy! It charged quickly, and I thought they would love chasing it around because it moves on its own, all over the place. It lights up, makes a bird-like chirping sound (and my female tabby LOVES watching bird videos & will wake from a sound sleep if she hears one chirp!) and it scurries around all over the place, with the long tail attachment flopping back and forth. They will watch it intently, but if one gets near it and it takes off, they jump and run. It has 3 speeds so I’ve set it on the slowest one to try to get them used to it. Perhaps with time they will like it more. It easily scoots from my hardwood floor onto a thick LR rug, but I have to keep an eye out if it gets in a corner, or stuck under the edge of the sofa as it needs to be retrieved and set back on course. The only downside to it is that it quickly gets covered with hair as the surface is rubber and easily picks it up from the rug (my male cat is long-haired). It’s a little difficult to remove the hair but plan to try using a damp paper towel instead of trying to remove it with my fingers. It’s really cute, two “tail” attachments are included, and I hope in time they’ll play with it more. Great idea and all in all, a fun toy.

Too fast
I know that every cat is different, and my cat on the first day showed interest. However, this toy runs too fast in different directions, with a pause of only 1-2 secs. My cat would rather play with it when it is off than when it is moving. For the latter, she will just observe it from a distance. I would have given more stars if the motion was not as fast with more seconds of pause between them, or to have the opportunity to regulate the speed. A cat toy should stimulate curiosity, not fear. Charge won’t last.

Both of my very lazy cats LOVE this toy!
My cats are both pretty lazy, and one is rather overweight. They’re about middle-aged as cat ages go, and generally don’t play with toys for more than a few minutes before becoming endlessly bored. This toy was the exception! They absolutely LOVE this thing. Even my overweight guy was chasing it down the hall over and over again (which is going to help with his weight loss, hooray!).One feature I found super helpful is that there is a spare “tail” attachment for when the first one becomes worn out, which I’m sure will happen eventually (thought it seems to be of a pretty good quality, so it may last a while!)My only complaint is that I cannot get the speaker to turn off (I did follow the instructions – 2 fast clicks of the button, and my husband and I both tried but had no luck), so the chirping sounds are just there if the toy is turned on. It’s not too loud, so it’s only mildly annoying after a while, lol. All of the other modes seem to work as advertised. My cats seem to only be interested in the fast mode, where the toy rolls all over by itself pretty quickly. Somehow, it seems to always find a way to crash right into one of my cats when they’re sitting there minding their own business. It has caught them off-guard repeatedly this afternoon!If you have lazy kitties and struggle with finding a toy they’ll play with, this one is worth a try!
