Good concept in an active toy, it will entertain most cats
This product will fascinate most cats, mine isn’t one of them. The reason I say this is I am familiar with these types of self-moving (aka interactive) cat toys. The idea is to simulate moving prey and they tend to work well in entertaining a cat. My cat is not an easy one to entertain anymore, due to age. So I am not evaluating this toy based on her atypical response. I wish I could say, “My cat did this and my cat did that”. She’s great, she’s just not into toys anymore. With this type of toy, the cat cannot directly see the prey. It’s moving under a cover. The jumping is an innovation I haven’t seen in this genre, and it’s really cool because that’s a signal to pounce. It’s easy to set up. Just pull the ball out of its sock, twist it apart, charge it up, twist it back together, and put back in the sock (this charges the prey). The pull the little flap in pouch, push the on button, push prey inside, close the flap, and let ‘er rip. Unlike the way things worked with early generation active toys, the prey doesn’t move around a track or go in circles. The prey moves all over and unpredictably. But it stays inside the pouch, rather than jetting under a couch or getting stuck in a corner. One active toy my cat had when she was young would roll itself across the floor in a lazy arc and then run into some barrier and get stuck. Or it would roll under a sofa where she could not get at it, and I hardly call that “interactive”.Overall, it’s a good design. It’s also done inexpensively, so you can afford for your cat to eventually outgrow it (but be massively entertained before then).

Interesting concept, not a cat favorite
Cat toys vary from one kitty to another, so please don’t let my cats’ lack of interest in this sway your buying decision. It is an interesting set with many ways to play, so my review is based in that. I did leave off one star for lack of instructions. There is a rechargeable ball that wobbles and rolls on its own, a plush cover for the ball, and a crinkly mat with a velcro opening to put the ball inside. You can use the ball with or without the cover, and you can put it inside, in top of, or underneath the mat to mimic chasing something. I have one cat who doesn’t care about it any which way, and another that only likes the ball itself, and even that only for a short time. He stares at it, but will not interact. Again, every cat is different, so yours may get hours of enjoyment. It is a nice little set with multiple modes of play.

    Well, maybe, say our cats.
We have two youngish (5 years old) cats that need extra exercise and playtime. I thought I’d give this ball-plus-play-mat a try. The ball has instructions for charging and turning it on but there are none for the mat. I kept looking for how to inflate it. It turns out, you don’t blow it up, you just sort of smooth out the very crinkly plastic and the stiffness creates a mat. Sort of. In my experience, it’s not much for the ball to bounce off of.I was afraid our cats would be terrified by the loud crinkly noises of the plastic mat, and one of them definitely wants nothing to do with it. The other, more adventuresome cat, was curious enough to give it a try but quickly lost interest. We’ve tried her on it several more times. She plays with the ball for a few minutes at a time. The ball often bounces away from her so it doesn’t trigger her prey drive. We tried the ball alone on the carpet and it makes a loud clunking noise that’s too scary for either cat. Maybe a cushy cat bed with high sides? I’d like to hear suggestions from other customers.

Durable and Fun, Depending on Your Cat’s Preferences
This interactive play mat is well-made, with a durable mat that feels like it will hold up to regular use. I also like that the mat helps keep the toy in place, preventing it from sliding around and getting lost under the couch or under a counter somewhere. That said, the included toy just vibrates around, which didn’t really encourage our cat to play. She was more perplexed than interested. However, when we swapped it out for a different motorized toy we already had, she absolutely loved it. The toy that we used was notorious for sending itself down the stairs, so the bag was a great option to keep it contained to a smaller area for more consistent play. The effectiveness of this toy will depend on your cat’s personality and preferences. If your cat enjoys vibrating toys, this could be a hit. If not, the mat itself is versatile and works well with other toys.

Works as advertised, just too much for my kitten
This cat toy works exactly as advertised; the ball holds a charge well and rolls and hops around in a random pattern to pique and keep a cat’s interest. Unfortunately my kitten was a bit afraid of this toy, but she may come around to it when she gets older. The bag is nice for keeping the ball from getting lost under the couch, and provides a good opportunity for cats to “hunt” their prey under a cover. (I genuinely thought my kitten would love this aspect because she hunts my toes under the bed sheets, but alas). Added bonus that the bag folds up really small when not in use. Overall fun toy, but may be scary for more sensitive cats.

    Older Cats Like it!
This is a descent toy! It does take up room, but also easily folds up. The toy itself is a little ball that you can turn on and it bounces around for 5 minutes. It kept my middle aged cats intrigued for a little while! I imagine younger cats would really take to it! It’s a good value, quality is good for a durable pet toy. The bouncing ball is rechargeable, so no batteries are needed which is a huge plus for me- for an interactive toy.

    One trick ball
The product presentation makes you think this ball moves around like zigging and zagging and rolling then bouncing etc, so thereby teasing the cat and inviting the cat to chase it. But really it just vibrates, so it just kind of bounces in one spot with the momentum of that vibration. It does not have any “mode” of play. You either have it vibrating inside the pouch or outside on its own. My cats did not care for it, and I don’t blame them.
