    fun for the pup
Dog runs around and wears himself out. This was a fun toy find for my Caviler. I just stick regular kibble in the treat holder and let him have at it. He runs around pushing it and running after it to collect the food it dispenses. It has not cracked or shown any signs of wear. It’s a nice size for my 20 lbs dog and is easy to refill with the screw off end.

    rewarding for the dog
This toy was perfect for our small dog. Have treats or dogfood inside and having the pup work for it was rewarding to watch. Our dog was thrilled once the treats fell out and has constantly learned how to make them come out.

Doesn’t work well for dispensing treats.
Keeps my Jack Russell busy, but she can get the opening apart, it unscrews as she rolls it around. Seems like a design failure. Sturdy on the outside but the inner parts are flimsy. I would not recommend as some dogs may chew on it and choke on some of the smaller parts. It is easy to load with small treats. The inner parts are not rigid so the button tends to slide over under the opening; that causes the treats to get jammed up inside. Inexpensive, gave it 3 stars for looks and it is easy for her to carry it around.

    Fun For a Few Sessions
We have a Golden with a bit of doodle who is on the large side, and is a prolific chewer. He is also pretty smart, sometimes. We got this for him because he gets bored at night sometimes, or is begging for our dinners.I’ll say the thing about this toy that is kind of a pain is that you have to find some very small treats or food to put in it, or else you’ll have to break up whatever treats you have on hand, which is time consuming. The first couple of times we used this, he had quite a fun time rolling it around and figuring out how to get treats to drop. To our surprise, before too long he had figured out how to get one of the ends off and eat all of the treats out.The second sessions was largely the same, but he figured it all out faster. Every time we have used it since then though, he loses interest pretty quickly if he can’t get the end off. He’s also caused. the plastic to crack in a few spots, which is definitely something to keep an eye on.So for our boy, the replay value wasn’t fantastic, unfortunately. That might differ depending on the dog, and I am sure there are some that will roll it around happily forever. As for us, we still think it’s a pretty good buy, because at least he got some fun and enrichment out of it a few times. Hopefully, if we put it aside for a few months, it will be fresh enough for him to have another go.

    Great Enrichment!
Oh my goodness! Our dog has had hours and hours of fun with this toy! We started with both openings dispensing treats so she could get the hang of it. And, now we use just one opening to make it more challenging. She is mentally stimulated by it and has so much fun! She gets so excited when we put it on the floor. Definitely a great enrichment toy!

    Fantastic to keep dog busy
You have to use smaller bits of food, but it keeps the dog from scarfing down food. I put some cat food in there, mixed with her dog kibble.

A lot of fun for both dogs and humans.
I gave this to my dog for Christmas. He had a lot of fun playing with it by himself but lost interest quickly. He really liked when we played together though. I’d roll it and he’d chase it then pick it up and play keep away with me. It has small openings where the treats drop out. It needs to be filled with the little training treats, or those little one calorie treats. Both of the ends unscrew so in all there are 3 pieces which make it easy to clean. My little guy is a 17 lb. shih-tzu mix. His mouth is relatively small. Still, he can pick this up and carry it around. The ends of this toy have ridges on them. The ridges make this roll in any direction except for straight ahead. I think that adds another layer of fun for both dog and human. I like this toy. It’s fun for my little guy no matter if it’s filled with treats or empty. And he had fun by himself and when I played with him. It’s a win win all around. My one concern is that when play time is over this will become a safety hazard for me. I trip over his toys all the time. He loves his toys and leaves them everywhere. I learned quickly not to leave the hard or rolling toys out. This being both hard and able to roll makes it a toy that needs supervision. But that’s just for my own safety. Falling down hurts. Just writing this for anyone else with this same issue. Other than that, this is a 5 star toy.

Very small capacity, probably best for small dogs/kibble
I’ve been using this treat/food puzzle with my Sheltie who requires a lot of challenge to keep her from getting bored. I have at least 20 different puzzle toys that I use in rotation. Unfortunately, this is not one of my favorites and I’ll likely not be using it often. The food capacity is so small with this toy – all of her other puzzles hold at least 1/2 cup food – I could barely fit 1/4 cup food into this one. The ends unscrew so food can be added, but threading the ends back on wasn’t as smooth or easy as other puzzle toys. Many of her food pieces got stuck in the spirals inside the puzzle and I had to open the puzzle back up to loosen them. Yes, you can adjust the dispenser opening size, but when I adjusted it much, her food pieces wouldn’t come out.I imagine this would work better with very small kibble and a smaller dog, but it too much maintenance to keep refilling it for her and having to get the stuck pieces loose. I have plenty other puzzle toys that work simpler and smoother and have larger capacity. So for larger kibble, probably skip this puzzle. For small kibble, it’d probably be a nice puzzle toy.
