Quality Materials & Intuitive Design that Keeps the Doggy Interested
Super cool dog toy for the bored K9 in your life.I have another interactive dog toy that is “okay” but I like this one a lot better for a couple of reasons.First off, this one works. It keeps my dog interested and I don’t have to worry about anything getting damaged. I say that because the other dog toy is simplistic but is made out of a hard plastic and is pretty hefty. I can’t let my dog play with it unsupervised because she might swing it into the glass door of the entertainment center and smash it.The toy “flapper” in this one is small and light. It tucks neatly in the burlap material of the outer toy. The burlap itself seems hardy that even an avid chewer would have a difficult time destroying. The rope is hefty and is made out of that biodegradable material that is okay for you dog if it’s accidentally swallowed (which I’m sure happens in bits and pieces over time). The little flapper has lots of functionality so you might want to keep the instruction manual in a safe place to refer to it from time to time. Basically you press the button for 2 second to turn it on. Once one there are two modes blue and purple. One mode is more active than the other. Both modes run for 45 seconds sporadically keeping your dog interested. After 45 seconds it goes into standby. If it’s touched it will go back into a 45 second cycle. It’s brilliant and it works! There’s also a barking sound that accompanies the antics, but thankfully if you give the button two quick clicks it will shut it off (verified by two red blinks). If you want the barking simply press twice and you’ll see two green blinks, and of course you’ll hear it barking again : )My dog doesn’t like playing with toys. She only wants to play with people, but I feel bad for her when we leave her home alone (and she’s a chewer). But with this she will stay engaged off and on until we come back home. And since it’s not heavy I don’t have to worry about her breaking anything or swinging it into the toddler when they’re near each other.Overall I really like this dog toy. It’s well thought out and they used quality materials. It’s rechargeable so that one less thing you have to worry about. If you were considering it I hope this was helpful.

Super Fun and Engaging, but Not Durable
So, I really wanted to give this toy a higher rating because my dog definitely loved it. He loved it so much that he destroyed it practically in one day. First let me start by saying that my dog loved this toy to pieces, literally. The motion-activated feature that causes the tail to wiggle and the squeaky sounds definitely caught his attention right away. It kept him entertained for a few hours as he desperately tried to get to the moving tail on the inside. The design is unique and pretty cute, and I really liked the interactive element to it. I could see why this would be a great way to engage my dog that really enjoys active toys. However, with this being said there is definitely a downside! Despite how much my dog adored it, the toy didn’t last long. Within a single day of play, the tail mechanism was no longer working, and the toy fell apart and was in tatters. Then I had to worry about him possibly eating it. The plastic parts, particularly the tail mechanism, are quite delicate, and it seems that the toy wasn’t made for the level of excitement and chewing my dog used. For the price, I just expected something a bit more durable. While it was fun while it lasted, the fact that it only lasted a single day before being destroyed is disappointing. It would be great if the toy were made of more durable materials.Overall, this toy was most definitely a huge hit with my dog in terms of fun and engagement, but the durability leaves much to be desired. If you have a more laid-back, gentle dog this might be better suited to you and your dog. However, for my fur baby this was not the way to go and really needs something more durable.

    Lots of safety issues.
My dog loves this toy, However, I do not.The yipping dog bark sound is not too loud, but I did have to turn it off at some point because it was becoming annoying very quickly. I am so thankful that it has an On/Off button for my sanity, and is re-chargeable so my dog can continue to enjoy it without constant battery replacements. My main concerns are with the safety of this toy. Despite being designed for smaller dogs, this is NOT a toy to be left with any pet unsupervised, as per the instructions. I am aware that my dog is much larger, and is very prone to ripping toys apart fairly quickly, however he has not fully destroyed it yet. I am concerned that the device inside is VERY easy to remove, even with the Velcro strips. My dog quickly figured out that he could rip that section open, and had the mechanical piece already halfway out of the toy in a matter of minutes. I am glad I was supervising him for this review, because he would have chewed that up in a heart beat if I did not take it away from him. He was very upset when I did put it away. So he certainly enjoyed it. The materials are somewhat thin and very stringy and frayed on the edges, so that is another issue as dogs can end up swallowing the strings and cause intestinal obstructions, and very heavy vet bills. So I would recommend VERY CLOSE supervision, and trimming away any excess or loose strings after any heavy kind of play, even with a smaller breed of dog. The fabric also gets dirty VERY fast, and this has never been outside, he has only played with it for the past two days in very short bursts of play time, and is already covered in grey dirty spots. The flapping/wiggle mechanism works, however I think the fabric is just a little too thick for it to really move around a lot, if at all. Despite being a thin kind of fabric for a dog toy. Most of the time it was faintly wiggling, and making a mechanical flapping noise that became annoying just as much as the yippy dog noise. I don’t like giving such low reviews like this, but unfortunately I don’t feel like this is a good or safe toy for any kind of dog, and certainly NOT worth the retail price. I am glad he seems to enjoy it when he can be supervised. While he would give a 5 star review, I can only justify 2 for the safety of this toy. Please use caution.
