Fun for small dogs as well!
I know this is advertised as a cat toy but I ordered this for my 5 small dogs that I have. They range from 4 to 10 pounds and are smaller than some cats. They really enjoy this toy. My smallest dog is who I always buy cat toys for since most all dog toys are too big for her. This is finally a toy she can chase and play with. She grabs it and carries it around by the rope. I do have to watch as one of my dog entire chew and play a little more aggressively did quickly get the plastic piece that the rope goes into off. Luckily it went back on.This has 3 modes and you know which mode it is in by which light is currently displayed. It has fast, slow, and interactive modes. All 3 modes work on thin carpet, thick carpet, tile, hardwood, and similar floors. We have thick carpet and it works great. It charges fast and the battery seems to last a while. It has an auto shut off if not played for 10 minutes or so. This toy is well worth the money. The only complaint is there is no option to turn lower or mite the sound.

A loud, but highly entertaining cat toy
This is a small, sturdy ball with a plastic holder for a long, soft yarn tail. The ball has some weight, and is covered with textured silicone. It fits neatly in the palm of my hand, but I can’t close my fingers completely around it.It is charged through a USB port, very short charging cord is included. No batteries needed. When it needs to be recharged it flashes red. The light does not turn green when the charge is complete, so I wound up just charging it all night. As typical with these kinds of toys, it has three levels and off. First level is slower, a bit faster than I comfortably walk, the second is faster, and the third is intermittent. It deactivates after 5 minutes of non-play, and reactivates when nudged. The on button is the only raised texture that isn’t a star; it needs to be held down for several seconds to turn on. It took me a couple of minutes to find it at first. It turns off by pressing the on button repeatedly until the red light flashes. The instructions included are so small I had to read them with a magnifier. It rolls freely on bare floor, and with moderate difficulty on carpet. It randomly rolls forward and backwards, and changes direction when it encounters an object. It drags the yarn as it moves. The silicone shell has not left a mark on my antique furniture. While it moves the level light shines, and it emits constant bird chirping that sounds like a manic bird of unknown species. There’s a way of turning off the bird sound, but I haven’t been successful in getting the right combination entered. It has rolled over small, flat obstacles, like edging between floor surfaces. The cats love it. They chase it, pushing each other out of the way to get it first, stepping on the yarn to stop it, and stalking it. I don’t know how long the charge lasts because I’ve turned it off every night, but it’s three days and counting. Turning itself off, and not needing batteries are huge pluses for me.

It scares the cat…
The toy appears to do what it says. It rolls around on its own, it sounds like birds chirping, and attracts the cat. But, then, it often attacks the cat. I know it only moves in a random direction, but in the first of three modes, it moves very suddenly and very quickly, just like a mouse, But this is a harder object and hits fairly hard. The cat follows it and watches it, but she keeps her distance. The ball managed to roll into and back out of different rooms. It seems to never stop on its own. I finally turned it off after 20 minutes because the chirping and banging up against things was annoying. Some cats will probably like the toy and go after it like a lion after her prey, but after being attacked by it, my cat keeps her distance.I hope you have better results than I have had. I’ll continue to turn it on and see if things change. If so, I’ll post an update to the review.

My cats don’t want nothing to do with it

Toy is Okay; It’s VERY Loud
My cat liked this toy for a day or two, then lost interest, which I think has to do with how loud it bangs around my house. It works as expected, and the battery life is good, but depending on your cat they may not like this.

Great toy…for the younger cats!
OK so my cat is 17 & not the most “playful”. Her days are mostly treats & snuggling on a heating pad. I thought this toy might entice her to play a little more. Instead she watched it like I’d just let an alien loose in the house & then returned to begging for treats! However, my daughters younger, energetic cats love it. I was really impressed with how long the battery lasts. We got 3-4 play sessions out of it before having to recharge. It does a great job of moving itself out of “stuck” spots too which is great for when the cats eventually get tired of playing. The fake bird noise is a little irritating & I don’t think the “tail” material is the most enticing to cats (it’s just a shoe lace really) but the cats don’t seem to mind. This is a fun toy for the playful cats in the world. If you have a lazy spoiled older cat like I do though, stick with the big tub of treats instead.

This thing goes crazy
This thing is crazy!! It goes wild and will get stuck underneath of your couch your table anything. For the most part it can turn itself around and it will come back out but it has gotten stuck under the couch once lol. My cat mostly will just watch it and then when I turn it off that’s when he’ll go play with it. So I think it might be just a little bit too crazy of a toy for him. If you have a wide open space though I think this would be a great toy. It does have three different settings though which I didn’t figure out until I tried to turn it off one time. I do think this is a cool little toy though but it is a little bit wild hahaha!
